ATTENTION ALL LINE DANCERS & LINE DANCE WANNABE’S: New Days & Hours Submitted by Shirley Hedge Have you been hearing all the fun your neighbors are having at line dance lessons & great parties? Do you want to see for yourself? If you like to laugh, even at yourself, now you have an opportunity to try line dancing. Even if you’ve never done any type of dancing before, it doesn’t matter, as long as you bring your sense of humor with you. A new beginner’s line dance class starts on Tue., Nov. 3rd in the GH. Lessons are on Tuesday and Thursday from 4-5pm. Lessons are $1 each. Come early & socialize over a cup of coffee (& sometimes cookies), & get to know some new friends. Our people are the best in Pennbrooke. Line dancing is done without a partner, so it is for both women & men. There are many couples that attend. We try to make it a fun activity for those over 50. It builds bone & muscle strength, helps with balance & helps with memory & thinking (unless you’re thinking of the teachers☺) If you have questions, please call Peter Statham 787-9653 or Shirley Hedge 321-4019. Hope to see you there. Activities Scheduling Groups requiring the use of the Grand Hall, Activity Center, or other community facility should schedule their time to include any set-up and knockdown preparations needed. For example, if scheduling an event from four to five PM, that needs table and chair set-ups before, and knockdowns after, the group should book times from 3:45pm to 5:15pm. That way, no overlap will occur between functions. Your cooperation is appreciated. Your support was admirable and tremendously appreciated! Mary Moore, on behalf of the Apple Society Thanksgiving Dinner will be served in the Grand Hall November 26th at 3:00pm. Sign up Monday, November 2nd 10am to Noon & Wednesday November 4th from 1pm till 3pm at the Activity Club. The Activities Club will provide a whole roasted turkey, gravy, dressing, rolls, butter, beverages and table service (Paper Plates, Plastic Silverware, Napkins and Cups) for each table. Each table will have a captain who is responsible for making a menu for the table and contacting all people assigned to that table to assign what menu item to bring and carving utensils. Feel free to bring your own table service if you do not prefer Any questions please contact plastic. Jane Kiel 365-2426 or Betty Doades 321-4007. Scam alert! Hi everyone, first I would like to thank you all for the kind and warm welcome I have received has just made me speechless (which if you have met me is hard to do). I have done a little research and am trying to pull together some of those activities that have been requested. A few of the one’s I would like to see if I could get a response is La Nouba by Cirque de Soleil--This is the most amazing thing you will ever see. If you have never been it’s a must see show in person. La Nouba by Cirque Du Soleil combines the most amazing acrobatics, staging and stunts with a truly humorous and exotic acts. For tickets the cost is $118 which includes show and transportation. There is a sign up sheet in the Activity Center if you are interested please sign up with phone number and I will begin working on it. The trick is to get the tickets well in advance because it just isn’t worth going unless you are in the front row, lower level where all the action is. My next trip I would like to book is 12/19/2009 - 3:00 pm, The Tillis Family Christmas is a lifetime of Christmas memories set to music. Former entertainer of the year, award winning comedian, Hall of Fame songwriter and sometimes movie star Mel Tillis and 2-time Grammy Award Winning daughter Pam Tillis will perform in Silver Springs A group of 30 people would cost $51 for show and transportation. The sign-up sheet is also in the Activity Center. I am working with a different bus company for smaller groups and if I get it setup, of course I will pass the savings onto you. Three days only, December 26th, 27th and 28th is Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the “The Rocketts”. Price for this is $61.45 for lower level seats and then whatever bus price I can get. I would have to set a deadline on this to have time to buy the lower seats before they are all gone so please Sign-up by November 10, 2009. On another note I would like to have Pennbrooke Fairways enter into the Leesburg Downtown Christmas Parade Saturday, December 5th, 2009. I have already started on some of the plans but I really need a Christmas Parade Chairperson. If interested please call me.
