Please note the following questions and subsequent responses:
Q1. What is the budget for this project?
A1. The overall budget allocated for all costs, inclusive of design, construction, etc. at
both schools is $3,615,000.00. The overall budget allocated for all costs, inclusive of
design, construction, etc. at Bristol Central High School is $1,725,000.00.
Q2. Who is responsible for paying all of the proposed testing requirements for the field?
A2. Testing costs shall be the responsibility of the Owner unless otherwise noted in the
technical specifications.
Q3. Will a temporary fence be required for the project and if yes, what are the
specifications for the temporary fence?
A3. Temporary fence is not required; the contractor is responsible for securing the site.
Q4
In regards to the Bleacher Alternates, A3 & A4, the Plans SD-6 & SD-7 call out these
alternates as Add Alternates. The Bid Proposal sheet under BID ALTERNATE ITEMS
call out A3 and A4 not as add alternates but complete alternates. Are these Add
alternates which would have the additional cost added on to the base bid or are
these complete alternates which are called out on the Bid Proposal sheets?
A4. The base bid should include the installation of a concrete pad and 747 seat bleacher
system as detailed in the bid documents. Alternates A3 and A4 should represent the
increase in cost above the base bid price for the 747 seat bleacher and concrete pad.
Q5. The existing track appears to remain with no additional work to be done to it per the
plans. Specification, Section 33 33 00 Synthetic Track Surfacing, Part 1 – GENERAL,
1.1 SUMMARY, E, calls for the installation of the synthetic track and D-Zone shall be
directed by a technical supervisor provided by the contractor who has previous
experience and is familiar with the requirements of the manufacturer of the track
system. Does this contract include any existing track work?
A5. The bid documents detail reconstruction of both d-zones with track surfacing. This
work is to be conducted as outlined in the technical specifications.

Q6. Who’s responsible for the existing topsoil?
A6. See General Provisions in the Project Specifications. All topsoil/loam material
excavated from the site shall be transported by the contractor and deposited at a
City site within (5) five miles from the site.
Q7. Who is responsible for installing the synthetic turf nailer to the existing concrete
curb?
A7. It is the General Contractor’s responsibility to installer the turf nailer.
Q8. Page 22 of the bid specs, item 13 requires a qualification that all bidders have
performed 5 synthetic field installations within the past 5 years. This is a difficult
requirement to meet for Site contractors in CT. Will there be any exceptions to this
requirement? The completion of 5 athletic fields in CT is more reasonable. The
qualification for work perfomed by a competent site contractors would cover the
installation of the base materials, grading work and the ability to install the various
site improvements. Could this requirement be relaxed to 2 synthetic fields in the
past 5 years or could the installation of natural grass fields be included as a
substitution to meet the qualifications?
A8. As noted on the Statement of Bidder’s Qualifications the bidder may utilize
subcontractors to satisfy the requirements of Item 13.
Q9. There are no conduits and wiring shown on the prints for the (4) Musco LED security
lights on the poles. Should it be added to the scope of work and what is required for
consuit and wiring?
A9. Separate wiring will be provided for the LED security fixtures. This revision is
incorporated in the drawing changes issued with this Addendum.
Q10. Is there a allowance for Eversource utility fees or will the Town be billed directly?
A10. The City will be billed directly.
Q11. Will the wiring for the athletic field lights be included in Base Bid Item 11 or Item 12?
A11. This work shall be included in Base Bid Item 11.
Q12. The 15’ High Ball Safety Netting At Flush Concrete Curb detail on Plan SD-1 illustrates
a 36” x 16” concrete curb with a 30” sleeve. The specs for the Athletic Equipment for
the 15’ HT Ball Safety Netting calls for 48” sleeves. If this is the case for the 48”
sleeve, then the concrete curb needs to be deeper than what the detail shows.
Please clarify the correct sleeve size and curb depth.

A12. 30” is the correct length for the ball safety netting gound sleeve. The foundation
detail on sheet SD-1 is correct. Please disregard the dimension noted in the
specification.
All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
