Banking at its Best
The Independent Bankers of Colorado (IBC)
is the largest banker trade association in Colorado,
exclusively providing a common voice for community
banks across Colorado, currently with more than 60
member banks conducting business at over 425 locations statewide. The IBC is an advocate for community
banks and seeks to influence legislative and policy decisions at the federal and state levels. We provide
timely and important information to our members through our newsletter, website and legislative updates.
We also have more than 70 associate members who actively support the IBC through the products and
services they offer to Colorado’s banking industry and their participation in our many programs. Through
our Preferred Provider Program, we offer products and services at reduced rates to members.

sent to more than 400 member and non-member
bank locations statewide and associate member
representatives. It keeps our readers updated on
banking issues and trends, state and federal legislation,
industry products and services and IBC sponsored
events. IBC associate members receive two one-third
page ads per year and are listed on our Web Site as free
member benefits, as well as other discounted and free
promotional opportunities. Our associate members
regularly appear in our newsletter as guest writers.
All IBC member banks receive myriad membership
benefits, including discounts on association programs,
free legal advice and discounts on products and services
essential to your banking operation.
We provide a voice you can count on.
The IBC provides Colorado’s only lobbying effort
exclusively on behalf of community banking issues at the
state and federal levels. This association is represented
by staff and lobbyists who have extensive experience
and enjoy substantial credibility with Colorado’s
Congressional delegation and General Assembly on issues
of importance to community banks. The IBC staff closely
monitors and remains actively involved in all aspects of
state and federal banking regulation. Our COINPAC and
Government Relations Fund monies ensure the IBC’s
active participation in the political process.
Free legal advice with just a phone call.
One of our most popular benefits, the IBC Hotline,
provides free, instant responses to questions about legal
and compliance issues. IBC member banks may contact
Bieging Shapiro & Barber, LLP, the IBC’s legal counsel, with
legal and compliance questions regarding their work.
Bieging Shapiro & Barber will also review agreements
and provide recommendations in conjunction with the
Hotline. IBC member banks may call (303) 832-2000 for
the number to the Hotline.
Finally, a newsletter you will want to read.

Everyone you need to call in one directory.
Our web-based Directory lists Colorado community banks and their
officers. The Directory is updated continually and also lists associate
members with a description of their products and services. All IBC
members can access the directory via IBC’s website at www.ibcbanks.org.
A website for the surfer in you.
Our website offers access to current information about the IBC’s products
and services and member information. It also has links to related sites.
Consumers can access our “find a bank/ATM” to find locations of our
member banks and ATMs nearest them. The IBC’s website address is
www.ibcbanks.org. Utilize the Legislative Issues area to track state and
federal legislation and to contact your elected officials.
There are plenty of ways to get involved.
Members may serve on the IBC’s or IBC/IBCEF joint committees that
offer direction and recommendations to us in the following areas: Ag
and Natural Resources, Convention, Education and Training, Special
Advisory Committee, and Government Relations Committees. Member

The IBC’s Preferred Provider offerings include
surcharge free ATM network, merchant processing,
check printing, business forms, check imaging, and
other Preferred Provider products and services.
Our following Preferred Providers offer exclusive
products and services to our member banks, often
at significant discounts.
MSP/EFT Group is pleased to announce our preferred vendor
status for electronic
NSF check representment services through the Independent
Bankers of Colorado. If your bank is not already offering eCollect,
we would like to offer our value added business banking tool at
no cost to the bank. Through our alliance, your bank can offer
your commercial clients eCollectTM for the reprocessing
and collection of NSF checks, while at the same time, creating
an income stream for the bank that is unmatched.
What is eCollectTM? eCollectTM is our FREE electronic
re-presentment service that ANY commercial account can
enroll in at no cost to them. Once a business has signed up
for eCollectTM, any NSF check the bank recieves back on their account would be represented in a controlled settlement. We
collect 100% of the original check amount on behalf of the business, plus a state processing fee. We will attempt to reclear checks
on specific days of the month for a higher degree of collectability. Once funds are collected, they are deposited directly into the
business account on file. Regardless of the business type, size, public, private or the number of return checks the business receives,
your commercial base can only benefit by the bank’s vision to offer eCollectTM.
What’s the incentive to the bank? For our alliance, we will rebate back to the bank a fixed percentage of the fee income for each
NSF check we reprocess and clear on behalf of one of your commercial clients, thus increasing the banks’ fee income.
Some of our bank alliances that promote eCollectTM are: Banco Popular, IL; Canon National Bank, CO; Central National Bank, KS;
Central Carolina Bank, NC; Texas Bank, TX; Gunnison Bank & Trust, CO, just to name a few of the thirty plus banks nationwide. Our
alliance offering is a win-win situation, for your bank as well as your commercial client base.

SBA Loan Portfolio Review: We will review existing SBA loans to similar standards

Loan Packaging: We can handle the entire SBA loan package after the lender has
determined it is a viable credit contingent on the SBA guarantee.
General Consulting: Whether there is an issue prior to a formal application or issues
with submission for payment on the SBA guarantee, and everything in between, we
are available to provide experienced assistance in any case.
Bottom Line: Call us for a solution to your SBA issues. Our staff has experience up
through supervisory levels in both SBA lending and commercial loan experience at
community bank level. We take pride in quick turn around and personalized service.

QUALITY LOAN GROWTH IS POSSIBLE—
EVEN IN THIS ECONOMY
Position your bank for quality growth and profitability with sound lending
strategies. Striking the proper balance between achieving your targeted growth
and originating quality loans requires the development of a disciplined approach.
Bank Strategies LLC has strategic planning clients that have seen the following
YTD growth in loans through September 30, 2011 - Bank A: 8.0%, Bank B: 14.0%, and
Bank C: 14.5%. It requires rethinking lending approaches as part of a comprehensive
strategy.
Larry Martin and his team of banking experts at Bank Strategies LLC will work with
you and your team to develop holistic plans to increase ROE and combat shrinking
profitability. Call Bank Strategies LLC today at 303.618.0056.
