CHAPTER NEWS TRICHY
The executive Committee & Members of Trichy Chapter Extend a Warm Greetings for The New Year-2012 to all fellow
AUETAANs.
Er. R.Ebenezer Ponraj, (1973--M), celeberated the marriage of his daughter Ms. Pearline,B.E. at St.Peter's Church,
Tanjore, on Thursday the ,29th of December, 2011. Chapter members offered greetings to the married couple.
The regular meeting started with the members observing ONE MINUTE SILENCE to the death of Mr.K.Ramakrishna
(aged 98), father of Mr. Balagangatharan (1967 -T), & mother of Mr.K.Rajesh Kumar.
The guest speaker for the evening was Mr. Rajesh of M/s Rajarajeswari Industries, Trichy who spoke on "Acupuncture
& Varma Kalai".
Acupuncture as Mr.Rajesh explained is a component of health care system traced back to2500 years (Approx).
Thereare patterns of "EnergyFlow" through our body called "Meridians" or"Channels" which maintain the health.
Disruptions to these flows are believed to be responsible for diease. Acupuncture at definable points close to the skin
using sterilise nrrdles made of stainless steel corrects these imbalances.
There are about 400 acupuncture points and 20 Meridians / Channels connecting all these points. Meridians are
classified as 12 Standard & 8 Extradionary Meridians. Selection of Meridian & Pressure points for acupuncture cures
the dieases.
"Varma Kalai" is a part of healing & harming. "Varma Adi" (hitting vital parts) is an essential art when properly done shall
cure dieases. "Adi Murai" (Law of hitting) teaches methods to attack pressure points of the human body.
This art is practised in almost all parts of Tamilnadu & some parts of Kerala. This art also has paralles in Chinese Martial
arts, which appear tobe derived from"Varma Kalai" taught by the third Pallava Prince Bodhidhama. "Varma Adi"
regonises 108 "Marmas", 12 "Padu Marmas" (Death Points) and 96 "Thodu Marmas" (Touch Points).
Members appreciated the talk and Mr.rajesh answered the questions from the members.
This may be published in AUETAA NEWS LETTER.
