Introduction
Frankfurt 2014 will be remembered as the exhibition where the same company, TEXA, won an incredible two innovation awards out of the nine available.
Indeed, TEXA’s connected vehicle and augmented reality solutions to assist vehicle repairs received the highest score from the judging panel in Frankfurt. Together
with these prestigious awards were excellent places obtained with the new motorcycle RPM gauge (RCM) and the KONFORT 780R Extreme, currently the most
advanced and complete solution for air-conditioning system maintenance and recharging, capable of managing both R134 and the new R1234yf at the same time.
As well as these awards, two further important recognitions were received at the recent Moscow exhibition, specifically the “Golden Wrench” award based on a
survey conducted among Russian workshops, and the German “Best Brand” prize for the TEXA TRUCK solutions.
Other extraordinary news from Frankfurt concern AXONE S and the company’s solutions for TPMS programming and maintenance.
The new AXONE S is the smallest in the prestigious and renowned AXONE family. The new product is fast, easy-to-handle and powerful, and is perfect as the
second tool in more advanced workshops, or as the primary product in specialist centres such as tyre fitters, FAST-FIT centres or service stations.
With AXONE S TPS, TPS and the TPS KEY for AXONE S, AXONE 4 and AXONE 4 Mini, TEXA can now offer a vast choice of options to meet the maintenance requirements that workshops will need to face in the very near future, following the compulsory introduction of tyre pressure monitoring systems on all vehicles.
The Frankfurt exhibition will also showcase the TEXA “Connected Vehicle” solutions, the next revolution in the world of vehicle diagnostics and repairs.
Workshops that adopt TEXA CARe will be able to offer customers a new solution to their vehicle maintenance requirements.

This year’s Automechanika Frankfurt also sees
extraordinary new releases concerning new diagnostic tools, made-to-measure for all professionals operating in the world of vehicle repairs:
AXONE S, the small yet powerful member of the
AXONE family. An extraordinarily Multi-utility tool
whose various utilities (TPS utility, FAST-FIT utility, CAR diagnostics utility, BIKE diagnostics utility)
make it the ideal companion for the many professionals who work in the different specialist vehicle
repair segments.
A new range for TPMS systems. At Frankfurt 2014,
TEXA is introducing a series of solutions that allow
vehicle repair technicians to carry out operations,
simply and professionally, on tyre pressure monitoring systems, which will be compulsory on all
passenger vehicles in Europe starting 1 November
this year.
NAVIGATOR TXBs is the latest generation diagnostic interface developed specifically by TEXA for
use in bike and marine engine diagnostics whose
advanced hardware allows communication with all
existing diagnostics protocols.
The BT-200 augmented reality glasses, developed by TEXA in collaboration with Epson Italy for
workshop operations using augmented reality resources, offer vehicle repair technicians the possibility to simply and intuitively access a wide range
of useful vehicle maintenance information.
Important news concern the other developments
of the diagnostic coverage also, which is even more
complete thanks to the introduction of vehicles that
are not very common. TEXA, once again, confirmed
itself as the number 1 choice in diagnosis.
AXONE S
THE FIRST MULTIUTILITY TOOL
Today, all vehicle repair professionals, from traditional mechanics to tyre centres, service station
operators (who carry out oil changes and small
maintenance), FAST-FIT centre technicians and so
on, need to have a diagnostics tool capable of providing them safe, fast and professional assistance.
AXONE S is the response to these changes in the vehicle repair market. A tool
that, with its brand-new IDC4 software
(configured for the various utilities), has
been designed and developed especially to ensure the highest performance in vehicle repair operations, backed by the latest generation Android™
operating system.
AXONE S provides direct access to all basic functions: ERRORS, PARAMETERS, ACTIVATIONS,
SETTINGS, etc., switching from one function to the

...this is the simple and easy-to-use CAR and BIKE
tool that is ideal for both large workshops that need
an additional support tool or want all mechanics
to have their own personal, portable tool, and for
vehicle repair technicians who want to respond to
customer needs with a diagnostics solution that
is simple, yet at the same time uses all the typical
functions of the famous IDC4 software, such as:
TGS3s: this amazing automatic function
scans all the diagnosable ECUs on a vehicle. After an extremely rapid scan, TGS3s
processes the results, flags up any problems and
permits access to each individual system for autodiagnostics.
SCAN VIN: this function identifies the exact
model of vehicle as soon as its VIN code is
entered.
“SOLVED PROBLEMS”: This function interrogates
TEXA’s databases to search for repair procedures that have been tried and tested by mechanics
around the world and collected by TEXA’s international call centres.
TECHNICAL BULLETINS: These provide accurate information on the selected vehicle,
including instructions for performing manual service resets, overviews of specific electromechanical systems and much more besides.

STEERING
AND STEERING COLUMN
Calibrating steering angle sensors has become an extremely
frequent task, but needs to be
done correctly to avoid wasting
valuable time. A complete and
reliable tool is essential to calibrate steering sensors, since accurate information must be obtained
on how to perform the procedure exactly as the
manufacturer requires.
SERVICE RESETS
Nowadays, nearly all new models
require the SERVICE warning to
be reset after ordinary maintenance operations like oil changes, fuel and cabin filter replacements. The AXONE S FAST-FIT
utility makes this job easy by providing accurate
information and permitting service warnings to be
reset quickly and professionally.
INSTRUMENTS
AXONE S with the FAST-FIT
utility lets you change INSTRUMENT PANEL settings too. On
some BMW models in particular,
you can change the language displayed on the instrument panel.
With AXONE S FAST-FIT, you can change the language of the car’s control system to suit its owner’s
preferences in just a few minutes.
BATTERY/STARTER MOTOR
Some makes, BMW and AUDI for
example, have adopted a special
battery control system to identify
and manage battery parameters.
When a new battery is installed,
the system has to be re-configured to allow the new battery to be recognised
as part of the electrical system and its functioning
optimised. TEXA AXONE S lets you complete this
procedure quickly and easily.
AIR-CONDITIONING/HEATING
On recent models, recharging
the air conditioning system is
not enough to restore correct
functioning. On many MercedesBenz cars, for example, the air
conditioning control unit has to be reset after recharging, or the system will not work.
The AXONE S lets you perform this task easily and
provides specific sets of checks and codes for vehicle air conditioning systems.
HEADLIGHTS/TAIL
LIGHTS/INDICATORS
Many vehicles today are equipped with headlights that modify
their angle to suit the load. These
systems require frequent re-calibration. In these systems, each
headlight is equipped with a position sensor that
has to be correctly calibrated. Impressive diagnostic resources allow IDC4a FAST-FIT software to
adjust and test the alignment of xenon headlights
effortlessly.
TPMS
AXONE S - TPS UTILITY
AXONE S Utility TPS: road safety has always been
an important issue for the governments of all
countries. The will to create roads each day safer
and at the same time to reduce the environmental impact of road transportation, encouraged the
European Community to implement a law that requires all vehicles sold starting from November 1st
2014 to have a tyre pressure control system.
Therefore, vehicle manufacturers have identified
essentially two systems: an indirect system, which
take advantage of the technology of the vehicle’s
ABS/ESP system; and a direct system that uses the
sensors mounted on the tyre valves which transmit
the operating parameters, such as the actual pressure measurement, the temperature, the motion,
the battery status and the ID to the management
control unit using the battery they are equipped
with.
Consequently, any operator that works with tyres
(including tyre shops) must integrate the traditional equipment, like tyre removers, equilibrators, etc.

and their replacement, programming new ones or
cloning their ID, to reprogramming the control unit

TEXA TPS
...THE TYRE SPECIALIST
TPS, Tyre Pressure Service, is TEXA’s stand-alone
tool for tyre-related operations. TPS boasts an
exceptional coverage of makes and models as
well as TEXA’s traditionally robust design and build
quality.
Once the vehicle has been selected, TPS dialogues
with the valve sensors on each wheel. Placing the
tool near the sensors activates them and lets you
check their efficiency even if they are in stand-by
mode at the time. The tool’s own display reads
out pressure, temperature and battery charge level
(where available), as well as the identification codes and other diagnostic information provided by
the vehicle manufacturer.
The procedure is simplified by a highly intuitive
menu that guides you through all options step by
step.
TPS lets you check the condition of sensors and
replace them if necessary. The tool’s own built-in
database provides a list of compatible spare parts
for each selected vehicle. TEXA’s vast database
also provides other items of valuable information,
including correct procedures for rotating tyres.
If a sensor is replaced by a universal spare part,
TPS can even program the new sensor to assign
it the same identification code as the old one (ID
CLONE) and link it to the receiver or vehicle control
unit.
All data read by TPS can also be transmitted via a
Bluetooth link to a Windows PC running the IDC4
software, to AXONE 4 and AXONE 4 Mini.
Subscriptions are available for users wishing to
receive the latest make and model updates from
TEXA.
TPS also uses its radio link capabilities to provide a
valuable additional function. The tool can dialogue
with remote door opening systems and even check
the remote control battery charge level (KEY FOB).

TPS KEY is an extraordinarily technological tool
that, using its USB port, can extend the functions of

THE NEW BIKE AND MARINE INTERFACE
NAVIGATOR TXBs is the latest generation diagnostic interface developed by TEXA for use in the bike
and marine environments.
This advanced tool is the natural successor to
NAVIGATOR TXM and NAVIGATOR TXB and allows
mechanics to handle a large number of jobs on
motorcycles, scooters, quads, jetskis, outboard and
inboard engines with the utmost professionalism.
Tasks include reading and cancelling errors, displaying engineering parameters and ECU states,
activating devices, changing settings and configurations, resetting warning lights, configuring ECUs,
adjusting carburation and injection timing, and
even programming keys.
NAVIGATOR TXBs plugs into the diagnostic socket and dialogues with AXONE 4, AXONE 4 Mini
and your workshop’s Windows PC over a Bluetooth
wireless link. Older computers without Bluetooth
connectivity can still dialogue with NAVIGATOR
TXBs via its USB port.
An integrated 16 pin CPC connector permits use of
all BIKE and MARINE diagnostic cables, including
those of older solutions, while advanced hardware
characteristics ensure compatibility with all the
protocols currently in use in both environments.

The IDC4 CAR 56 update is the result of an extensive and rewarding period of work for TEXA technicians on implementing and optimising important
diagnostic developments.
The sheer quantity of information and new features
developed means TEXA diagnostics solutions still
represent the best choice for vehicle repair technicians all over the world.
IDC4 CAR 56 encompasses more than 56,000
possible new options for selecting the main vehicle

NEW APPS
TPMS Repair
European legislation requires that
from 1 November 2014, all passenger transport vehicles must be
equipped as standard with TPMS
(Tyre Pressure Monitoring System).
Activating the TPMS Repair App in combination
with TPS KEY allows all tyre-related operations
performed on a daily basis by tyre fitters and FASTFIT centres to be completed with extreme precision. These include:
- tyre change
- summer/winter tyre swap
- valve sensor replacement
- tyre rotation to balance wear
The TPMS Repair APP is available for AXONE 4,
AXONE 4 Mini and PC. On the AXONE S tool, the
same function is available using the TPMS utility.
PRINT SCREEN (for IDC4 PM)
PRINT SCREEN is the new APP
from TEXA that is extremely useful
for technicians, an easy and immediate way to capture the contents of
the diagnostics screen as an image
that can then be saved for subsequent use.
To capture the screen, simply press the new icon
located at the top right on IDC4 PM, at any time
and in any stage of the diagnostics procedures.
The image is saved in JPG format and can be easily
transferred to a PC.
EURO CHECK*
EEURO Check is the innovative APP
that identifies a vehicle’s EURO category.
EURO Check can be used to inform
customers whether or not they can
access restricted traffic zones to specific vehicle
categories.
Identifying the correct vehicle category is in fact a
problem for many drivers: the car logbook normally
only shows codes offering hard-to-interpret information, such as 2003/76 CE B (which corresponds
to Euro 4); EURO Check lets drivers easily understand their vehicle’s emissions class.
Each search also brings up a screen showing all
the emissions limits applicable to the vehicle.
* The EURO CHECK App is only available in Italy.
NEW SOFTWARE FUNCTIONS
REC&PLAY**
During a diagnostics session, the Rec&Play
function can be used to record Parameters, States and Errors. The records are saved on
the SD card associated with the vehicle’s registration number. These can then be played back at any
time using the new Recordings Archive application,
opened directly from Auto diagnostics or from the
IDC4 PM home screen.
NEW SPECIAL FUNCTIONS APP
The Special Functions APP, available for
both AXONE 4 and PC, offers quick access
to a menu of useful workshop diagnostic procedures, including Program Keys/Keyless Remotes, Regenerate Particulate Filter, Change Dashboard Language, Replace Battery and Replace Brake Pads.
Starting from version CAR 56, this APP has been
expanded to include new, highly useful functions:
DRIVER ASSISTANCE
This new category provides easy access to all calibration and programming functions involving
electronic control units dedicated to improving driver comfort and safety. For example, it

program parking sensors and change the settings of
the ECUs that control lane departure warning systems.
All with the help of clear, concise user messages.
TPMS
Tyre pressure monitoring systems are often controlled by ECUs that were originally intended for
completely different purposes. On some
vehicles, the TPMS system is controlled by
the body computer or gateway, for example. In such cases, it can prove difficult to find the
functions controlling TPMS sensors. Thanks to the
TPMS category of SPECIAL FUNCTIONS, users can
access all the functions of the TPS tool to check on
sensor functioning, replace defective sensors and
clone sensor ID.
TRANSPORT MODE PROGRAMMING
This is an extremely useful function, especially for
technicians working with new vehicles with systems still configured in factory mode. When new
vehicles are first delivered to dealerships,
many functions like radio, central locking
and other services are deactivated. The
new “Transport Mode” function lets you activate all
vehicle functions quickly and easily by switching
from “FACTORY MODE” to “CUSTOMER MODE”.
AUTOMATIC VEHICLE SEARCH
The vehicle search function is very useful for quickly
and precisely identifying the model of vehicle that
diagnostics are being carried out on. The search function can be activated by running an automatic scan
or alternatively by entering the VIN number
manually. Starting from version CAR 56, the
function has been further developed and
now includes a targeted vehicle scan directly from
the menu, using a button shown alongside the make
and, if results display a number of vehicles, the search can be refined by entering the engine code. This
allows automotive technicians to identify the vehicle
precisely, saving precious time.
NEW TRUCK FUNCTIONS
The new IDC4 TRUCK 33 software incorporates a
vast number of diagnostic developments relating to
commercial and light commercial vehicles and buses. As well as important new diagnostic functions,
this update for the first time provides an extensive
new TecRMI database.
TecRMI Mechanical Data
Following an important partnership agreement with
TecRMI, European leader in the supply of technical
specifications for vehicle diagnostics and repair,
technicians who use TEXA TRUCK diagnostics
tools can now access a huge additional database,
called TecRMI Mechanical Data, full of essential
technical information for vehicle repairs, such as
exhaust emission values, chassis data, brake system, engine torque specifications, lights, tyres and
much more.

NEW MARINE FUNCTIONS
IDC4 MARINE software is continuously evolving,
with each new version offering new diagnostic solutions. Version 8.0.0 introduces the latest developments in diagnostics, technical documentation
(schematics and data sheets) and a large number
of improvements to the diagnostic functions of previous versions.
DEVELOPMENTS IN DIAGNOSTICS
One of the most important diagnostic developments
in MARINE 8.0.0 is the addition of three new brands

In only a few years, TEXA has succeeded in giving
the market a complete range of A/C recharge stations, all offering unrivalled performance.
This exceptional result has been made possible by
a major investment in research and development,
which has also led to TEXA registering a total of
eight patents for eight exclusive solutions.
The first few months of this year have seen a record
number of orders for KONFORT recharge stations.
In fact, the increase in demand has been so great
that TEXA has had to increase production personnel by 50% and increase the number of overtime
hours by 20%.
By the end of this year, TEXA will have produced a
record of nearly 6000 units, with over 1000 configured for the new R1234yf refrigerant. These figures confirm the trust that customers have in TEXA
products, which are 100% made in Italy, completely
reliable and able to guarantee maximum efficiency
and total customer satisfaction.
R1234yf refrigerant has started making major headway into the market in 2014.
Having confirmed that vehicle manufacturers
must use the new, more environmentally friendly
R1234yf refrigerant in newly-approved vehicle
air-conditioning systems from the first of January
2013 (directive 2006/40/EC), early in March 2014,
the European Commission published on its website the results of a scientific survey to demonstrate
that R1234yf does not involve any additional risk
and is safe for use in automotive applications.
In the meantime, production of vehicles using the
new refrigerant is continuing.
DuPont estimates that by the end of 2014, there
will be around 3 million vehicles that use this new
refrigerant. Currently it is used on more than thirty
models of cars made by 20 different manufacturers, in particular:

TEXA is confirming its commitment to innovation
and the continuous development of new solutions
in 2014 by presenting the KONFORT 705R, a brand
new recharge station for vehicle air conditioning
systems using R134a refrigerant.
The KONFORT 705R joins the already complete range of KONFORT 700 A/C recharge stations,
comprising the models 710R, 720R, 760R, 760R
BUS, 770S and 780R BI-GAS, for R134a and the
new R1234yf refrigerant.
KONFORT recharge stations can perform a complete set of diagnostic tests and display A/C system errors, parameters, settings and activations,
thanks to their ability to dialogue with the practical
and advanced NanoService Clima diagnostic tool
over a Bluetooth link.
Using the KONFORT display as a monitor, users can
switch from classic maintenance/service mode to
A/C system diagnostics.
TEXA has designed and developed an innovative
Refrigerant Identifier Kit, used to check - before
starting maintenance operations - the purity of the
refrigerant, both R134a and R1234yf.
TEXA is the only European manufacturer to have
designed and manufactured such a solution. The
Refrigerant Identifier Kit conforms fully to the strict
specifications of the German automotive industry
and has been approved for use by TÜV Rheinland.
It is very important for technicians to use this kit, as
it eliminates the risk of performing operations that
could cause damage to a vehicle or even endanger
personal safety, and therefore protects their business against damage compensation claims.
The Kit moreover prevents dangerous mixing of
refrigerants and instantly shuts down the recharge
station if incorrect or fake refrigerants are detected.
KONFORT 705R
This is TEXA’s entry level recharge station for vehicle air conditioning systems, designed with the precise objective of offering mechanics a simple but
complete unit for all recovery and recharge jobs
involving only R134a refrigerant, at an extremely
competitive price.
The KONFORT 705R possesses the same basic
functions and characteristics as the other models
in the KONFORT Series and therefore represents
an ideal solution for garages committed to offering
customers impeccable service while keeping their
business costs under control.
KONFORT 710R
Like the 705R, the 710R is also designed to satisfy
mechanics’ demand for a new generation recharge
station dedicated specifically to R134a refrigerant.
The 710R differs from the 705R in that it is designed and made using the same technologies found
on the models at the top of the KONFORT Series.
KONFORT 720R
This is the most economical model in the range
that can perform A/C recharging and servicing operations with either R134a or R1234yf refrigerants.
Customers can switch between one configuration
and the other by installing a retrofit kit, specially
developed by TEXA and available as an optional.
KONFORT 760R
The 760R incorporates TEXA’s most advanced
technology: it is equipped with hermetically sealed
oil tanks, a fully automatic maintenance management system, scales locking/unlocking device and
automatic verification of correct refrigerant weight.
The KONFORT 760R can be pre-configured for use
with either R134a or R1234yf. One of the most interesting optionals for this model is the Refrigerant Identifier Kit. The 760R is also available as the
760R BUS, for use with larger vehicle A/C systems.
KONFORT 770S
TEXA developed the KONFORT 770S to meet the
rigorous specifications of German vehicle manufacturers. This model works only with the new
R1234yf refrigerant. It has been homologated by
TÜV Rheinland, the leading international certification body. The 770S is equipped as standard with
a Refrigerant Identifier Kit, an exceptional device
capable of recognising what type of gas is contained in an A/C system.
KONFORT 780R BI-GAS
This amazing recharge station is the top of the
KONFORT Series and offers mechanics the ultimate in performance and in the number of jobs it can
handle. The KONFORT 780R BI-GAS can work with
both refrigerants at the same time, switching from
one type to the other in next to no time thanks to
two separate tanks and a sophisticated flushing
system that effectively and safely cleans out all
the pipes. Equipped as standard with a Refrigerant
Identifier Kit, the 780R BI-GAS is the best recharge
station on the market today and offers garages the
ultimate in performance.

KONFORT 780R, in the Extreme configuration, i.e.
complete with all the accessories and functions
available for a recharge TEXA station, was in fact

The KONFORT 780R Extreme incorporates all the
most advanced solutions currently available for the
servicing of air conditioning systems in this delicate

This version lets you:
- Work with R134a and R1234yf refrigerants,
switching from one to the other in only a few minutes, thanks to the presence of two separate tanks
and recovery, recycling and recharging circuits.
This advanced system avoids you having to purchase two separate recharge stations to service
both pre and post change-over vehicles.
- Identify the refrigerant in a vehicle’s A/C system
(R134a or R1234yf) and verify refrigerant purity to

The European Commission has issued guidelines
for stricter checks and new categories of vehicles
to be tested; in the next few years periodical
inspections on motorcycles will also become
compulsory (in countries where they are not
already in force).
This requires the use of suitable and specific tools for the sector. TEXA has designed RCM, a latest
generation rev counter with its own display and rechargeable battery, specifically for use in the BIKE
environment.
RCM uses a measurement system based on electromagnetic pulses generated by the ignition system to provide an accurate reading of engine
speed.
This advanced measurement technique is extremely useful with faired motorcycles, as it does not
require any fairing parts to be removed in order to
position clamps.
Compact size and ease of use make RCM practical,
reliable and suitable for use by all operators.

Particulate analysis
While on one hand vehicle technology now allows
near-zero polluting emissions, on the other the
type of emissions themselves has changed; the
tendency is towards emissions of increasingly fine
particles that can no longer be effectively measured using current tools. TEXA has for several years
now been developing new technologies that can
also effectively analyse emissions from the latest
vehicles. The solutions that are being presented as
prototypes at the exhibition are PM BOX, a particulate analyser that uses Laser-Light-Scattering
technology, and the new OPABOX Multipath, an
opacimeter capable of measuring emissions in
very low concentrations.
The importance of periodical technical inspections
on combustion engine vehicles has been increasing over the years for two main reasons: greater
attention to protecting the environment, and the
desire to reduce road accident fatalities as much
as possible. To achieve these objectives, the European Union has, over time, established increasingly
requirements regarding both emission limits and
the type of checks to be carried out during periodical inspections.
Specifically, the latest directive has introduced a
new type of check that in coming years will become fundamental for vehicle repair technicians:
checks on electronic safety systems (airbag, ABS,
ESP, etc.). TEXA, always at the cutting-edge in this
sector, already offers a solution that will represent
the starting point for future checks: IDC4 Service
Testing and the VCI Nano Service.
In certain countries, such as Germany, these checks
will already come into force next year. At the exhibition, TEXA will also be presenting the new HU-APP,
an application that using any new generation TEXA
VCI with HU TEST INFO, can carry out all the vehicle
checks needed in the workshop prior to inspection
at an authorised centre.

In line with its policies of innovation and continuous improvement, TEXA has officially launched
its brand new website, www.texa.com.
The new site consolidates TEXA’s already established web presence, which includes a dedicated
YouTube channel with over 100,000 viewings a
year and a Facebook profile that already has over
14,000 followers.
The new site is the result of in-depth research and
implements innovative technologies and solutions,
