[ 19:00 - 21:00 ]
Rich soil, ideal weather and millenary wisdom have combined to
make the Sacred Valley arguably the most fertile in the world. You’ll
probably become a believer as you indulge in its bounty: giant
multi-coloured maize, a wide variety of potatoes (over 3,000 in the
Andes), lean meats, pink rainbow trout, the world’s most nutritious
cereals, exotic fruits and spices, fresh greens and herbs. Tonight’s
Pachamanca (Andean cook-out) starts the feasting!
Theater and folk arts group Yuyachkani, performs “The Apus of
the Andes” for you this evening. Live vignette representations of
Quechua lore and Inca mythology bring you into the realm of Andean
spirituality.
Open skies permitting, tonight presents privileged stargazing
opportunities. Several constellations can be seen clearly and the
Sacred Vilcanota River is said to reflect the Milky Way, as it runs
through the Valley.

the entrance of the Chan Chan
Citadel. Close them again, open
them, and you find yourselves in the
thick of the Manu Biosphere

are flying over the mysterious Nasca
lines…
sight
Peruvian cultural and natural heritage / Screen saver with pictures
More than 35,000 species of flora
help sustain the mega diversity of
Peru. The bounty of a land as
generous as ours, has enriched our
lives and that of our ancestors,
generation after generation.
Abundant fruits, spices and herbs
produce aromas that relax, enamor
and excite.
smell
Peruvian spirituality and biodiversity / Aromatic oils with candle tray
taste
Peruvian exotic spices and fruits / Marmalade and chutney preserves
hearing
Peruvian folklore and ethnic diversity / Music CD with typical Andean instrument
Strings, windwoods, percussion,
typical instruments, tapping, chants,
laughter, joy… the sound of Peru is
so fulfilling. A flirtatious Marinera in
our coasts, a melancholic Huayno in
the highlands, a mischievous
afro-peruvian Festejo and an elegant
Waltz in Lima, are all fine examples
of the rich culture and long musical
tradition of our folklore.
When one savours a great recipe of
Peruvian cuisine - traditional,
novo-andean or d’auteur – one
experiences fascinating flavours.
That is because we know how to best
combine the wonders offered by our
generous nature and varied fauna in
air, sea and land. Our Pachamama,
mother earth for the Quechuas,
provides us with a cornucopia of
pleasures.
touch
Peruvian textile and weaving traditions / Baby alpaca scarf
A Moche ceramic, a fresh fruit, the
wool from an alpaca, a wall of huge
boulders, the waters of our Amazonian rivers, silver hammered over
carved wood and the Tanguis cotton,
superior to Pima, are also riches that
you can feel with your touch. In Peru,
the hard and soft, the rough and
smooth, the real and imaginary thrive
together in harmony.
We hope that you now feel that Peru
is the perfect stage to nourish the five
senses. We believe it also liberates a
sixth, which allows us to experience
emotions and feelings in a new
dimension. A beautiful place where
one feels the energy of the Pacific
coast, the spirituality of the Andes
mountains and the wisdom of the
Amazon rainforest.
