THE MISSION OF RAMPART HIGH SCHOOL
Rampart High School, an inclusive learning community dedicated to excellence and growth, prepares
and empowers students to be leaders through the exploration of and engagement in rigorous and
innovative educational and extra-curricular experiences that cultivate character in a respectful and
safe environment.
.
Dear Parents & Students,
Spring 2011
The 2015-16 school year is coming to an end and I would like to thank the entire Rampart community for making it a
successful one. I am continually impressed by the level of support and dedication that makes Rampart a school of
excellence.
Big congratulations to the class of 2016! Their final weeks at Rampart have included many exciting events such as the Senior
Luncheon at the Broadmoor, Prom at Spruce Mountain, After Prom at the Summit, the Senior Celebration and Torch
Assembly, and will culminate in our Graduation ceremony, at the Air Force Academy on May 18th at 6:00PM. This year’s
Senior Top Ten students were honored at a district ceremony on April 25th. Congratulations to Claire Brockway, Ben
Dingman, Zack Fleishhacker, Iryna Glushchenko, Joshua Head, Casey Kraft, Brian Lee, Braedan Shigley, Katie Stevens and
Abel Waller.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank the Rampart Parent Organization and all the parents and staff, who volunteered to
chaperone at Prom and After Prom. Providing a safe and fun environment for our students to come together after the dance
takes an incredible amount of time, coordination, and dedication.
The 2015-16 school year saw many fantastic student and school accomplishments. From the first to the last day of the school
year our students performed in the classroom, on the courts and playing fields, on stage, and in the concert halls in a manner
that makes us proud. I would like to highlight the following students in our final newsletter:
Rampart senior, Claire Brockway, Bailey Florek, Stefani Strong were named to the 2016 Gazette’s Best and Brightest
list. A wonderful and well deserved honor.
This year we had a number of students who represented the Rampart Visual Arts department at the Young People Art
Exhibit presented at the Imagination Celebration Center in the Citadel Mall. Rampart students placed in the following
areas Ceramics, functional: Mirei Sugita, first place, Drawing black and white: Chloe Shaw, third place, Drawing color:
Gabriella David, second place, Color Photography: Ryan Harper, second place (dh) and Mixed Media 2-d: Lauren
Hyun, first place.
Yearbook and KRAM students participated in the Journalism Educator Association National High School Awards and
out of 15 categories had ten 1st place awards, one 2nd place award, and two 3rd place awards.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has just released the final rankings for school fundraising this year. Out of more
than 27,000 schools, Rampart was named the #2 school in the nation! As always, a huge congratulations belongs to
Student Council, KRAM, Mr. Andersen and the entire Rampart community!
A big thank you to the theater program who through wind and snow put on a very successful Spring Musical with their
performance of the Boyfriend.
Please take the time to review this newsletter as it contains important information for next year. Please have the safest and
most relaxing summer possible as we prepare to share in another successful year together.
Sincerely,
Pete Alvarez

Staff Appreciation Luncheon
Thank you to all the parent volunteers who helped make the 2016 RHS Staff Appreciation
Luncheon a success! Many parents donated salads, appetizers, chips, beverages, and desserts.
Others contributed their time to set up and clean up for the event. Our Rampart faculty and staff
enjoyed a meal catered by Texas Roadhouse, Kneader's, and Marco's. Using a portion of
proceeds from November's Craft Bazaar, RPO was also able to purchase two air poppers and
supplies as an ongoing gift for the faculty's "Popcorn Fridays". On behalf of the Rampart Parent
Organization, thank you for partnering with us to show the staff our appreciation.
