Rock Drill Bits
The design and development of reliable and fit for purpose drilling tools has seen enormous strides by HMI to provide a
comprehensive range of PDC drill bits to the market.
With in-house design capabilities utilising 3D modelling, in house machining capabilities and a drive to listen to the clients
requirements.
Together with our PDC cutter supplier, we have the ability to engineer a tool to meet the exacting demands of either HDD or vertical
drilling. Gauge protection can be offered in either tungsten carbide or diamond, the body construction in either steel or Matrix (Sintered
Tungsten carbide alloys), a variety of design, blade/wing configurations, cutter sizes and thread sizes.
We supply PDC bits from 42mm up to 17.5 inches, with steel body hole openers up to 24 inches manufactured in house. Our team
looks forward to discussing your specific requirements with you.

Horizontal Hole Openers, also know as HDD Reamers, are used to
enlarge the pilot hole in Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD).
We offer a range of sizes made to order, with either new or used
TCI cone segments. Different nozzle options are available, to
ensure fluids are directed correctly. Wear protection is offered to
extend the workable life of the body.

All towing heads are manufactured to a high specification using food quality steels and aluminium.
They are zinc plated for corrosion protection.
The standard towing head is best suited to general pipe pulling operations such as slip lining and pipe
uncoiling, as they do not fully seal the pipe against the ingress of fluids and fine particles.
Each size of standard towing head is designed to work over a range of wall thicknesses for a given pipe size,
usually SDR 11 to 17.6, but other ranges are available.
They are manufactured to suit all types and makes of plastic pipe in the size range
16mm (12“) to 630mm (24”).
The Standard towing head has undergone a comprehensive series of tensile tests to ensure that
in general the pipe will fail before the towing head.
The towing head is simply fitted onto the end of a pipe and secured by rotating the pulling eye until tight.
No special tools are required.
