Our 120 employee strong operation serves and supports a large client base which includes Zain, Wataniya Telecom, Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), Kuwait Finance House (KFH), Radisson Hotels, the Ministry of Communications (MoC), and the Ministry of Interior (MoI). Sudan: METCO has been working in Sudan since 2005. We staff 25 employees on site and manage local delivery partners. METCO has designed and installed over 1,300 microwave radio links and close to 500 optical nodes for Zain. We currently maintain the network and plan for its readiness to sustain the deployment of next generation services in the country. METCO has also designed and installed over 1,000 km of optical fiber in full turnkey engagements. METCO has also provided more than 50,000 Ethernet ports for enterprise clients in Kuwait. Iraq Our operations in Iraq started in 2003. With more than 350 employees operating locally, METCO is one of the country’s largest employers within the technology field. We are present in 16 governorates across Iraq, with main offices in Baghdad, Basra, and Erbil. We engage project managers, team leaders, transmission engineers, technicians, tower riggers, as well as administration, logistics and security staff to serve various telecommunications service providers. Our team has supplied, installed, and configured a network of more than 3,000 microwave links across the country, and is currently engaged in its operation and maintenance. In this turnkey engagement, METCO addressed both the active and passive elements of the network. Our local operation has engineered, furnished, installed, and commissioned the Khartoum Ring Project consisting of 40 Gbps IP-MPLS/DWDM rings and 500 km of optical fiber. We also provide support services for the optical network infrastructure and the IP-MPLS / DWDM / SDH transmission network. Oman: METCO was established in Oman in 1998. We engage over 150 employees and partner resources to design, supply, install, and maintain telecommunications solutions for public and private enterprises in the country.
