The one thing we can say is it has been a great year for riding and I am sure we are all hoping that this weather continues well into the fall. September will be here before you know it and that brings us to the Chapter’s Anniversary Party. This year we will be going to Roger’s Campground and Motel located in Lancaster, NH. It has been a few years since our group has been there and I have heard a few stories could be told of fun times had there. The plans are to continue this tradition. If you haven’t already registered, there are still plenty of rooms. The cost of a room for the weekend (Friday & Saturday Nights), September 7th and 8th, is $109.00 (including tax). Give them a call at 603-7884885 and make sure you mention you are part of the Concord HOG Chapter. What is on the agenda???? A group will leave Heritage on Friday Morning. The time will be announced at the next meeting and on the message board. After getting settled, Friday night will be, weather permitting, an outside movie night. This will be a fun time. Brad Morrison Robert Bowden will be setting up his outside movie theater in the parking lot and we will be seeing a couple of motorcycle themed movies. Saturday, plan on a great ride being lead by Mark Ott, ―Redneck Games‖, a specially prepared meal and, of course, our Annual Anniversary Bon-Fire. You never know there might be a couple of other surprises waiting. Plans are still being made for activities during the fall. As mentioned in the August meeting we are looking into Deep Sea Fishing on Saturday, October 6. The boat will leave Hampton Beach and the cost is $68 for all day fishing including bait. If you need to rent a fishing rod that will be an additional $8. Give me a call or e-mail me if you are interested. Also for those who have always wanted to go Sky Diving…. we are planning the next best thing, Indoor Sky Diving at Sky Venture on Saturday, November 3rd. Again see me if you are interested. The Concord HOGs are always looking for new adventures and if you have any ideas of things we can do as a group let me know, if we can’t get it in this year, we have a whole new year ahead of us. Note from the Road Captain: Mark Ott After our Chapter meeting we rode to The Pit Stop Smokehouse in Westmoreland. The ride out was great as was the food. The ride back was uneventful for the first 3 miles, and then the skies opened up. Thus is the life of riding a motorcycle. Our next ride is the Stampede Ride to the State Rally at Loon Mountain on Thursday, August 16 th. This is a police escorted ride led by George Pollinger and should be a blast as there are over 400 registered participants for the rally. Saturday, August 25th is a ride to Castle in the Clouds in Moultonborough, NH. Stands up at 8:00a,. The cost for visiting the Castle is $16 PP. After visiting the Castle we will ride to The Yankee Smokehouse for lunch. Saturday September 1st is a ride to the Great Corn Maze in Danville, VT. Be sure to bring your helmets. This is an 8:00 a, departure time and will be led by Waynne Froman. As always, watch the message board for any last minutes changes or for further information. Ride Often and Be Safe. It is our desire to make all new members feel welcome. By publishing your photo it helps us to put a name to a face. Membership Report - Joel Daniels We now have 157 members! We have continually added new members throughout the summer; which is a good thing. When you see someone you don’t know, please introduce yourself and welcome them into the Concord HOG Chapter. Who knows – it might even be an old member that you are meeting for the first time! It’s incredible that it is into August already. We have had some spectacular weather for our rides thus far. Though I do have to say – coming back from the Pit Stop in Westmoreland was an adventure. I did not like the lightning striking all around me. And did it pour buckets! I am in the process of aligning our records with National HOG records. While doing this, I have noticed some National memberships have or will imminently expire. I will be sending e-mail reminders to those affected. Not much else is happening on the membership front. If you have any questions or concerns over membership, don’t hesitate to talk to me or send an e-mail (joelddaniels@comcast.net). Hope to see all of you at our upcoming events or just out riding on the roads! Stay Safe! Page 10 HIGH ON THE HOG Dealer Corner: Heritage Harley-Davidson Becky Seymour Podsadowski, General Merchandise Manager I hope you all are enjoying this hot weather as much as we are. Summer is in full force and we still have the right riding gear for your ride. Tank tops, t-shirts, and even some mesh riding jackets to keep the ride cool, but keep you protected at the same time. A great example is the Josie 3-in1 Mesh Jacket for women. It has a windproof, removable liner with thumbholes. Also, it has body armor and hydration pockets. A well rounded jacket for any time of the year. Come by to check them out. The men’s Sprocket Leather Jacket is great piece of the 2012 Summer Collection. Perforated throughout the jacket and has a nice vintage, patched look. Being a seasonal item, you will not see too many riders with the same one. If you like to stand out, this is one of the jackets for you. Also, I would encourage all of you to check out our online store. There are plenty of items out there, and some are discounted online, and not in the store. Visit our website and follow the link to the online shopping cart. And lastly, with August comes our Fall 2012 Collection. I would always like you guys to have first dibs on the latest gear and clothing. Please call or email me with any product questions you may have. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.
