Welcome to Cardinal Hickey Academy’s 18th Auction Gala. The Auction Committee has planned
for you, our family and friends, an incredible evening filled with unique and wonderful items for you
to bid on, as well as a beautiful night filled with good conversations, good cuisine and dancing.
Our goal this year was to focus on as many experience offerings as possible. We discussed in
depth what might be of value for families and couples to take away from this night; inevitably we
returned to the idea of an experience. We have for you many choices of more “intangible” items -in
this case, money can buy! People of the Cardinal Hickey Academy community and the Calvert County
community have generously donated their time, talents and vacation destinations to help with our
goal. You’ll find these in both the silent and live auctions.
This night would also never happen without the many dedicated, caring parents and
community members who volunteered countless hours (and we do lose count) to make this a success.
I must give a “shout out” to parents: Andrea Baddour (caterer chair); Mary Catherine Ball (program
creator and data entry); Liz Grover (acquisitions); Jennifer Seekford (decorating); Randy Sweetman
(printing) and JGS community member Judy Mac Williams (PR and advertising). To all my first-time
enthusiastic parents who helped on this auction, please continue to help in coming years! Your
experience can be perpetuated by involving more parents next year and showing them the way to
build this event year after year into a successful fundraiser for our children’s school community.
Speaking of school community; that is what truly makes all this effort worthwhile. CHA is a
wonderful place where we and our children can speak of Christ’s love freely. That is worth preserving.
