HVAC To Register by phone: 856-468-1445, ext. 2505 3 Automotive Techonology Automotive Technology The Automotive Technology program is designed to give each student exposure and experience in the major areas of automotive and related trades. Each student will have the opportunity to experience a variety of hands-on activities in these areas. This will give each student a better understanding of the world of automotive maintenance and increase their knowledge base for a variety of work and career choices in the automotive field. The students that complete the program will be given the ASE Student Certification Test. This is a series of tests designed to measure students’ knowledge of course content and learning outcomes within an automotive training program. Students earn an industry recognized ASE Student Certificate for each test passed. After two years of work experience, students will have the opportunity to upgrade their ASE Certifications. Students that have an interest in attending both the Automotive Technology and Collision Technology programs will be enrolled at a discounted tuition rate of $2,999 $1,999 Tue. & Thur., Sept. 17, 2015 – May 10, 2016 5:30–9:30 pm Collision Technology In this course students will learn both theory and hands-on practice in the auto body repair field which will include repair of automotive bodies, frames, unitized bodies, refinishing, detailing and estimating. After completion of this course students should be able to gain employment at an entry-level position in the auto body trade. The Nocti exam will be given at the completion of the program and students will receive a certificate of completion for this exam. After two years of work experience, students will be able to become ASE certified by passing the ASE exam. Students that have an interest in attending both the Collision Technology and Automotive Technology programs will be enrolled at a discounted tuition rate of $2,999. Marine Engine Maintenance Rough Framing I Are you interested in learning how to maintain a marine engine? Come learn basic outboard, stern drive maintenance procedures, and basic boat/trailer systems. The course will be adapted to fit your needs based on the products you own. Please bring a repair manual for your product. This course will cover the basics of residential construction. Students will be trained in safety and proper use of both hand and power tools. The hands-on portion of the class will include the construction of a 10' x 10' building, complete with windows, doors and exterior finishes. NEC Codes will also be incorporated. $599 Tue., Sept. 22, 2015 – May 3, 2016 6–9 pm Math for the Apprentice Tradesworker Course will begin with refresher of high school level mathematics and progress through general math, geometry, trigonometry and high technology applications. It is taught from a practical, trade-specific point of view. Also includes programming into numerical control for machine tools and other processing machines. $599 Wed., Sept. 16, 2015 – Apr. 27, 2016 6:30–9:30 pm $1,999 Mon. & Wed., Sept. 14, 2015 – May 4, 2016 5:30–9:30 pm This course covers advanced carpentry techniques in framing, including layout techniques, wall, roof theory, stair building and planning for windows and doors. Following classroom instruction in carpentry math, materials estimation and codes, students have the opportunity to employ their carpentry skills by building both group and individual projects as well as building a two-story structure. The students will receive theory and hands-on training. Projects consist of copper tubing bending, soldering and brazing. Learn how to charge using the newest blended refrigerants. Various methods of recovery and recycling of refrigerants will be stressed. Troubleshoot high, low temperature refrigeration systems along with high efficiency air conditioning equipment. Learn control wiring and how to electrically check all refrigeration and air conditioning controls. Wiring all internal parts and controls of a forced warm air furnace and central air conditioning system is required. An EPA Certification assessment is included with this course. $1199 (includes EPA Certification course & test) Mon. & Wed., Sept. 14, 2015 – May 23, 2016* 6:30–9:30 pm Also: 15-hour EPA Certification Course (in May): $199 EPA Test only (in May): $99 Plumbing 101 This program is designed for entry level plumbers who are currently working in the trade as well as students who are looking to attain the skills needed for entry level positions in the plumbing field. Listed below are some of the subjects that will be covered in this course: • Plumbing history, codes and principals • Tools of the plumbing trade • Safety • Water supply/sources • Gasses in plumbing work • Piping materials • Installation methods • Valves • Fixtures • Soldering • Basic plumbing math This is a complete learning program designed to help the beginning student of the plumbing trade to develop and apply the technical knowledge necessary to attain entry level job skills. Although the major scope of this program relates to residential plumbing, commercial plumbing is also addressed $599 (textbook not included) Wed., Sept. 16, 2015 – Apr. 27, 2016 6–9 pm Welding Technician The Welding course introduces students to the safe use and handling of all oxyacetylene cutting and shielded metal arch welding equipment. Basic welding skills to be taught include: flame cutting, tack welding, fillet welds and groove welds in all positions using E-6010 and E-7018 electrodes. Advanced students will be introduced to gas tungsten arch welding of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum. Students will learn how to set up and use gas metal arc welding equipment to weld mild steel and aluminum. Cosmetology Cosmetology (Two-Year Program) Prerequisite: High school diploma or GED The Cosmetology program offers state approved training for the NJ Cosmetology license. Students are required to complete a minimum of 1,000 hours of NJ requirements for the licensure. Students must attain competencies in each of the following areas: State laws and regulations, sanitation and sterilization, skin care, shaving/barbering skills, hair and scalp treatments, shampooing, hair shaping, hairstyling, hair coloring, chemical applications, manicuring and pedicuring, related sciences, professional ethics shop/ salon management, and State Board Exam Prep. Students will take the written and practical State Examination for licensure at the end of the program. $7199 tuition, kit, lab/supply fee (Not included: license fee, textbooks & uniforms) Year One: Mon. – Tue., Sept. 14, 2015 – June 1, 2016* 5–9:30 pm Year Two: Mon. – Wed., Sept. 12, 2016 – May 23, 2017* 5–9 pm *Subject to change Culinary Arts Baking and Pastry Arts Students will be trained and become proficient in basic and advanced level dough work and cakes. Upon completion of the program students will possess the knowledge and skills for a variety of entry-level positions in the pastry arts field, small restaurant baking and commercial baking. The course will consist of the following: breads, sweet dough, cinnamon buns, coffee-cake, Danish, puff pastry, carrot cake, German chocolate cake, Italian cream cake, sponge and angel food cakes, cream puffs and eclairs $999 Mon. & Tue., Sept. 14 – Dec. 8, 2015 5–9 pm Culinary Arts This Culinary Arts program will prepare students for employment in the food service industries. It is a blend of classroom activities and culinary procedures. The first half of the program will introduce students to a variety of topics including knife skills, principles of cooking, cooking techniques and product and equipment identification. The second half of this program will be more in-depth and students will learn the competencies necessary to be an employee in the culinary field. Students will be introduced to more topics including poultry, meat, seafood cookery, international flavor principles, and food presentation. Students will learn how to use different cooking techniques to prepare a variety of foods. Central to this Culinary Arts program are the highly intensive hands-on, interactive cooking experiences where students are directed to a wide range of food preparation from stocks, sauces and soups to entrees with side dishes. General housekeeping and equipment operation skills necessary to any commercially run venture are also part of this curricula. After completing this program, students will be prepared to work with confidence in the culinary arts field. This innovative partnership makes higher education more affordable for New Jersey students by providing a direct, cohesive route to a bachelor’s degree with easy transfer of credits. From the very first day of classes, RCGC students are conditionally admitted to Rowan University. A "new" college experience available to freshmen looking to attend Rowan University and the savings are substantial. Incoming University freshmen can save up to $10,000 while still enjoying campus life. Rowan Choice permits a limited number of freshmen to select a one-year option to live on Rowan's main Glassboro campus while taking RCGC classes. Room and board are charged at the University price, but tuition and fees are calculated at the community college cost. Located on campus, the Career and Academic Planning (CAP) Center maintains a number of resources to help individuals with resume writing, interviewing, dressing for success, navigating the job hunt, selecting academic majors and more. Here’s what you can do with Google presentations: With Google presentations you can share and edit presentations with your friends and coworkers, publish and embed your presentations in a website, allowing access to a wide audience, allow real-time viewing of presentations, online, from separate remote locations and so much more.
