The GLOBALCOM® 5400 Series was designed by our team of dedicated engineers from the ground up to meet the
rigorous demands for Mass Notification and Emergency Communications as set forth by the NFPA (UL-2572) and
European fire and life safety agencies (EN 54-16). While the 5400 Series is the key element for notification in your crisis
management plan, it also excels as the day-to-day communication and paging solution required by the most demanding
environments. From airports, subway and transit stations to hospitals, schools, stadiums, government facilities, office
buildings and factories, the IED 5400 Series delivers the message clearly and concisely when seconds count.

GLOBALCOM® 5400 Integration with vACS Software
Adding a processor running GLOBALCOM® vACS software to a GLOBALCOM® 5400ACS provides the following
capabilities:
• Two-way communications control and announcements between the 5400 Series and 500ACS systems equipped with 510N network cards via an Ethernet Level 2 switched network
• Two-way communications control and announcements between the 5400 Series and GLOBALCOM® vACS systems via an Ethernet Layer 2 switched network or through Ethernet Layer 3 (routed) networks using RTP
• Up to 16 additional channels for recorded message playback and recording
• Text-to-Speech Courtesy Announcement System capabilities
• Flight Announcement System capabilities
• Two-way intercom communications
• Server-based information display capabilities such as Flight Information Displays, Transit Information Displays, Gate Information Displays and up-to-date data displays for manufacturing plants, medical centers, etc.

The IED 5400 Series includes a variety of devices used to create a scalable emergency communications and voice

and operations package that provides
a comprehensive application specific
interface to your IED GLOBALCOM®
system. The software provides an easily
accessible view of your overall system
status and makes system operation
very easy through an intuitive and fully
customizable graphical user interface.
IED DIRECTOR® is the ideal addition to
your GLOBALCOM® system for system
management in complex facilities such
as large airports, public transportation
systems, industrial campuses or retail
centers.

Facility Specific Control Software
IED DIRECTOR® can be deployed in a variety of
locations throughout a facility and can be customized
for any facility layout. The World Trade Center chose
GLOBALCOM® and DIRECTOR® to allow their facility
management personnel the ability to easily facilitate
messaging and monitoring throughout the complex
from a central location.
Visual Paging
IED is leading the way for integrated audio and visual paging systems for paging and message delivery. IED VIS
Software works with GLOBALCOM® 5400 Series, 1000vACS and 510/520ACS systems to automatically deliver fully
synchronized visual text messages to visual display devices such as LCD flat panel displays or LED signs. When not
actively used for a visual announcement, displays can be programmed to showcase a variety of content such as public
service announcements or advertising. Adding VIS to a system assists facilities in compliance with the Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA) by providing a system with the highest degree of message comprehension.
