Medi-Mex, Inc. is a qualifying 501(c)(3) not-for-profit Christian organization supported by volunteer workers and donor giving. Since 1990 we have delivered semiloads of donated medical equipment and supplies, along with thousands of pounds of food, clothing, and toys. Medi-Mex partners with Casa Hogar Bienvenidos to provide 2 meals a day for 50 children. And we work with Welcome Home Outreach to build homes for families in the name of Jesus Christ. At least once a year we organize Work Groups of kindhearted Americans who travel with us to Mexico’s Baja Peninsula and volunteer their time and various types of expertise. Our groups have consisted of retirees, young people, families, students, and other regular people looking for a meaningful experience. Nurses, doctors, carpenters, electricians, painters, and random helpers have joined us for 7–10 days at a time—building houses, setting up equipment, delivering medicine, and making lasting friendships. If you’d like to be part of a Work Group, use the form in this brochure to let us know! MEDI MEX serving Mexico through Ministry Medi-Mex, Inc. P.O. The destitution of the city of Vicente Guerrero is different from anything we experience in the States. It breaks our hearts, and we want to help. But we know that material poverty is not what defines Rosa and her community. When we learn their names, and experience their hospitality, and laugh with their children—we feel more like them than different from them. Sweating side-by-side with them as we construct each cement block home, we are glad to be part of building a stronger foundation. Smiling together as we hand out school uniforms and supplies, we all understand the brighter future that becomes possible. Throughout each visit, as we serve, and create, and worship with them, we are reminded over and over that these people too are made in the of God.
