Go to the ARC home page at www.arc.losrios.edu and click on the “Application” link. Upon completing the application students will then be issued a Student ID number. In addition, students will receive information regarding how to complete the enrollment process. Step 2 – Get Your Student ID Number After students have successfully submitted their on-line application, allow up to 30 minutes for processing. Step 1 – Return to the ARC home page at www.arc.losrios.edu and click the eServices/eLearning link. Step 2 – Click on the e-Services link. Step 3 – Click on the link “Get Your Student ID Number” located on the left side of the screen. If you are a continuing or returning Los Rios student, your Student ID number will remain the same. Step 3 – Assessment All new students are required to complete the basic skills assessment tests in English or ESL, reading and mathematics. These tests assist counselors in determining appropriate course placement. The current test schedule is available online at http://web.arc.losrios.edu/~assess/ Step 4 – New Student Orientation After completing the ARC assessment, complete the New Student Orientation online at http://orientation.arc.losrios.edu. Step 5 – Meet with a Counselor All students should meet with an ARC Counselor. Contact the Counseling Center to schedule a counseling appointment at (916) 484-8572. Step 6 – Enrollment Appointment After completing the above steps, students will be assigned an appointment date and time to enroll on-line. Students can check their appointment by logging into their eServices account. Student can enroll during their scheduled appointment or anytime afterward. Step 7 – Visit the Schedule of Classes Go to the ARC home page at www.arc.losrios.edu and click on the “Schedule of Classes” link. Click the Spring 2010 link and then select American River College. The eServices Center provides students computer access and one-on-one support. Step 9 – Pay Enrollment Fees Payment of enrollment fees is due within 10 days of registering for classes. Students must officially drop a class to avoid being charged for it. It is the student’s responsibility to drop any unwanted classes by the deadline identified for the term (see “Spring 2010 Deadlines,” above). Payment by Visa or MasterCard may be made online. Students may also pay by credit card, check, or cash at Business Services in the Administration Building. California Community College enrollment fees for all students are set at $26 per unit. Additional tuition fees apply to non-resident and international students. Activate Your iMail Account - Your College Connection Your Student Access Card E-mail communication with the district, college and your instructors is done by activating your free iMail account (student e-mail). You can set-up your iMail account on any computer using your student ID# at http://imail.losrios.edu. After you activate your account you have the option of forwarding iMail messages to your personal e-mail address. Your Student Access Card serves as your all-in-one student card. • College Student Photo I.D Card • Regional Transit Card • College Library Card • Go-Print Copy Card • Student Discount Card Access Card Stations are located at Information Services (Administration Building), and Learning Resource Center (LRC) Registration Tips Wait Lists Finding Open Classes 1. On the ARC website (www.arc.losrios.edu), click on “eServices/ eLearning” 2. On the Current ARC Students webpage, click on “eServices” 3. On the “Welcome to Los Rios eServices Web page: Enter your log-in ID, your password, and click “Login” 4. Under “Academic Information,” select “Dynamic/Open Class Search” 5. On the Los Rios Class Search page, select “Spring 2010” semester, “ARC” as your college, a course subject from the drop-down list, and click “View Courses.” Note that classes open and close frequently, due to student adds and drops. If the class you want is closed, continue checking class wait list status. When a class becomes full students will be placed on the wait list (20 students maximum). Wait list status may change throughout the enrollment period (status updates may be sent to your iMail account). Students need to regularly monitor their wait list status (check your eServices account for status). Wait lists are no longer available after the first day the course begins. Students must attend the first class meeting if added to the wait list to obtain a permission number from the instructor (if there is room in the class). Permission numbers are valid for 48 hours. If the student no longer wants to take the course they must drop the class. If a student is automatically enrolled from the wait list payment of enrollment fees are due within 10 days of enrollment. Class locations Dropping Classes Check location information when selecting your classes – do not assume that they meet on the main campus on College Oak Drive. Off-campus sites include Ethan Way, McClellan/Public Safety Center, Mather, Natomas, and San Juan [see map on back of this booklet]. It is the student’s responsibility to drop any unwanted classes by the deadline identified for the term (see Spring 2010 Deadlines). Students can drop online or in person at the ARC eServices Center.
