A Message from the Chief Executive Officer
Our vision is a strong family for every child.
To Our Valued Stakeholders and Friends,
I am pleased to share that 2014 was a year filled with progress as
Olive Crest works toward its goal of serving 100,000 children and
families by 2020. Over the last year, Olive Crest has continued to
deliver profound and effective solutions for children and families
in crisis while strengthening our continuum of care throughout
California, Nevada, and the Pacific Northwest.
In 2014, our supporters and employees made it possible for Olive Crest to:
•Help more children and families than in any other previous year in our history
while upholding the principles of service quality set forth by the Council on
Accreditation (COA).
•Continue to exceed outcome goals for our programs while surpassing
national standards on safety, well-being, stability, and permanence.
•Reach our Vision 2020 mid-term mark by serving 70,000 children since
our inception in 1973.
•Divert at-risk kids from entering the child welfare system through innovative
preventative and community-based programs and services, such as Family
Resource Centers and Safe Families for Children.
The following pages feature illustrations and insights from Olive Crest youth that show
just how your support is helping transform the lives of at-risk children through the healing
power of family. I hope you will feel a sense of pride in their successes, knowing that your
compassion and generosity have helped these kids thrive.
Sincerely,

LOVING HOMES
Safety, Belonging, Stability
At-risk children come from extremely volatile environments. Many have been deprived
of basic physical and emotional needs, and haven’t been able to mature in a well-balanced
way. When surrounded with positive relationships, nurturing, and acceptance, these
children begin to thrive.
Olive Crest programs that provide loving homes include:
Foster/Adoption, Family Preservation, Safe Families for Children,
Residential Homes, and Kinship Support Services.

Become Part of Our Family
Community donors and volunteers are vital partners
in helping Olive Crest children and families.
The government supports only about 85% of what is needed to transform lives. We rely on the
compassion and commitment of our community to help fill the gap. As part of the Olive Crest
family, your contribution of time, talent, and financial support has a tremendous impact on
the lives of at-risk youth.
Below are just some of the ways you can get involved:
Giving Opportunities
Volunteer Opportunities
Kids at Heart
Individual and Group Volunteering

heart with a monthly gift of any size.
Zoe, age 10
Estate Gifts
Bequests, trusts, and other gifts with a
future benefit.
As part of the Olive Crest family…
“I really enjoy the moments when I’m helping at
an event, and children or teens are sharing their
success stories—you can really see the results of what
Olive Crest does, and it’s neat to know I’m involved
in making things happen.”
— Liz Kassari, Olive Crest Volunteer
— Mac Family,
Olive Crest Foster Family
“From day one my heart connected with this organizational family that is
compassionate and dedicated to help kids and families see past their current
situations to work hard and break sometimes negative generational cycles.
What I do each day definitely is considered a job by definition but when you find
purposeful meaning that helps you and others there is no greater place to be.”
— Terry Richey, Olive Crest Employee
“I can’t think of a better cause to
dedicate my time and resources.”
— Tim Myers,
Olive Crest Board of Directors
“I have become a stronger person in
everything I do. I know I will reach success.”
— Carely, Olive Crest Child
Mentoring
For businesses, executives, and companies
that desire a positive and impactful way
of transforming lives.
Through a one-on-one relationship,

valuable experiences and a listening ear,
while teaching lessons and skills to help
them succeed.
Cause–Related Marketing
Tutoring
Business Partners
“Not only has our family
grown through fostering
a sweet child, it has also
grown as we’ve integrated
her birth family into ours.”
Olive Crest offers many direct and support
service volunteer opportunities that enable
members of our community to contribute
their time and talents in meaningful ways.
Keeping Children Safe, Olive Crest’s
cause-related marketing program,
connects consumers to the needs of
at-risk children and how they can help.
Tribute Cards
Tutors work alongside students to help
them improve academic performance
and achieve their educational goals.
Leadership
Personalized tribute cards are a unique
gift for holidays and other occasions.
Your donation on another’s behalf will
help share Olive Crest’s important mission
while benefiting at-risk youth and families.
We are always looking for executive-level
community leaders to serve as members
of our regional boards of trustees. Service
as a trustee includes increasing awareness
and financial support for Olive Crest in
your community.

Through our partnership with Cars for
Causes, you can donate your car, motorcycle,
boat, or other vehicle to help Olive Crest.
Inkind (Tangible) Donations

tangible needs for our youth, including
holiday gifts and back-to-school supplies.
