The 2016-2017 season is almost here. Thanks to overwhelming support from McCallum friends across the Coachella Valley and beyond, most of last season’s shows were at or near sell-out. We don’t want you to miss out on seeing your favorite artists, so act today! We have some new shows to tell you about, including Asleep at the Wheel – “Merry Christmas Y’all,” the 50th Anniversary tour of Celtic music legends The Irish Rovers, the very funny Jeanne Robertson, who sold out her McCallum debut in 2014, Canadian rock superstar Randy Bachman, Grammy-winning singer and actor Rick Springfield, and a return visit from the Valley’s favorite blonde, Suzanne Somers… Direct from Las Vegas. Please pay special attention to the programs of Mitch’s Picks, my personal recommendation for artists you may not know, but will be glad you came to see. I’m particularly pleased to present Daniel Belle on January 20th. Daniel is one of the finest singers I have ever heard. Don’t miss this concert! Celebrate the 15th anniversary season of Keyboard Conversations®, Jeffrey Siegel’s wonderful journeys into the back stories of some of the world’s most cherished classical music. There’s so much more, of course. None of which would be possible without the consistent and generous support of multitudes of members, donors, sponsors and Founders. Many thanks for your continued support and we hope to see you often in the new season. The Beach Boys Added Sun, November 20, 3pm & 7pm Per formance $117/97/77/67 You can capsulize most pop music acts by reciting how many hits they’ve had and how many millions of albums they’ve sold. But these conventional measurements fall short when you’re assessing the impact of The Beach Boys. To be sure, this band has birthed a torrent of hit singles and sold albums by the tens of millions. But its greater significance lies in the fact that it changed the musical landscape so profoundly that every pop act since has been in its debt. The Beach Boys are led by Mike Love (lead vocals) and Beach Boy-vet Bruce Johnston (vocals/ keyboards) who along with Jeffrey Foskett (guitar/vocals), Brian Eichenburger (bass/vocals), Tim Bonhomme (keyboards/ vocals), John Cowsill of The Cowsills (percussion /vocals) and Scott Totten (guitar/vocals) continue the legacy of the iconic American band. “Like” us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram for breaking news and behind-the-scenes glimpses at the McCallum’s artists and programs.
