Musaki Enterprises and the Kitengela Private Arboretum
The Woodfuel Program
Our woodfuel security program is focused on
being able to help increase privately farmed wood
energy resources through extension services,
planting materials and land use plans. We do this
in order to enhance sustainable biomass resource
utilization and management to help decrease the
current highly degrading pressure on protected
indigenous forests and woodlands for energy
by-products (firewood/charcoal) with planned
holistic farming systems focused on partially
domesticated multi-use wood energy crops such as
many indigenous dry land acacia species that also
provide a wide range of positive supplementary
ecological effects such as soil stabilization, animal
fodder and carbon sequestration etc.
From our long term work with the production,
utilization and rapidly increasing efficiencies of the
‘seed-to-ash cycle’ of biomass energy deployment in
East Africa, Musaki Enterprises and The Kitengela
Arboretum brings you over 20 years of experience of
hands on innovation, development and market
confirmation of Improved Energy Efficient Cookstoves, Ovens and Holistic Woodfuel Forestry Management Systems.
This coupled with improving market values of
farmed wood energy through efficient and
sustainable harvesting and processing systems and
market distribution channels, alongside the use of
improved energy saving and CO2 reducing
woodfuel stoves and ovens leads to positive social,
environmental and economic impacts for energy
security and improved livelihoods.
The price of site visits for land use plans and
consulting fee’s vary according to location.
All bookings and reservations for visits to the
Arboretum should be made one week in
advance.
Individual or group training industrial
attachment courses at the Arboretum in mass
production sheet metal stove fabrication,
ceramic liner manufacture, stick welding,
stove assembly, tree planting, sustainable
harvesting and pruning, charcoal manufacture and biomass energy marketing can be
arranged.
