A NEW Servant Experience
Montana Servant
An “on the road” servant experience across
the beautiful state of Montana. Unique,
meaningful, and fulfilling servant projects
across the state, including a servant experience at the Montana State Prison in Deer
Lodge under Pastor Rob Nedbalek, Prison
Chaplain. A singular experience for the
senior high student who is looking to give
back in the Treasure State. See page 10 for
more information.
Explorer Camp
This great introductory camp experience is designed for youth entering third grade. Campers spend
three fun-filled days and two nights living in comfortable cabins. Under the care and supervision of
trained counselors, campers participate in Bible study, worship, arts & crafts, swimming, boating, singing, group games, and evening campfire and devotions. Campers attending Explorer Camp in the
second half of the week also get to experience FLBC’s Passion Play, a depiction of Jesus’ last week portrayed through music
and drama. This is the perfect way to introduce your child to the wonders of God’s creation at FLBC! Cost is $195 by May 1.

For Pioneer campers, each day is filled with unforgettable activities that connect the Word of God with the world of God,

Join us for our first ever week-long cooking camp! Learn to make something new each day, including a fun outdoor meal that
you will prepare for your group. Chef Mindy and her staff will lead you in your cooking and baking creations, while you have
fun learning proper etiquette and participating in “high tea!” You will decorate your own apron and also enjoy all the great
activities that camp has to offer! Registration numbers are limited so sign up early! Cost is $395 by May 1.

Back by popular demand, FLBC and 2012 Montana “Coach of the Year” Luke Kloker are teaming up to offer Basketball Camp
again in 2015! Luke is the head boys’ basketball coach for the Fairview, MT Warriors, a team that has advanced to the state
C tournament 5 of the last 10 years under his leadership. Campers will have fun learning basketball skills with individual instruction, competitions, full games, and development of shooting, passing, and dribbling. Off the courts campers will experience all the traditional activities Pioneers enjoy during a great week at Camp! Includes a special Basketball Camp t-shirt. Cost
is $395 by May 1.

This is our traditional “choir camp” taken to the next level! Campers can now choose a core of M (Music, which is our
traditional choir camp); A (Art, with incredible art mediums all week); or D (Drama, where you will practice, produce,
and act in camp’s Passion Play on Thursday night). Sign up for one core Music, Art, or Drama. When you are not in your
core area, you will be singing, playing games, having a talent show, and being crazy MAD in God’s creation with other
campers! Our leaders include: (M) Dinah Helgeson, Music/Choir Director and her assistants; (A) Liisa Nelson and Bunny
Wilder, Art Coordinators, leading activities such as drawing, pottery, and much more; and (D) Pr. Rand Drollman and the
FLBC Staff, Drama Coaches, who will teach campers how to produce, act, and expand on the Passion of Jesus Christ! (Some of you may want to sing or play an instrument for the Passion Play, too!) Cost is $415 by May 1.

Pathfinders
Youth Entering Grades 6 & 7
Whether you are a first-time camper or have been to camp before, there are always new things to do, new friends to meet, and
God’s promises to discover. Pathfinder campers grow deeper in faith and adventure through activities specifically designed
for their age group. “Family Groups” allow time to develop trust, teamwork, and valuable communication skills through low
ropes teambuilding and service projects. Pathfinder campers also participate in the inspiring Pathfinder Prayer Service in
addition to traditional camp activities including: worship and campfire, Bible studies, arts & crafts, learning in our new nature
center, tending to the camp garden, boating, swimming, archery, fun games, hikes, the Passion Play, and much more!
Pathfinder Camp

along with the fun and faith-filled activities all campers experience at FLBC. Cost is
$565 by May 1. June 14-19

Youth Entering Grades 8 & 9
Trailblazers have a blast growing deeper in faith and participating in special activities for older campers, including taking a
leap of faith on the high ropes teambuilding course, witnessing the powerful Hunger Awareness drama, participating in a
moving Prayer Around the Cross service, learning archery skills, and working together to accomplish meaningful service projects. Swimming, boating, arts & crafts, worship and campfire, Bible studies, hikes, and much more are in store for Trailblazers!
Trailblazer Camp
Just can’t get enough time in the amazing outdoors? Trailblazer Camp is an awesome way to
enjoy all your favorite onsite camp activities while growing even deeper in your faith, experiencing the challenge of the high ropes course, and learning how we can care for creation as
Christians today. Cost is $380 by May 1. July 12-17, July 19-24, July 26-31, Aug 9-14
Trailblazer Night Camp
Explore God’s creation under the cover of darkness this summer! Along with all the great activities Trailblazers enjoy at Camp, Night Campers will also go stargazing, have moon-lit Bible studies, play fun glow-in-the-dark games,
learn teambuilding skills during a nighttime excursion to the high ropes course, and more. Campers will stay up progressively later
each night for the first half of the week and return to a normal sleep schedule before departing for home. Keep alert – with eyes wide
open! You won’t want to miss this great night time program! Cost is $415 by May 1. July 26-31
Trailblazer Ranch Camp
This unique program gives campers a hands-on way to connect with one of God’s most beautiful creatures—horses! Cecil Noble

Trailblazer Wild Water Week
Love water? Then this camp is for you! This Trailblazer community stays onsite at Hughes Bay in tent
cabins, cooking some meals over the fire, and participating in traditional camp activities such as Family
Groups, Prayer Around the Cross, high ropes teambuilding, and much more! During the week campers will
enjoy kayaking, small boat sailing, canoeing in our huge “peace canoe,” SUPing (stand-up paddleboarding),
and crazy water games. We will also take a cruise on Flathead Lake in one of the camp’s 26-foot sailboats.
Be ready for some “surprise” water adventures, too! Cost is $415 by May 1. July 5-10, August 2–7
Trailblazer Adventure Camp

Pack ‘n Raft
Youth Entering Grades 9-12
Make incredible friendships and grow in your faith as you explore the mountains of Montana on this incredible trip! Your
week begins with 4 great days of backpacking in pristine mountain wilderness with our trained staff. After returning to camp
for a warm shower and delicious meal, you jump right back into the adventure with an exhilarating day of whitewater rafting.
All equipment is provided during this unforgettable week of adventure. Cost is $440 by May 1. July 26-31
Climb & Kayak
Youth Entering Grades 9-12
This trip is a great introduction to rock climbing and kayaking! Spend two days climbing
at Stonehill near beautiful Lake Koocanusa, and two days kayaking on the lake while staying at a remote campsite! All equipment will be provided for this unforgettable adventure. Cost is $430 by May 1.

Youth Entering Grades 10-12 and 2015 HS Graduates
With FLBC’s experienced staff, your small group will paddle their rafts on the wild and scenic North Fork of the Flathead River.
You will begin near the Canadian border and travel four days through the beautiful wilderness bordering Glacier National
Park. Cost is $485 by May 1. July 12-17

This rock climbing course is geared toward the beginning to intermediate climber. Camp staff will lead you and an expert
climbing instructor will teach the course at Stonehill near beautiful Lake Koocanusa. You will enjoy an exhilarating day of
whitewater rafting at week’s end. All equipment will be provided. Cost is $440 by May 1.

Learn how to sail one of camp’s magnificent 26-foot sailboats on Flathead
Lake with trained and experienced FLBC staff, and stay onboard your boat at

on the high ropes teambuilding course and enjoy whitewater rafting on the

The Lutheran Compass Center in downtown Seattle serves over 300 homeless people a day and will be your starting point as
you work, serve, and accompany those in need. The camp staff will provide a safe, fun, and meaningful experience for you
in the city! You will depart on Sunday and return from this unforgettable trip Thursday night. From a 2014 camper’s mom,

Youth Entering Grades 9 through 12 and 2015 HS Graduates
The adventure of a lifetime! Travel through FLBC with a “cabin group” to Detroit, MI for the 2015 ELCA Youth Gathering. The trip
begins July 12th at FLBC where you will get to know the others in your group before you fly to Detroit. In Detroit you will experience service learning projects, amazing musicians, Bible study, and worship with 36,000 Lutheran youth! FLBC provides this “camp”
experience for individuals who want to attend but do not have a group. Cost is $1975, (includes registration, airfare, most food, and
time at camp). Deadline to register is May 1.

Cancer Support Community Montana

Another” is programmed by Cancer Support Community Montana with FLBC staff assistance.
Bev Larson, Associate in Ministry, will be joining us for the fourth year as Chaplain. This freeof-charge camp is open to all Montana families coping with cancer. To register and for more

Grandparent/Grandchild Camp

Want a great way to spend some quality time with your grandchildren? Don’t miss this opportunity! Share a cabin or a room with
your grandchildren, and participate in all the awesome activities camp has to offer (including worship, Bible study, arts & crafts,
cooking, campfire, games, boating, and archery). There will also be time for you to relax while our trained counselors care for your
campers! Cost is $415/adult, $305/grandchild by May 1. (Are you
open to sharing your cabin with another family? If so, subtract $100
from each person sharing.)
No minimum age for grandchildren; no maximum age for grandparents!
Labor Day Family Camp
September 5 – 7 (lunch Saturday – lunch Monday)
Adult Speaker – Pastor Lindean Barnett Christenson
Pastor Lindean, our adult Bible study leader, will help you explore
the idea of “Being Who You Are.” You will examine God’s promises
and the promises we make to one another, how to live as citizens
and not just as consumers, and how to slow down—by trusting
God and taking a day off. Youth will be with their age groups (teens, children, toddlers, and babies) learning more about who God
has called them to be. Pastor Lindean is co-pastor of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bozeman and co-parents two daughters
with her husband, Grant.
Cost:
$165 for adults and children ages 13+, $125 for children ages 7-12, $105 for children ages 2-6
$580 maximum cost per nuclear family (mom, dad, kids)
If you would like to arrive Friday night for dinner and have Saturday breakfast, too, with minimal activities, add $15 per person.

Custom Adventure Retreats and Trips for Men and Women
Bring a group of your family or friends on a custom weekend retreat for men, women or couples. FLBC will custom design a trip/
retreat to meet your group’s needs. In addition to Bible study, campfire, and worship, your group can choose from the following
activities: sailing, kayaking, rafting, low and high ropes teambuilding, canoeing, swimming, and relaxing by the lake. Minimum of 5
adult campers. Housing is in tent cabins at Murphy – Brasset. Friday evening – Sunday noon. For a discount, add a service project

Bring your youth from your church for a wilderness adventure in the mountains of western Montana! Your group can choose

Volunteers
Come volunteer for a week at camp! Volunteers are an integral part of the camp’s summer camping season. All volunteers are provided with housing (will share housing with
other volunteers if not coming with a spouse) and all meals for the week. Volunteers
also receive a discounted camp fee for their children or (if relevant) grandchildren’s
summer camp. Volunteer’s children (or grandchildren if grandparent volunteer) camp
fee is $100 for the program. Summer volunteers must be at least 21 years of age, unless a former staff member or under the direct supervision of a parent/grandparent/
guardian.

How do I get my first choice of camp?
Register early- camp fills quickly, so register early to get your best choice of camp!
Can I register after June 1st?
Yes! Registrations are accepted if space is available up to 7 days in advance of programs. Registrations received after June

Is there a discount for registering more than one child from the same family?
Yes! Additional savings (by age of children, oldest to youngest): 1st Child – full fee, 2nd Child – full fee, 3rd Child – half price,

I have a friend who has never been to camp before! Is there a discount?
If you have previously attended a FULL week of camp at FLBC, you are eligible to recruit a friend (non-family member) who
HAS NOT been to FLBC for week-long youth camp. When you recruit a NEW person for a weeklong camp, you will receive
$200 off your registration fee. We are counting on you to spread the word of FLBC!

New for 2015! FLBC has partnered with CampDoc, a premier provider of online health information management for camps. After you receive your FLBC email confirmation, you will receive a separate email from CampDoc
with the link to complete your online health form and camper information form. The benefits to the online
health form and camper information form are many for both campers and the camp. Please call us with any
questions!
That’s great! So what is due when?
For campers registered by June 1st: 1. Full payment is due by June 1 (pay online at www.flbc.net and click Pay My Balance or
mail check to camp). 2. Online health form must be completed in full by June 1st. 3. Online Camper information form (optional) is completed in full. 4. Any specialty camp release waivers (Horse camp and white water rafting waivers only) mailed
to FLBC office.
* For campers registering after June 1st: 1. Full payment is due at time of registration. 2. Complete online health form and
camper information (optional) and return any specialty camp release waivers within 10 days of receiving them (or by 7 days
prior to camp arrival – whichever date is first).
I’m all set- everything’s filled out. How do I get to camp?
The camp physical address is: 550 Lutheran Camp Road, Lakeside, MT 59922. From Hwy 93, turn east between mile markers
94 & 95 onto “Lutheran Camp Road,” approximately 3 miles south of Lakeside. At the “T” in the road, turn left. Follow the
signs to the camp parking lot on your right.
What time should I arrive at camp for my program week?
The Camp week begins on Sunday afternoon (Wednesday afternoon for Explorers’ Wed-Fri camp), with CAMP REGISTRATION taking place from 3:30 - 5:00 pm near the basketball court or in the dining hall (if raining).
Can I get mail at camp?
Postcards and letters are welcome. The mailing address for campers is: FLBC, PO Box 790, Lakeside, MT 59922. Please mail
your letters EARLY in the week, or before the camp week starts! Please- no care packages, gifts, gifts of food, etc. Call the
camp office if you have any questions.
When is the camp week over? Can my family come to the closing service?
Closing worship is on Friday at noon (Tuesday at noon for Explorers’ Sun–Tues camp). Family and friends are invited to participate. This half hour service will be held in the Amphitheater, located up a short path just west of the parking lot.
What if I want to come to camp, but can’t afford camp?
Your Camp, through its generous supporters, believes that every child who wants to go to camp should be able to attend.
Financial assistance is available; 30% of all programs are funded through gifts. If your child or a child you know needs financial assistance, “Camperships” are available. Thanks to our donors, Partners, Thrivent Choice, and our Campership Endowment, no one is turned away because of inability to pay. Please call Jenn Cronk at the Camp Office, (406) 752-6602 to inquire
about a Campership after you have checked with your family and church.
