32 Linear A NEW LINE IN ARCHITECTURE a definitive line in Linear architecture Project: Oak Farm Extension, Allerton, Liverpool Architect: shedkm Products: Linear Natural Blue 440 x 102 x 50mm Oak Farm, located in the Liverpool suburb of Allerton, has been further extended to add additional accommodation and a study. Following many discussions between the Liverpool Planning Authority and architects shedkm, the Linear Natural Blue was chosen to provide a neutral backdrop to the local sandstone used on the original farmhouse buildings. The long narrow bricks enhance the linearity of the extended farmhouse, whilst creating a contemporary statement connected to the original sandstone features by a transitional glass link. The combination of colour and size of the brick units create a modest yet surefooted design - precise and clear, maintaining the typical shedkm momentum of clean detailing throughout. The new range brings together more than 100 individual products in lengths from 290mm up to 490mm in 50mm and 65mm height options. Two new brick textures, Impression and Vestige have been added, with specifiers having the flexibility to blend bricks from across the range. In addition to these new extensions, it is now possible to create a bespoke Linear blend in either a range of different products or sizes, enabling the architect to explore even more innovative and creative designs in this contemporary product. The new Ibstock Linear range now includes clay, ceramic glazed, and stone finished products. Linear As you would expect, in traditional clay you can choose from all of our fantastic brick finishes in an expanded range of colours and textures. Our new stone finish products from Forticrete® come in 4 different finishes - Shot Blasted, Splitface, Burnished Venezia™ and Polished Florentine® and a wide range of colours, providing a further 20+ options to choose from. Glazed bricks are available in a further 4 finishes of Two Tone, Halo, Smooth Glazed and Frosted Glazed.
