Enjoy May and All It Has to Offer Winner winner Chicken dinner! That’s it? April was a rewarding month for the Village. It was our pleasure to have a team of volunteers work with the Special Olympics Area 13 Summer Games this year. Even the rain could not dampen the spirts of the children participating in the games. The field was full of hopeful Special Olympic candidates hoping to win a ribbon. Our group of residents and staff; Mia, Doris, Loretta, Mary, Cindy and Angela helped out in the concession, while Kendall, John, and Roger ran the grill cooking burgers and hot dogs. All the volunteers proved to be a blessing to the Special Olympic representatives. It was a great team effort. Thanks team for enriching the lives of those special kids. Spring clean-up in the City of Blytheville was another great volunteer day for the Village. We cleaned up Louisiana Street all the way to the water tower. I can say without a doubt that our residents had more stamina and perseverance than I did. Doris Marks at 92 can run circles around me. Congratulations team for a job well done. Bingo is GREAT! I hope everyone is looking forward to Monday Night Out at the Café on Monday, May 18th. Our menu is spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread and salad with carrot cake for dessert. Sounds delicious!
