By taking Bournemouth University’s
established Festival of Learning global,
here in Malaysia, we are creating
opportunities to further enhance and
develop the partnerships between our
organisations through education, research
and the local, national and global

which they are connected.
As a collaborative Global Tech Hub
enabler, Cyberview passionately services
the community through 3 key services:

Ms Kay Stonham –
Bournemouth University, UK

Have you ever wondered how writers
get their ideas, or if there is a way that
you could be a writer? The truth is, ideas
are only part of the story, once you have
a great idea it needs to be developed
properly to make sure it reaches its
full potential, and this is where many
writers go wrong, relying on inspiration
and forgetting the importance of
perspiration. Creative writing exercises
and brainstorming techniques developed
by Edward de Bono, Linda Aronson and
Craig Batty are discussed in this session
and used to help you begin to see how
you could reliably generate and develop
creative ideas of your own.

Perceptions can be deceiving. What
turned a Victorian tourist resort into
the UK’s fastest growing digital hub?
Mr Matt Desmier, Director of Think Create
Do, Bournemouth, UK
12.10
The quaint seaside resort of Bournemouth
was recently named by TechCityUK, the UK
Government-sanctioned body representing
the growing digital economy, as the
UK’s fastest-growing digital hub. This
took an awful lot of people by surprise,
but perhaps it shouldn’t have. In this
enlightening talk, Matt Desmier will share
what he believes are the three critical
components that have helped rewrite the
narrative associated with the town and
which could, with careful consideration,
be applied elsewhere to generate
similar results.
