HISTORY
From a vision of one man wanting to bring quality
healthcare closer to the community, it started with
his first GP clinic POLIKLINIK PENAWAR in
Tampoi, Johor, Malaysia within an area of lower
middle-class community caterring to the medical
needs of families in that area. That was in
August 1992.
In August 1993, the second POLIKLINIK PENAWAR
opened in the Skudai area catering to the needs of the
academia of Universiti Technology of Malaysia and its
surrounding communities. It operated 24 hours.
From the onset of the second clinic, highly qualified doctors were selected and employed rather than
the usual partnership arrangement. This is to ensure continuity of business expansion and reduce the
risk of partner dispute which can lead to the demise of services.
From then on, there was no looking back. The business was incorporated in June 1994 as
Kumpulan Perubatan Penawar Sdn Bhd (KPP) with its own management team and Board of
Directors. This promotes further expansion with the vision of the company's directors being
implemented by its team of management.
Now with its team of assertive and energetic workforce, the company has transformed itself from its
single practice GP in the beginning into a well-organised and reputable corporation. Its
professionally trained team provided efficient and dedicated services to the general public as well as
to corporate clients.
The range of services provided now has expanded to other related medical services like Pharmacy,
Psychiatric Specialist Clinic, a community Hospital, Occupational Health Services, Dialysis Centre
and many more.
The continous support it received will ensure its team to strive to provide even better service in the
future.

MANAGEMENT TEAM
Kumpulan Perubatan Penawar Sdn Bhd is headed by dynamic Directors and supported by a team of
abled, dedicated and experienced workforce.
The focus is on creating and maintaining an
effective and efficient commercially-responsive
operating healthcare services. In this regard,
various measures and standard operating
procedures have been introduced to reflect
the character of the organization as a customer
focused entity.
Regular meetings and brainstorming sessions
are conducted to address needs of our panel
companies and customers. In our search for
excellence and enhancement of service levels,
close rapport is fostered with panel
companies to monitor their requirements.
Regular trainings are also conducted to keep
the staff abreast with the changing technology,
automation and computerization.

MANPOWER
MEDICAL OFFICERS
All our clinics are run by experienced Medical Officers
and are registered with the Malaysia Medical Council
(MMC). Administration of clinics is run by our trained
staff ranging from the registration, data input to billing
of patients. This allows our doctors to focus solely on
patient care. Adhering strictly to our Company's Medical
Officer code of conduct by practicing the "4-Cs", i.e.
Clinical Competence, Patient Care, Courtesy and
Good Communication.
STAFFING
Our main staff consists of State Registered Nurse (SRN) and
nursing aides who provide services directly to our patients and
assist our Medical Officers professionally.
Our training unit conducts regular training to all our resident staff
to ensure their competence in all clinical operation aspects from
providing nursing aide to dispensing of medication and also
administrative work. Our staff abide by the code of "TRUST"
which mean their aim is to provide complete medical assistance
including follow-up services such as sending out reminders and
offering suggestions.
SUPPORTING STAFF
Our support staff at our headquarters provide ancillary
services to our clients. Other than assisting our clinic staff,
they also provide training for clients, medical related
consultations, coordinate on-site programs, provide
customer service other things.
These Clinic support includes medication and disposable
item supply to all our clinics and also provides training to
upgrade our staff to the highest professional level. We
also train to our billing staff to ensure production of
accurate and reliable invoices and customers feedback are
looked into plus many other functions.
The department at the headquarters are divided into clinic operation, accounts, admin, human
resource, inventory, maintenance, IT and customer service. These departments plan and coordinate
the operation of the company services.

LEVERAGING THE POWER OF IT
To deliver quality medical service, speedy and accurate access to medical information or record is
paramount. A compromise in any one of these two components will lead to
inevitable disaster.
Consequently, we have designed, built and refined our
information systems architecture (hardware and
software) around the requirement that all relevant
medical information is made available accurately and
with no perceptible delay, regardless of the location of
the branch.
KPP demands this not only at the doctor-to-patient
level (micro level) but also at the organization-toorganization level (macro level). KPP has adopt
MediNET (www.medinet.com.my), an application
service provider (ASP) that serves the healthcare
community intergrate their business process into a
body of practice that transcends role and industry
boundaries.
Corporate clients will also benefit from advanced web-base implementation, which allows real time,
online access to billing, medical leave and employee medical records. Corporate administrators now
need only to deal with one source even if their own operations cover a wide geographical area.
Our very own internal IT Department was created to make all this possible so that you can focus
your resources on your own core competencies without having to deal with yet another
administrative time-waster.
At KPP, we believe that comprehensive healthcare does not stop at curing the sick. It must also
facilitate those who deal with us. Comprehensive healthcare includes reducing the burden of our
client's administrative tasks.

POLIKLINIK PENAWAR
The Group owns a chain of medical practices known as Poliklinik Penawar with strategically located
branches throughout the country. These clinics are scattered all over Malaysia and deal with all
aspects of medically related activities. A central Management Team administers the daily operation.
They are supported by experts in areas of administration, finance, pharmaceutical products,
corporate health services and information technology.
All clinics are electronically linked-up with a computer networking system called MediNET that has
been installed to enable correct and on time billing to our panel companies and to provide a
comprehensive patient database with restricted access for medical purposes.

meant to save your company lost time of employees having to travel out from the factory /
company as we have our own laboratory personnel in the team to cater for your industrial
requirements.

 Numbers of Patient - 30 pax and above (maximum 60 pax per day depending on the type
of medical examination)

Panel Company
Currently we are panel to 2000 companies. Panel Application can be forwarded to us via form
(Please refer to Appendix I)
Panel appointment with Penawar can be obtained simply by filling up the Panel Application Form.
Special attention is needed when filling up the form mainly;

The required conditions - we will provide services based on whatever conditions
instructed in writing by the company. Therefore it is advisable to write your requirement as
detail as possible such as.
i. Types of treatment covered by the company.
ii. Special allocation to certain employees,
iii.Identification used / honored for treatment ie by using either one or
both of Penawar Medical Chit, Borang Pengesahan Rawatan (BPR), IC,
company badge etc
(Please feel free to attach additional paper to detail your requirement since the space
provided within the form is quite limited)

A copy of Form 49 and Form 24 for our reference. (Where applicable)
We will process your application within 1 week upon receiving a completed submission. Activation
of panel will only valid when you receive a confirmation letter from our office.

The thrust of this division is Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and health issues of
corporations. This service includes activities such as training, medical screening, surveillance,
review monitoring and appraisals. Our consultants will help you run the gauntlet of OSHA /

Penawar Community Academy is Kumpulan Perubatan Penawar training division which is
established to further serve the community training and development needs. We are an HRDC

The program will impart to participants the basic
knowledge as well as skills of rendering First Aid &
CPR. The objective is to equip participants with Basic
First Aid knowledge and skills to enable them to handle
common injuries at their workplace before further

The course is a combination of theory and practical
sessions where participants will have the opportunity to
participate in the demonstration as well as in the
practical aspect of the training. Conducted by our
doctors and trained paramedics, the course is delivered
in bilingual i.e; English and Malay, using multimedia
presentation to enhance the audience understanding &
interest.

Background
A community hospital is the natural extension of KPP commitment to ideal of community
health. Naturally, we explored every conceivable avenue to make this dream a reality.
Finally, after a lot of hard work and endless sacrifices, Hospital Penawar Pasir Gudang
opened its doors to the public in August 1997.
Secondary Heading
Being true our ideal of bringing quality healthcare nearer to you, Pasir Gudang was the most
logical for a new hospital. For the local community, the nearest hospital was almost 40km
away. Now the local community enjoys the facilities and medical attention of a community
hospital it badly needed but never had.
This 50-bedded, fully-facility hospital houses among the best doctors and support staff in the
country. It dispenses quality medical attention and treatment to hundreds of people on a
daily basis. However, the concept of a community hospital requires that it must be able to
do so in a way that is affordable to all. Because KPP has the size and strength to achieve
strong economies of scale, the hospital is able to do just that.
Initiated by KPP, Hospital Penawar is a joint-venture project with Kumpulan Perubatan
Johor Sdn Bhd (KPJ).
HOSPITAL PENAWAR PANDAN CITY - COMING SOON
The demand for community based health care spurs the idea of having a second Hospital
Penawar within the vicinity of Johor Bahru and thus we are establishing Hospital Penawar
Pandan City by the 2nd quarter of 2013.
Strategically accessible by various access roads – Jalan Tebrau from the city center and Kota
Tinggi area , Jalan Kangkar Tebrau for Pasir Gudang access and the North-South Plus
Highway for those coming from Kulai, Gelang Patah and other northern areas – it is meant
to provide the community with an affordable medical attention.
