As the largest municipal park in BC, Kenna Cartwright encompasses almost 800 acres of Mount Dufferin and includes more than 40 kilometres of well-marked trails, popular with both hikers and mountain bikers. Known as a world-class destination for canoeing, rafting, kayaking, fly-fishing, hiking, camping and horseback riding, it is a must stop. Within the park, experience the stunning vistas of high mountains, deep canyons, volcanic cones, brooding old-growth forests and raging whitewater rivers. Kamloops Bike Ranch/Tyler Meade Paul Lake. When the summer arrives, many locals and visitors head to Paul Lake to enjoy watersports, hiking, and relaxing in a gorgeous setting. Set among the Douglas fir, pine and aspen trees, the 670 hectare Paul Lake Provincial Park, located just 17 km northeast of Kamloops, offers long sandy beaches, boat launches and over 7km of hiking trails. Riverside Park Lac Le Jeune. Approximately 30km south of Kamloops, Lac Le Jeune is a popular 213 hectare recreation area where you can camp, swim, hike, bike, boat, fish and enjoy a spectacular natural setting surrounded by lodgepole pines and a protected marshland. Use the park as a base to explore other lakes like Walloper and Stake, where the trails come alive in the winter with cross-country skiers.
