Explore further
Our ultimate world cruise unlocks the
most beautiful environments, giving you
the freedom to explore diverse cultures and
climates without restriction. Whether you
want to walk in the shoes of Polar explorers,
pushing through the ice of the Northwest
Passage, or delve deep into the rainforest,
travelling 2,000 miles down the Amazon River,
the possibilities for exploration are endless.
8
Ahead in the Poles
Sky Hawk has an Ice Class 1C rating, designed with a strengthened
hull that pushes through new ice, giving exceptional access to the
unspoilt and majestic scenery of the Polar Regions.

Ice strengthened hull
Expedition style Sea Chests
Designed for safe navigation in icy waters,
the hull can push through 40cm of first
year ice.
In the Polar Regions there is a chance of
ice and slush entering sea chests and inlets,
which can block seawater flow to the ship’s
systems. To avoid this, compressed air and
steam may be introduced to clear the ice
and slush.
Reinforced Ice Belt
The hull has thicker plates and narrower
frame spacing at the bow and around the
waterline, which protects the hull from
ice interaction.

Heated shell door seals
Heated seals avoid the chance of door seals
freezing in cold climates.
high-power boiler for
cold environments
To operate comfortably in cold climates our
yachts are designed with high-power boilers
and heating systems.
Oversized propellers
and machinery
All yacht machinery has been developed to
meet the requirements of ice interaction
and polar expeditions.
Designed for ice accretion
Sky Hawk is designed to be stable when
interacting with ice accretion.

Keeping systems
in check
Incorporating state of the art
technology, Sky Hawk offers extensive
remote monitoring of the engines and
machinery. It detects required maintenance
up to 6 months in advance and alerts to
critical cases 7–30 days in advance.
As a result, problems and operational
trends are spotted before failures occur,
resulting in proactive maintenance,
optimum times between overhauls,
less downtime and reduced costs.
12
Sail beyond the sea
Not only is Sky Hawk able to withstand polar climates,
it is equally capable in tropical climates, with the ability to
travel through warm waters and up silty rivers, opening up
the wonders of this unique but challenging environment.

Effective cooling capacity
Freshwater production
Water temperatures in the Amazon can
reach up to 36°C, putting a strain on ship
systems. The oversized cooling capacity
system keeps engines from overheating
whilst travelling in hot waters.
Producing freshwater is crucial for a trip to
the Amazon. A reverse osmosis plant will
be installed that produces freshwater from
brackish water and saltwater, as well as a UV
disinfection system.
Oversized air
conditioning systems
Maintenance friendly
water intakes
Air-conditioning will be installed that is
capable of dealing with extremely high
temperatures, humidity and condensate.
Tropical river waters are often silty,
increasing the likelihood of blockages in
the engine cooling systems. Our systems
are easily accessed for cleaning in such
conditions.
Insect Filters and
Pollen Barriers
At sunset in tropical regions, there tends
to be large amounts of insects in the air.
Easily accessible filters will be installed so
that insect blockages in air conditioning
filters can be cleaned away.
Oversized propellers
and machinery
The yacht’s machinery and systems are
engineered to withstand interaction with
floating logs and debris.

Beautiful design
in practice
The innovative Hawk Bow shape
seamlessly combines beauty and functionality.
It encloses the forecastle at the front of
the ship, protecting systems that can get
damaged or worn in heavy seas. The shape is
designed to throw aside large waves instead
of scooping them up. This makes for more
comfortable and efficient sailing through
heavy seas.
The hull is beautifully engineered to be
comfortable in a range of different conditions,
from short steep waves in the North Sea, to long
waves in the Southern Ocean. The innovative
hybrid shape is ice friendly—able to push
through smaller pieces of ice and pack ice—
as well as being designed for economic sailing
and low resistance, with a fine entry and an easy
run. It has large bilge keels and fin stabilisers for
steady sailing.

Socialise in style
A room with a view
Sky Hawk’s social spaces include a flybridge
for incredible panoramic views, indoor/
outdoor dining, a fireside lounge, large sun
areas with hot tubs and a winter garden.
Sky Hawk is designed to offer incredible
views of the surrounding landscapes, with
panoramic views from most of the social
spaces and cabins, but the star of the show
is the owner’s cabin with 180° forward
facing views from the bedroom, a private
walk around terrace and a hot tub.
Relax in luxury
Guests can relax in exceptional luxury on
board, with expansive living spaces and
options for a swimming pool, beach club and
spa or an additional helipad and hanger.
On-board exploration
To keep guests entertained and reveal more
about their surroundings, we’ve included
an explorer’s lounge, science station and
seating in the bridge so that guests can
explore the workings of the ship.
Fly-in, fly-out
Sky Hawk has been designed with a touch
and go helipad at the front and an option
for a second helipad and hanger at the rear.

Self sufficiency
Long haul range
Sky Hawk is designed to operate away
from ports and infrastructure and maintain
safe operation in remote locations,
with redundant systems built-in
where possible.
Sky Hawk has a 7,500nm range at 12kn.
Expedition Side gates
The expedition gates provide
separate areas to prepare for expeditions,
and ensure that guests can disembark for
landing and moving on to the supporting
tenders safely.
Custom designed
expedition tenders
The enclosed, side-launching tenders
are specifically designed to cope with
extreme conditions, and have interior
seating for travelling further afield in cold
or humid climates.
Fuel tanks
We have avoided fuel tanks being in contact
with the shell anywhere forward of amidships
to avoid the chance of fuel spillage.
Ocean waste regulation
On board incinerators for burning waste and
sludge, biological sewage treatment, metal
shredders for storage, cooled waste storage
and sophisticated grey water treatment
facilities minimise the effect of ocean waste.
