2016 Community Partnership Campaign
DEAR COMMUNITY BUSINESS PARTNERS,
As we plan our programs and events for 2016, we are seeking your support through a sponsorship
donation. Dixon Main Street is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization since 1996, therefore, we rely
on the support of our community. As you consider becoming a Dixon Main Street sponsor, please
take into account some of the benefits you will receive:
BENEFITS OF BECOMING A MAIN STREET SPONSOR

PUBLIC VISIBILITY
Your sponsorship is a means of advertising for your
business. Dixon Main Street advertises its sponsors on a
variety of media platforms. Your level of sponsorship
directly reflects the amount of advertising you will receive.



ENHANCE IMAGE
Your sponsorship aligns your business with the
community and shows the public and other businesses
that the community’s image and success is important to you.

CREATE A LASTING IMPRESSION
The people that attend the events, fellow business
partners and our volunteers, will recognize your support
and in turn, will support you. Your sponsorship will instill
community pride and partnership.

BE A PART OF DIXON CHANGE
This next year will be a time of change and growth for Dixon
as we develop the Dixon One Concept. Dixon Main Street
will become part of this new initiative but will
maintain its goals and mission as an agency.
ENTERTAIN THE COMMUNITY
You will have the opportunity to interact
with other businesses, individuals and
public officials in a fun, social
environment.
KEEPING THE FOUNDATION STRONG
Dixon Main Street is focused on keeping
the core of our community vibrant and
thriving through historic preservation,
promotions, events, business relationships and marketing. We know that a
strong downtown makes Dixon a more
enticing place to start a business, raise a
family, and a great place for tourists to
visit. The Dixon Main Street philosophy
enhances public service, stabilizes the tax
base, and provides a springboard for a
successful community.
Dixon Main Street would like to thank you for your time and consideration.
Please let us know if you have additional questions about our programs, events or sponsorship opportunities.

DIXON ONE — A NEW WAY OF THINKING AND WORKING TOGETHER
Dixon Main Street is soon to be part of the Dixon One coalition. We aim to maintain the same
philosophy, goals and vision that has given Main Street strength to enhance programs, the downtown
shopping district and events in Dixon for the past 20 years.
The Dixon One Task Force will present a plan to the Dixon City Council regarding the logistics of merging
the involved groups. This will be completed prior to the 2016 Event Season. The city has purchased a
building at 87 S. Hennepin Ave. to house the organizations involved with Dixon One. This is an exciting
time of change for the City of Dixon. With the coordination of marketing, event production and working
together, the groups can be more effective with the Dixon One.
THE DIXON MAIN STREET
MISSION
Since 1996, Dixon Main Street has been an active,
strong and exciting organization focused on the
prosperity of downtown Dixon and the city as a
whole. We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization
built and sustained by countless volunteers who
are passionate about the services and events that
Main Street provides. Our mission statement is
simple: To foster teamwork, revitalize the
economic base of the community, improve the
appearance of the downtown area, and promote
Dixon as the vibrant place to live, work and play.
THE DIXON MAIN STREET
VISION
Dixon Main Street’s vision for the future is to
enhance downtown Dixon’s rich history while
continuing to develop our diverse events, dining,
arts, cultural and shopping opportunities.
Anchored by our premier riverfront, downtown
Dixon offers a family friendly destination that is
unique and inviting for visitors and residents
alike. Dixon is an active and modern downtown
that keeps its roots in the historic fabric that has
made our city great since 1830. All of this makes
Dixon a wonderful destination place and a fantastic place to call home.
THE FOUR POINT COMMITTEE APPROACH OF MAIN STREET
The following committees meet to complete annual work plans, which are created to guide activities and
events and provide a measure for success in the Dixon Main Street organization.
1. ORGANIZATION
This committee is charged with building consensus and cooperation among the many groups and individuals
who have a role in the revitalization process. They work to market Main Street and its goals to the community
and to recruit new volunteers and members.
2. PROMOTION
Marketing downtown’s assets to customers, potential investors, new businesses, local citizens and visitors is
the main role of this committee. The group also works to market the downtown as a “fun” and exciting place
to visit and shop through annual events and retail promotions.
3. DESIGN
This group works toward enhancing the physical appearance of downtown by capitalizing on its assets and
heritage. Maintaining historic buildings, encouraging sensitive new construction, developing design
management systems and long term planning fall under the Design Committee.
4. ECONOMIC RESTRUCTURING
This committee works toward strengthening downtown’s economic base while finding ways to expand it to
meet new opportunities for development. This group looks at ways to improve retail mix, build a stronger tax
base and create a stable role for the downtown as a major component of the community’s economic health.
