I first came across California Superbike
School at a track event, where their coaches
were briefing riders. By the end of the level
two course I found myself doing things on the
bike that I wouldn’t have thought possible for
a rider of my ability and experience
only 48 hours earlier
Matt Roberts, BBC MotoGP presenter
If you listen it will change your riding forever
Tony Hoare
My day at California Superbike School was a revelation. Before I was awkward, unskilled
and stuck in a rut. Now I’m confident, increasingly capable and itching to get on track again.
It really was one of the best days of my life
Dan Aspel
The first proper test of my training came at the Silverstone Thunderbikes.
I was two seconds closer to my rivals, led every race and picked up three
trophies. I put the skills I had learned at CSS into practice all weekend.
It certainly benefitted my racing
Matt Wildee
If you are yet to go on the school I cannot recommend it enough,
to have this amount of fun whilst learning so much is almost criminal
Charlie Oakman
It sounds steep, but I reckon it’ll be more beneficial to your trackday pace
than any bolt-on mod
Emma Franklin
Throughout my career as a rider-improvement guy I keep on asking myself
three questions. What do riders need to do or know to improve?
Then, what is the exact technical point underlying that?
And, once you’ve discovered it, how do you get the point across to them?
Keith Code Founder

I completed level 2 and 3
and my only complaint is
I can’t sleep now because
I can’t wait for my next
track day to practice what I
learnt. The guys who were
in my group on Saturday
and Sunday felt the same
and they travelled up from
Durban and Cape Town.

skills for life
It doesn’t matter what bike you ride. It doesn’t
matter where you ride it. It doesn’t matter how
fast or slow you ride (so long as it’s on tarmac).
All that matters is that you get the corners right.
Once learnt, the cornering skills we have taught you will
be in place for life, not just for road, not just for track,
not just for racing.
Over the last 10 years bikes, electronics and tyres have

When you come to the Schools we will confess,
we have no magic wand, no ‘go faster fairy
dust’, no magic tricks.
What we do have is proven techniques that will work for
all riders, their bikes and their level. What we need from
you is commitment to those workable techniques. So,
bring an open mind, open your eyes and ears and you

YOUR DAY at CSS
• Turn up at 7.00am at your
chosen School
• Sign on, get your riding kit
and your bike checked over
• Be ready in the classroom
for your first seminar
and safety briefing
• Listen, learn and have an
open mind

improve!
At the end of your session
your Riding Coach will debrief you. Time to get back
in the classroom for your
next improvement.
At the end of the day (roughly
6.30pm) we will have a School

amazed at the difference!
expert team
We challenge you to find a team of more
dedicated, trained and qualified coaches
in the art of cornering a motorcycle
anywhere in the world today.
The guys and girls of the California Superbike School
want to see nothing more than you smiling away
at the end of the day, it gives them immense pride
and satisfaction to see you riding better.
From the Wranglers, Shop Keeper, Mechanics and
Coaches we will do everything to ensure you get
the most from the day.
We look forward to seeing you!

Thanks to everyone
for a fantastic day at Stowe
on Monday, level 1. You
sent me away with a huge
smile and a shed load of
confidence. Never thought
I could feel so much

foundations
For any building or structure the first thing that
needs to be done is to build a solid foundation.
That is what Level One is all about.
We will take your riding apart and rebuild it over the day
so it is strong and more solid, a secure foundation in
riding techniques and skills. Without this in place you
cannot build your techniques further. It would be like
building on sand - the structure will be fine for a short
while before it comes crashing down around you.
A solid base produces solid results.

space & time
The amount of Space you have is completely
under your control when your ride. If you can
control space then you can control time too.
More space always creates more time. The issue is that
your eyes will always try and steal space from you as
they constantly scan for danger - real or imagined.
Once your eyes see danger (which they are very good at)
you lose your awareness of space and therefore you lose
time. We put you in control of your eyes.

you are eased into the

The classroom sessions
reinforced my conifidence

Another perfectly
organised and delivered
day. This is my 3rd time
at the school and the
information supplied is well
thought out, logical and
makes a real difference
to riding either on the road
or competitively.
From mid-20 finishes
to top 10 at club racing
level is due in part to the
coaching from the school.
If you want to understand
how to ride better (not
just faster) this is the best
place to learn.
I couldn’t recommend it
highly enough.
A great day, a great track
and great instruction.

a workout
As you know from your own personal
experience moving around on a moving
motorcycle requires a degree of skill so you
do not upset the bike beneath you in the corner.
If you don’t know what and when to do things you could
find your bike becoming very unstable. Knowing when
and how to move your body can produce huge benefits,
but it’s going to be a bit of a workout for the legs to
achieve this.

simple
complexity
If you sat down now with a piece of paper and
tried to workout all the actions and decisions
(both conscious and sub-conscious) you have
to make as you approach a corner how many
things would you come up with? 10? 20? 30?
If you are getting in the 40s and 50s then you are getting
close. And how long does a corner take from start to
finish? Only a few seconds. Working out what is important
and what is not is the key to improvement on Level Four
and we are there to help you both on and off track.
