FAIMER Fellowship Application --Manual for Applicants This manual has a step-by-step instruction of how to use FluidReview to complete the FAIMER Fellowship Application. This manual will introduce: How to create an account on FluidReview How to create, track and submit an application How to request the supporting documents on FluidReview How to check your application status 5/1/2014 QUESTIONS ABOUT FLUIDREVIEW USE OR TRAINING? Please contact Shiyao Yuan (syuan@faimer.org) at FAIMER 0 FAIMER Fellowship Application 1. Create an Account 1) You need to create an account in FluidReview to apply for FAIMER fellowship program. To register, click the [Sign Up] on the homepage below. Click “Sign Up” to register. 2) Then you will be brought to the “Sign Up” page (screenshot below). To sign up, just fill out the required information, including name, email, password, etc. And in Catogery, please select “FAIMER Fellowship Application”. You can also select your preferred language. Then click [Register] on the bottom of the page. Please be sure that your email address is correctly typed. An email with confirmation link will be sent to your email, and you need to click the link to complete registration. Note: uploading a profile picture is optional. Please contact Shiyao Yuan (syuan@faimer.org) at FAIMER 1 3) Then you will receive this page, asking you to access your email inbox to confirm the registration and activate your account. 2. Start a New Application 1) To start a new application, you need to sign in first. See item “2)” in Create an Account for instructions on how to sign in. QUESTIONS ABOUT FLUIDREVIEW USE OR TRAINING? Please contact Shiyao Yuan (syuan@faimer.org) at FAIMER 2 2) After signing in, you will be directed to your account homepage, where your submissions and application status show. If you haven’t started an application yet, you will see the screenshot below. Make sure that the Category is “FAIMER Fellowship Application”, and then click [Get Started] button to start a new application. 3) You will need to complete four tasks in order to submit the FAIMER fellowship application. Click the link to complete each task. a. FAIMER Education Program: select the fellowship program you are applying to. b. Application Form: complete the FAIMER fellowship application form. c. Request an Institution Nomination Letter d. Request a Reference Letter QUESTIONS ABOUT FLUIDREVIEW USE OR TRAINING? Please contact Shiyao Yuan (syuan@faimer.org) at FAIMER 3 2.1 FAIMER Education Program Form In FAIMER Education Program Form, you are asked to select the FAIMER fellowship program you are applying to. Please contact Shiyao Yuan (syuan@faimer.org) at FAIMER 4 2.2 Application Form After selecting your FAIMER fellowship program, the next step is to complete the online application form. At the bottom of each page on the application form, you can click [Save & Continue Editing] to save your work progress, or click [Next] to proceed to the next page. Once, you’ve completed the application form, you can click [Save & Exit]. Note: You can view and edit the application form at any time before submitting the application. For FRILA and Brazil FRI program applicants, you can switch the language of the Application Form to Spanish/Portuguese. Select the language from dropdown list, and click “Go”. Please contact Shiyao Yuan (syuan@faimer.org) at FAIMER 5 2.3 Send out Supporting Documents Request Besides the application form, you will also need to obtain a nomination form from your Dean/Principlal or Senior Academic Administrative Officer, and a reference form. These are both required to get your FAIMER fellowship application into the review process. It’s highly recommended that the nomination letter and reference letter are completed by different people. The nomination letter should be completed by Dean/Principal or Senior Academic Administrative Officer, and the reference letter should be completed by a person who knows your personal and professional strength well, for example, your colleague or supervisor at work. Fill out the information of the person you are requesting to fill out the form, and then click [Submit]. He/She will receive the invitaion via email to complete and submit the form online. Please contact Shiyao Yuan (syuan@faimer.org) at FAIMER 6 Once you’ve completed the two forms and sent out the request to nominator and recommender, status of FAIMER Education Program and Application form will be marked Complete, and the status of Nomination Letter Form and Recommendation Letter Requset will stay Pending until the form writers submitted it online. How to resend invitation? You can resend invitation by clicking the task link: QUESTIONS ABOUT FLUIDREVIEW USE OR TRAINING? Please contact Shiyao Yuan (syuan@faimer.org) at FAIMER 7 How to withdraw the current invitation and send a new one? If you would like to withdraw the current invitation and send request to another person, go back to the page below, click “Delete” besides the Nomination Letter Request or Reference Letter Request. Then you will be able to send a new request. Go back to Step 4) for instructions of how to send out a supporting documents request. Once the form writers submitted the form online, the status will change to Complete. QUESTIONS ABOUT FLUIDREVIEW USE OR TRAINING? Please contact Shiyao Yuan (syuan@faimer.org) at FAIMER 8 2.4 Submit your Application When the four tasks are all Complete, you will be able to submit the application. Please make sure that you submit the application by clicking the button under the four tasks. You will receive a notification once the application is submitted.
