Our work takes us to nearly every continent, and our projects range from intimate to epic. • Address the aging structure and outdated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure • Enhance the performance experience in Springer Auditorium • Improve accessibility & audience amenities • Improve back-of-house production capabilities and efficiency • Restore Corbett Tower • Restore bricked-over window openings and façade − Make necessary repairs and improvements to aging building structure − Perform asbestos abatement − Improve mechanical systems for efficiency − Modernize lighting systems for efficiency − Update & expand restroom plumbing − Upgrade all seats and reduce depth of seating area under balcony − Improve accessibility at all levels for audience members with disabilities − Provide a universally exceptional visual & acoustic experience − Restore grand chandelier − Add 3rd lift to project performers deeper into auditorium, enhance acoustics, and provide maximum flexibility − Add accessible entrance with interior box office and 2 new passenger elevators in South Hall − Upgrade lobby finishes for compatibly with historic character − Double number of restroom fixtures per audience member − Add family restrooms and more accessible restrooms − Relocate & improve concessions areas, gift shop & coat check − Reconstruct stair alongside new escalator in south lobby − Add second large rehearsal space above paint shop, with potential to also serve as additional small performance space − Add state-of-the-art lighting and theater controls − Add trap room below stage to enhance capabilities of Opera − Add second loading dock − Connect paint and scene shops; raise floors to stage level & remove column in path between production shops and stage − Expand music library & upgrade storage system, consolidating collection currently stored in multiple locations − Upgrade dressing rooms, practice rooms, and other performer support areas − Renovate CSO, CAA & SPMH offices with more efficient floor plans − Repair aging structure above ceiling − Restore original coved ceiling, adding 14’ of height to the room − Restore Elm Street windows to original height − Provide catering kitchen and support area − Upgrade and enhance finishes − Replace bricked openings with new windows at Elm Street façade to restore historic integrity and add improve natural lighting − Add accent lighting on primary façade and illuminate rose window − Replace current plaza lighting to ensure audience safety and visibility − Remove ramp and non-historic canopy, replace sidewalk & plaza and repair steps to unify palette with Washington Park $129 MM Total Budget − $53 MM Private Donations − $48 MM Tax Credits − $10 MM City of Cincinnati $123 MM committed to date − $6 MM Ongoing City pledge − $5 MM State of Ohio [3] Phases of Work − Phase I: Summer 2015 Complete — Underground soil stabilization and removal of stage column — Work completed in August 2015 − Phase II: Winter 2016-Spring 2017 Begins in November — Back-of-house asbestos abatement and initial construction — 2015-2016 performance season not affected — CSO & Opera offices move offsite in winter 2015/16 to allow construction work to begin − Phase III: June 2016-Sept 2017 Drawings in Process — Complete shutdown for renovation
