For the first time, Ford Motor Co. is making the Mustang a world car and with that, they hope to meet the pent-up demand for the pony car and in the process, make the Mustang the World’s Best Selling Sports Car. Shelby American is ready with a network of global mod-shops, as well as upfitments, for the entire family of new Mustangs including the hot-selling, 2.3L, 4-cylinder turbo EcoBoost – the best selling Mustang platform in America. As you will learn in the attached video, a lot of development and testing went into delivering a Shelby experience in the V8 Shelby GT’s little brother. The Shelby GT EcoBoost is more than bold, new graphics and carbon fiber. It comes with the proper Ford Performance suspension, Wilwood brakes, WELD Venice wheels and more power (to name a few) that make it a proper Mustang: A Shelby Mustang. From the functional hood scoops in the carbon fiber hood (which help to dramatically lower the temperatures of the supercharger and engine by as much as 100F) to the best type of tire to use, we left no stone unturned. When it came to selecting a wheel partner, Shelby chose WELD Racing. The new Venice wheels WELD developed for the Shelby GT are CNC-machined from a single block of 6061-T6 aluminum and at only 28lbs and over 1,700lbs in Rotational Movement of Inertia (RMOI), these are the strongest wheels by weight that Shelby’s ever run. 13 Shelby American Newsletter | Fall/Winter 2015 Polished Black Machined Black The 20” Shelby GT Venice Wheels are available in 3 iterations: Black, Machined Black, and polished Aluminum and perfectly complement the new (and old) Mustangs with 9.5” in the front and 10.5” in the rear. Plus the Venice wheels have been treated with Advanced Tactical Coating (ATC) - a nano-ceramic clear coating to help preserve and protect the finish and durability of the wheels. The original band clamp may become loose over time and cause pressure reading errors. And if you’re replacing wheels and tires, you don’t need to worry about sourcing larger bands to accomodate aftermarket wheels. Contact one of our SPP associates to order yours today. From Thursday, March 3, through Sunday, March 6, 2016, in Las Vegas, the four-day event will focus on getting behind the wheel with track days and hot-laps at Spring Mountain Ranch, car cruises and more, such as parties at the Shelby American International world headquarters and exclusive tours. “Each year, we find new ways to give Team Shelby Club members an action-packed weekend of motoring excitement,” said Tracey Smith, Team Shelby National Director. “Team Shelby was founded to encourage people to get out and really enjoy their vehicle, so our 2016 event is based on that vision.” 16 Shelby American Newsletter | Fall/Winter 2015 Team Shelby will kick off the four-day event with a reception at the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas on Thursday, March 3, 2016. Starting Friday, Team Shelby guests can enjoy two days of action-packed excitement such as track events including hot laps in the latest Shelby American vehicles at Spring Mountain Ranch. “From having safe fun on the track to spirited wheel to wheel action and hot laps in our latest Shelby vehicles, all of the activities at Spring Mountain Ranch will deliver a shot of adrenalin,” noted Gary Patterson, Shelby American Vice President of International and Strategic Sales, who is also a test driver and instructor. “For those who are not inclined to get on the track, Team Shelby will guide guests through the stunning Valley of Fire on Friday and a scenic Poker Run on Saturday. The theme is to get behind the wheel with fellow enthusiasts.” 17 Shelby American Newsletter | Fall/Winter 2015 Because community is a key part of the event, Team Shelby will host a pair of parties at the Shelby American world headquarters. Friday night will be casual with live entertainment and a barbeque at SAI. On Saturday evening, Shelby American will host an official banquet in Las Vegas with high profile speakers, VIP guests, Shelby legends and special video presentations. Team Shelby will honor the 50th anniversary of the Shelby American and Ford victory at Le Mans in the Ford GT and the anniversaries of the Ford Shelby G.T.350H cars during the ceremony. “While we’ll once again celebrate Shelby’s great history, we’re putting a special emphasis on fun behind the wheel this year,” added Ms. Smith. “Carroll believed that driving should be an adventure, so he wanted the Team Shelby Bash to be much more than just a chance to look at cool cars and cruise the Las Vegas strip. We believe that the best way to enjoy the high octane Shelby lifestyle is from the driver’s seat.” Visit teamshelby.com for more information about the Team Shelby Bash. Back to Table of Contents 18
