Cover Letter by CKAP Coordinator of Changes to CKAP in 2015
James will be placing an order for Louis Garneau Jerseys mainly Large in March 2016 to insure we have all sizes. The ATAC
jerseys are of the same new design as the Louis Garneau jerseys but a size smaller so an ATAC large would be a Louis Garneau
Medium., They are a nice jersey at a reasonable price and I have purchased one and wear it often.
New for the year 2015 is a PDF formatted cycling log, which you can type on it direct and send as an attachment to an email.
These logs were created by Bud Jorgensen of Tour du Canada and you may find them easier to fill out than the Excel logs which
will still be available for those who are familiar and want to use the Excel log. Years 2014, 2015 & 2016 are uploaded on the
CKAP web site www.ckap.ca. First Excel, scroll Typeable PDF scroll Plain PDF or you can request James to send a log by email.
Lets all save a tree, if mailing your log please print page 2 of the cycling log on the back of the log only if your going to use it for
the Tour du Canada - CKAP award. Members who send their logs in as attachment to an email need not send a printed copy by
mail as I will check, then print as soon as received. Members should include their comment for “From the Peloton” in the body of
the email and I will print that email on the back of your log. Please include all information in the address part of the CKAP cycling
log, even if there is no change. With the Excel log address info you must click on the left side of each cell to put the text in the bar
above your log then type into that bar, then click on the left side of the next cell to put the text in the bar above your log and the
first will return with your typing to the log - Please include only one cycling club that you belonged to in the relevant year, If your
club membership status changed please note this and if you do not belong to a cycling club add NIL for the Hewes award.
Members please try in 2016 to find new female members other than Canadians to compete for the new Pauline McKinley
International Olympic Goal Award, only Canadian female members have won both the Canadian & international,

This award recognizes the collective participation of

that has the highest annual total of CKAP registered km.

A CKAP 100,000 Km Club plaque will be awarded to each

HISTORY PAGE
CKAP is a fitness incentive program developed by Tom Parry, first recreational director of the Ontario
Cycling Association (OCA), for cyclist who would like to improve their health and life-style through cycling.
To date this program has encouraged over 1,361 cyclist, on a voluntary basis to log their daily kilometres
throughout the year. Awards have been presented to participants for achieving CKAP totals from 1,000 to
25,000 km's in the incentive program, with a 100,000 Km Club for those who wish to cycle into the next
dimension, There are now 79 CKAP 100,000 Km Club members since CKAP was formed in 1976.
In the year 2001a new Handcycling and 2004 a Special Needs Program were introduced so that all cyclist
could participate in The CKAP Program.
The history of the program dates back to the excitement of the 1976 Montreal Olympics. Groups of
cyclists from different points of Canada were cycling to Montreal. Tom Parry recognized, why not extend
the challenge, and sense of participation by encouraging individual cyclist to log their cycling km and
metaphorically participate in the Olympic Goals. By the end of 2015 CKAP participants have cycled a
distance greater than 29.6 million CKAP registered kilometers.

Les Humphreys – 158 – Almonte, Ontario Canada: Highlight of the year was the GAP Tour, a ride from Pittsburgh to Harpers Ferry on the
Great Allegheny Passage a rail / canal trail linking western Pennsylvania with the eastern seaboard. The ride took in the Frostburg to
Cumberland steam rail link and on return, the Gettysburg battlefield, for a total distance of 850 km. – A ride from Ottawa to Montreal in
September to watch the Montreal Grand Prix was memorable in that it involved 3 days of rain and the Prescott Russell Trail.
Orlando (Ciclo) Goveia – 183 – Chatham, Ontario Canada: From the cycling standpoint, 2015 was not a stellar year for me, at least not in
distance ridden; although the cycling I did do was perhaps the most enjoyable I’ve had in years. My health was up-and-down (perhaps a
symptom of getting in to my middies’ 70’s) and just about every time I began to feel good I’d maybe push myself too much and I’d have to
back off again. But that’s all fine too ‘cause when I felt ender the weather I’d catch up on my reading and watching old movies. Also did more
walking/running and resistance work in the early and late part of the year? Anyway, All the best to you your family and wishes for 2016.
Frank “Woody” A. Graham III – 274 – Columbia, South Carolina U.S.A: It seems as if I have begun to feel my age. I have developed
many physical problems this past year. I have bladder problems, lost vision on my left eye (venous occlusion), aerial flutter, and dropped foot. I
started Bubba's coast 2 coast 2015 in San Diego to St. Augustine and made to Louisiana before I had to abandon because my left eye became
infected and had an amald stent inserted in Baton Rouge. It has taken me awhile to get used to not having depth perception. Since then I have
had a friend, Jim Bernard, help me to keep cycling. I look forward to a healthier year in 2016. As ever, Woody.
Jerry Ford – 321 – Burlington, Ontario Canada: My CCM road bike with chrome trimmed foes, a leather saddle and a Campanile seat post
draws attention now and then. It is a case of an antique riding an antique.
James D. Wilson – 341 – Ottawa, Ontario Canada: Well I did not make 2015 a cycling year mainly because of my back which has major
nerve pain. However I’m looking forward to 2016 as I have finally found the pill that blocks nerve pain and works for me removing about 80%
of the pain. I’m so hopeful that I went out and bought a new Trek mountain (city) bicycle and again will give my old city bike to my doctor
CKAP 1201 Dr. Michael Yachnin who will use it to commute from home to office both summer and winter which has petty much destroyed the
old one by rust. I will still have the best veggie garden and lawn on the street but I’m going to cycle much more. – I’m also thrilled that Ontario
has after 11 year finally taken up the challenge to bring the Hewes Challenge Club Trophy back to Ontario. However they will have to work
hard to keep it as Victoria Wednesday Morning Coffee Tours are all BC Randonneurs led by no other than Ken Bonner.
Paul Davison – 345 – Wolfville, Nova Scotia Canada: Not my best year for distance cycled, but certainly a new record for vertical distance
climbed, through Apennines and Dolomites and did two very hilly tours in 2015. The first was Bike Dreams Bella Italia tour from Palermo
Sicily to Lake Como. – The second was the first tw0 sections of Tour d’ Africa's South American Epic, Cartagena Colombia to Quito Ecuador.
This one was the more difficult of the two due to more gravel roads, plus effects of high altitude. Both extremely rewarding for scenery
Ken Schykulski – 381 – Winnipeg, MB Canada: 2015 was the highest annual mileage in 37 year’s with CKAP. Retirement is good for
cycling. I did lots of good local riding, a nice Bike the Border tour in North Dakota and then a great tour in Quebec. Happy cycling in 2016
Tony (Dr. J.A.S.) Marriott – 409 – Millgrove, ON Canada: My greatest cycling (and running) moment of 2015 was reaching the podium as
2nd in the 80 – 84 category in the Duathlon World Championships in Adelaide Australia in October. – Otherwise I have continued cycle
commuting and done a couple of fund raising rides. Thanks for all your work with CKAP, Best Wishes for 2016.
Mark Beaver – 428 – Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada: Greetings another decent year for me, after a rough start with the worst snowfalls in
history in Nova Scotia in February and March – fortunately I was able to escape to Tucson AZ and cycle 2000 km with PAC tour, including a
200k brevet and a 300k brevet. I completed our brevet series with my club Randonneurs Nova Scotia including our 1000k brevet in July – then
finished my 4th Paris-Brest-Paris in August in 74 hr 43 min. Looking forward to more of the same next year, I’ve signed up for the Rocky
Mountain 1200k in BC in July 2016. I shall roll over 300,000 CKAP kilometers in April or May, with any degree of luck. Greetings to all my

Graham Stewart – 439 – Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada: This is the furthest I have ridden in 25 years. We spent January, November and
December in Green Valley Arizona and this helped with the distance. We went to Milton for the Pan Games Cycling Track events and also
road with the legendary Phil Van Alstyne for the first time in many years and had a few great rides. Canada did great on the track. I am looking
forward to reaching 200, 000 km in 2016 probably in May or June.
Laurie Leslie – 440 – Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada: “Successfully completed another safe and enjoyable year of riding. My increased 2015
distance compared to 2014 can be attributed to the one extra month that I spent in south-eastern Arizona, i.e. 3 months vs. 2months. Although
the AZ weather has been significantly colder than normal in the last 2 months, I’ve been able to keep on riding, thanks to being smart enough to
pack all of my cold-riding gear (all the stuff I was hoping not to have to wear). Looking forward to continuing to move forward at my
predictably steady pace and roll though 200,000
KM in 2016”
Douglas Yardley – 462 – Scarborough, Ontario Canada: This year I got hurt for the first time – It was silly – I sprained my knee in a fall
when a boot snagged in my pedal. Recovered quickly – I saved $1294 dollars on public transportation fares
Ron Newhook – 488 – Ottawa, Ontario Canada: This was a good year for my cycling, mostly day trips in the Ottawa area, often to favorite
bakeries or cafes. Also a few day trips in the Adirondacks near the family cottage. I had a Marinoni Sportivo made for me as a pre-retirement
gift.” Which is a pleasure to ride?” I rode a PB of almost 13,000 km this year and would have made it to that goal, if it weren’t for the big
snowstorm on December 29th. Thanks again for all of your work on CKAP.
Manfred Kuchenmuller – 730 – Richmond, British Columbia Canada: Greetings from dreary looking place on the Fraser River where I
intend to Kayak later today. I have some difficulty getting an X in a couple places on the front sheet. Yes I am ok receiving the annual report in
PDF in my e-mail I do use a GPS cycling computer which seems to be shrinking my distances from year to year. Actually I am finding it harder
to ride the long distances and may have to focus on the shorter ones. My 400 k and 600 k Rando rides in 2015 nearly finished me off and while
I swore that I would not ride those distances again, I have again softened and plan to ride a full Rando series in 2016 with the Rocky Mountain
1200 the ice cream on the pie. I am committed to continuing my riding but will also continue to row, kayak and ski. Cheers Manfred
Dorothy Earnshaw – 737 - David Earnshaw -738 – Sarnia, Ontario Canada: One of the unsung benefits of climate change this year is very
reasonable totals for the 4th quarter. Now if only we could do the same for the 1st. quarter! Best Wishes
Terry – 762 – Quinn – 1415 – Tala Kopeck – 1427 –Victoria, British Columbia Canada Our second year as CKAP members was eventful.
We Started the year with a chilly New Years Day Populaire and then did the Victoria Populaire in March. The highlight of the year was our
cycle tour to Bellingham for the Northwest Tandem Rally. Camping at Washington Park, riding the Chuckanut Drive three times and all the ice
cream were memorable. Tala (10) struggled with 3 foot injuries while I was out of commission in September with a back injury due to illconsidered sheep lifting incident. Quinn (8) was the reliable power in the centre of our triple and is eager to shed her kiddy cranks in 2016.
Judith Ducommun – 834 – Belleville, Ontario Canada: 2015 was a very good year. We dad lots of riding in Belleville and were able to get
away to Hilton Head for 2 weeks. My favorite rides were on the trails of Hilton Head discovering new places. I look forward to many new
cycling adventures in 2016.
Larry Ducommun – 835 – Belleville, Ontario Canada: 2015 was a very good year. Due to some health issues road mileage was down. We
got to Hilton Head for 2 weeks of cycling. Judy and I continue to enjoy our daily rides on the Belleville Riverfront Trails.
Sylvia Walker – 920 – Wasaga Beach, Ontario Canada: It was a great year for riding with an early start and a late finish. Being retired has
helped – no more waiting until after work to ride! – I may be a little slower as I age but the endurance is still there. – I’m hoping for an early
spring (as I sit and watch the snowstorm outside my window) Sylvia
Stanislaw Skonieczny – 922 –Toronto, Ontario Canada: It was a mixed bag year for me. I failed to make 15,000 in 2015 (it was one of my
goals for 2015). But I achieved the other goal – to pass 600,000 km mark. I just barely passed it last December. Best wishes Stan
Phil Renaud - 973 – Brantford, Ontario Canada: I am almost ashamed to submit my cycling log for this year. 2015 was the lowest kilometre
total since I joined CKAP in 1995. Running took over my exercise life this year. Hope all CKAPers have a great year in 2016.
Philip Burgess – 988 – Dundas, ON – Canada: 2015 I retired so now I can do my # 1 Bucket List Item in 2016 the Tour du Canada see you

Irwin Nayer – 1006 – Mississauga, Ontario Canada: I was lead rider at the start of the 2015 Tour de Mississauga as route marshal for the
120 km route followed by 3,800 riders on five routes. It was a great event. Beyond that I want to wish you all the best for a happy and healthy

Andre Marier – 989 – Ottawa, Ontario Canada: 2015 was another exceptional cycling year. With less than 100km of training, I drove my
car with my bike in tow to Alberta to hook up with my buddy Henk to fly to Iceland to undertake an exploration Bicycle Adventure of that
country that totaled almost 1,700km. Of the 21 consecutive years of adventure tours around the world, this was by far the most demanding with
constant high winds changing direction on a whim several times a day and no trees to hide behind this far North. On the bright side. We didn’t
see nighttime for 40 days as we came within spitting distance of the Arctic Circle. – Upon returning to Canada, I parked my car in Victoria, BC
and returned to Ottawa, ON via USA, in and/or across 14 different States. This leg was another 7,200km. One exciting milestone was crossing
100,000km of fully loaded Adventure touring near Fowler Colorado, a couple of days South of Denver. Another milestone was, approaching
Toronto near the CN Tower, “Old Yeller” my current (newest) touring bike rolled through the 40,000km mark, once around the world! A plug
for the Gates carbon belt drive, it now has 32,000km and still going strong. My front tire, “Marathon Plus Touring Tire” is also still going
strong, flat less in over 22,000km and still okay to start next years tour. According to the fit bit attached to my leg at the ankle, for the combined
trip of exactly 8,879km the crank did 2,445,810 complete revolutions. For those of you who may be interested, you can visit my Facebook page

John & Debbie Victor - 1029 – 1254 - Appleton, Wisconsin U.S.A: Debbie had shoulder replacement surgery, no log for her this past season
– After almost 45 years of cycling and walking both my knees failed this season – This winter both are being replaced and I look forward to
riding again and continuing to ride strong.
John Siemens – 1075 – Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada: 2015 was a good year for riding, and other than a few flats, no mishaps. I look
forward to more of the same in 2016! – work to live, live to ride, ride to work
Alan Medcalf – 1086 – Brockville, Ontario Canada: At long last, I finally passed the 100,000km mark! My distance has been down the last
couple of years due to injuries and late-arriving spring weather. But I got there! Those who know me understand that achieving this goal is more
than a little humbling. My CKAP logging started in 2000, following getting back on the bike after the second of two total hip replacements.
Those surgeries ended 6 years of hobbling around in pain with a cane. My bionic hips have now cycled over 100,000km, and endured 16
winters of spin classes at least 3 per week – and they remain solid and fully functional! This year marked another change for me too – even
though the total distance wasn’t huge, instead of almost all of it being countryside cruising and touring, only just over half was. Most of the rest
was commuting around town and some unicycling – just because!
Haynesworth Van Epps IV – 1098 – Spartanburg, South Carolina U.S.A. I was reading the messages today about the fellow breaking the
cycling record… Wow!!! I thought Woody or Ken would have been there. Still, those guys are Wow too!!! I think I do decent with weeks over
100 km, then others with zero. (Km always looks better than miles anyway except for the zero weeks!) Those bad ones are when I’m lucky
enough to travel with Lee. I miss my riding but at least I’m out doing stuff and taking photos. If you ever want to see some (not many of me)
you can look me up an Instagram. I’m… SNAILSPLACE Yeah, I like snails! Mainly of Hawaii and around Penang.
Gerry Irvine – 1099 – St. Catharines, Ontario Canada: Just returned from a short term mission in Honduras to a lick of snow and cold
temperatures. – “My time von the bike last year was much less than I would have liked, due to family and friends visits across Canada, however
I did take my bike to Cuba in February for a 10 day tour where we had a fabulous time. Later in the year I went to Nova Scotia where my
intentions were to do some of the Cabot Trail, but this was cancelled due to a mechanical problem. I did manage a couple of days on a patched
up bike, riding some of the Sunshine Trail, obviously a poor substitute. One of my goals for a long time is to do the Trail, so I trust this will be
possible before I hang up my touring bike.”
Fabio Zorzes – 1108 - Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada: in 2015 I was no longer a member of Thunder Bay Cycling Club so I have on mileage
to report for the club. Personally I only logged 2,105 km due to surgeries. I am currently in Argentina doing a cross South America tour so I
won’t have a log in for a month or so. Sorry. Regards

to reach 75,000km by the time I’m 75 years old. Thanks for getting me signed up with CKAP many years ago.
Wayne Harrington – 1132 – Vernon, British Columbia Canada: Attached, find my cycling log. Nothing to report, zero kilometres this past
year as I adjust to residing in Saskatchewan. – I don’t know if you have a policy for reporting this on the web site. – The two members that I
cycled the most kilometres with, when I resided in the lower mainland region of BC, both died in 2015. Harold Bridge CKAP 1209, died in
April age 87. Larry Voth CKAP 1119 died in November age 68.

have a baby & when I was in Nova Scotia visiting my family & showing baby Harrison off they watched him so I could do a Velo Halifax ride

cycling logs this soon. Regardless this is it. If we were into the fat biking craze I might still be spinning but we were content with good health
and weather this past year. We will stick to our three season schedule for now. Thank you!
Mike Thomas – 1167 – Edinburgh, Mid Lothian – United Kingdom: Note quite as good as the previous 2 years but that is probably because
I missed 3 weeks in the summer when we were away and then on holiday in the US without my handcycle. – I finally reached 50,000 CKAP
kilometers last year and I’ve indicated I’d like a plaque but I’ll need to work out how to pay for this and I think I still owe for at least one
previous medal. I’ve got a $50 USD note available but I’m sure this isn’t going to be enough. – is it possible to use PayPal to transfer money?
Eugene Vandal – 1168 – Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada: Thanks for the reminder it’s been a crazy winter so far.
Phil Piltch – 1172 - Calgary, Alberta Canada: No epic rides this past year. I was visiting family and friends in the Toronto area and did a
60km ride from Goodwood to Port Perry and back. Also did my first ever mountain bike ride there but did not count the kms as I had no idea
what distance I did. Also did a second MTB ride here in town as part of a Corporate Challenge event (13,5km) but did not bother counting it
either. 2016 will likely bring some bigger distance as I have some biking plans for this year, among them perhaps the Golden Triangle (in the
Rockies) and a few brevets with the local Randonneurs club out here and the highest paved road in Canada. So far cycling these days is just
commuting to and from work and the odd errands. Nice that Calgary does actually plough major sections of its pave trail network so I am able
to use them most of the year (and the trails are more direct than the roads to my work, hoe’s that for a twist and in better shape in winter than
the roads to boot. Phil
Sheila Ascroft – 1184 – Ottawa, Ontario Canada: It was a struggle to make 2,000 km last year. But I’ve started the New Year with a hip
replacement so thing will get better – eventually.
Cameron Stephen – 1197 – Medicine Hat, Alberta Canada: Sorry for the delay. Been away again,. My last trip. Retiring in 30 days and
should be able to actually log some km this summer.
Lois MacDougall – 1198 – Fredericton, New Brunswick Canada Finally I’ve completed my 2015 Cycling Distance Logue and it’s in
kilometers and I’ve enclosed it. I tried to complete it on line so I could send it that way but somehow lost it when I tried to send it so have to
mail it. I’m sorry to be so late again but life gets in the way and like everyone else, I’m Busy with many things. – I hope this coming year 2016
I’ll be able to bike more but gardening and home duties keep me pretty busy. Thank you so much for looking after all of us out here that you
don’t get to meet but nevertheless are grateful and appreciate the incentive that CKAP always offers. I really appreciate the help and service that
you offer and especially you James for you’ve been working hard at this for a long time. I hope you are well and that this coming biking year
will be very good for you.

Craig Premack – 1215 – Burnaby, British Columbia Canada: My story… Hello, it was 2014 when I became famous for a rotten reason. I
suffered a gunshot wound during an attack while participating in a BC Randonneurs ride, The Cache Creek 600. Recovering doesn’t make the
news, but it went well. Though a plate remains in my arm, I was able to train hard. – In 2015 the comeback was on, I finished my first Ironman,
my first Paris-Brest-Paris 1200, and won a Provincial Running Championship. Considering the other possibilities… I feel very lucky.

Sam Bootsma – 1226 – Toronto, Ontario Canada: My year started off well and I was starting to rack up km. Then I broke a bone in my right
leg while XC skiing. I was “skating” and got a pole in front of a ski and down I went. I do this regularly, but this is the first time something
went wrong. The bone broke right inside my ankle and so I was in a cast for six weeks. And after this I needed rehab. End result? My most
productive cycling weeks were spent at home in a cast. I still got over 7,000 km under my belt so I am pleased. This compares to almost 11,000
km in 2014. I also still have issues with a muscle in my right-lower back firing when it does not need to. And my right knee is a bit worse than
2014 – possibly due to my leg being in a cast for so long. Hopefully 2016 will be a better cycling year.
Pat Crosscombe – 1227 – Ottawa, Ontario Canada 2015 was a banner year for cycling as I was able to start in March and didn’t end until
almost Christmas. I can’t remember a year like this one for a long time.
David Kwan – 1228 – Thornhill, Ontario Canada: I hurt my hip and Achilles tendon, had limited mileage. Hoping 2016 will be a better
mileage year.
Louise McLaren – 1229 – Ottawa, Ontario Canada: I still love cycling.
Victor Reinberg – 1230 – Brampton, Ontario Canada: I still love bicycling, road and my all Mountain bike and my indoor trainer. Mileage
recorded though is only on the road on my Merlin Cielo, neither with my Trek EX8 nor trainer. My log is a mess and not up to date but my read
cycling computer has 516.3 km for 2015. If you add that number to the records I will follow up with a completed log scanned and emailed this
week. Since working steady out of town I know all my riding occurred on Sunday afternoons.
Mark Hulsebosch – 1235 – Brampton, Ontario Canada: After a few years off the pedals I have been able to rearrange my schedule to allow
me to bicycle commute to work again I considered 1,650 Km for 2015 a good start!
Jeffrey Crivellaro – 1238 – Toronto, Ontario Canada: My, I’m happy to say that I beat my 50,000 km goal this year! Happy Trails!
Dave and Anne-Marie Carter McAuslan - 1248 – 1348 – Carleton Place, Ontario Canada: I had a good year (2015) of cycling. Second
highest total km, most days on the bike and most cyclecross events ridden. Not to mention December weather! On the bike on the 27th and on
skis on the 29th. – We are in good health here. Anne-Marie has retired and we have brought a small trailer for summer trips. Jaxon the dog,
nearing 9 years old, is still quite active and gets out every day for 1.5 – 2 hrs walk / jog so he gets us out even when the weather is lousy.
Gary Baker – 1249 – Cultus Lake, British Columbia Canada: For me 2015 was a challenging year. I had a bad crash in Sept. 2014 and had
full reconstructive shoulder surgery in early Nov, 2014. The four tendons in my right shoulder all had to be reattached to either the appropriate
bone structure or the Rotator Cuff, It was a mess. – The good news is I worked hard, did the qualifying rides for PBP and successfully
completed that French classic for the second time. Following PBP my wife flew to France and we did 4 weeks of cycle touring. Magical !!!!
Robert White – 1251 – Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Canada: Another great cycling year with the Ramblers, my grandson & Can Bike Students.
– Got an amazing E-Bike mid December – what a game changer. Tailwinds
George – 1252 – Pat Fralic – 1362 – Brooklyn Queens County, Nova Scotia Canada: Had a good year cycling all close to home.
Ken Bonner – 1255 – Victoria, British Columbia Canada: Rode lots of enjoyable brevets this year, but the stand-out was the inaugural
Florida Sunshine 1200 last May. Ontario Randonneurs Dick Felton and Dave Thompson, with their terrific team of volunteers, created a
memorable event. All riders were tracked by a SPOT-like device attached to every rider’s bicycle. Dave & Dick did a tremendous job of
providing on-the-route support. Great to see many veteran 1200 km riders I have met over the years, and to meet a number of ‘1200 km
newbie’s’ – all have great stories to tell. – Keep moving as long as you can! … Ken
Ron Matsushita – 1268 – St. Catharines, Ontario Canada: Hello and Happy 2016 Sir James! Beyond frozen locks and getting older I hope
all is well. Of course I am delinquent again but I have attached my km schedule. 2015 was a busy year outside of cycling so I missed many
opportunities for riding but I purchased a new cross bike(Kona Jake the Snake) and had great success (comfort, flexibility – road or trail) in
December riding in different weather / road conditions so here’s hoping for a great 2016 riding year. – I keep thinking I should send some
money for admin cost if nothing else Heck Yes! Do I owe anything? Will check Cheers Ran
Tony Jinkinson – 1270 – Toronto, Ontario – Canada: Not a great year> The shoulder is still bothering me. Any rides longer then about
15km and I have to stop. Good news, I’ve begun working with a personal trainer at the gym and he’s going to wotk ar unlocking the shoulder
muscles and freeing up the ligaments which have some calcium on them. Anyhow, not giving up.

Jim Fidler – 1286 – Victoria, British Columbia Canada: My wife and I did a nice tour early in 2015. From Los Angeles we cycled to the
Mexican border and then back to San Diego before heading east though Arizona, New Mexico and on to El Paso, Texas.
From there we travelled via Amtrak back to Los Angeles, picked up our car and drove back home to Victoria, BC. Good memories!
Erkan Sarioglu – 1299 – Oakville, Ontario Canada: Sorry for the delay but I have been on the road most of the time (3months in total) and
out of the saddle due to some health issues ( 2 months) which caused less km’s and a delay response to you. However, I still enjoy riding
whenever I can. I felt bad about your injury and I hope the new medicine you found helps your pain get better. – Thanks for all what you’re
doing for us and the cycling community. You are still rocking! All the best in 2016.
Gerd Neumann – 1304 – Stoney Creek, Ontario Canada: Another cycling season has past much too soon and fast.
Fred Loftin – 1305 – Toronto, Ontario Canada: Just returned From Nova Scotia. My daughter Cathy is still paralyzed but putting on a very
brave attitude. At the moment Cathy has regained use of her left hand, left leg and can now talk again. She can also stand but not yet walk. We
have promised each other that if she can develop a little strength in her right leg we will buy a three wheel recumbent this summer and then do
a short ride together in Prince Edward County. Pray for Us James. Fred lost his wife this year also, so if you think you’re having a bad
year…
Florence Bradley – 1312 – Birmingham, Alabama U.S.A.: I rode mainly a mtn. bike this year. Longest ride was 100 km in July and 90 in
August. I did not keep a log, but bike computers show a total of 572km for the year.
Ken Knutson – 1320 – Tracy, California U.S.A.: My big goal going into the year was to ride in each U.S. state boarding the Atlantic, a big
challenge for me living in California. I was fortunate to have good health, excellent weather and an agreeable wife to support my cycling. I
reached my goal in October, exploring 16 new states along the way. – This was the first time in many years I didn’t ride in Canada.
Graham Fishlock – 1327 – Ladysmith, British Columbia – Canada: This was another busy cycling year. The main goal and cherished
memory was to finish PBP once again with 2 good friends. All three of us finished together on our 3 “Naked Bikes” made by the well-known
bike “Constructer” Sam Wittingham. All 3 bikes were just made last year – Phil and Jim went with titanium bikes with electronic shifting. I had
a stainless steel bike made to facilitate full touring including a “USA” port in the stem and couplers. It was a thrill to finish together and already
making plans for the next PBP in 2019.All the best, James, and another hearty thank-you for all of your time and much appreciated efforts.
Sandy & Murray Greer – 1333 – 1334 – Leduc, Alberta Canada: It wasn’t a productive cycling year for us but we are hoping next year will
be. We are off to Uganda in Jan. on a 5 week mission trip including taking medical supplies to a refugee camp. Perhaps we’ll get some cycling
in there!
Bob Goodison – 1336 – Sorrento, British Columbia Canada: I had a good year, highest mileage year so far, plus first Eau de Hell Week,
and my first PBP. Thanks, Bob
Brian Gilchrist – 1354 – Winnipeg, Alberta Canada: Mileage is down as commuting by bike wasn’t an option in 2014 and I bought a
parking pass in 2015 (silly me!). Hoping to get the km up in 2016. Lots of time on the trainer so far. If I am lucky, I’ll do some randonneuring.
Dave Macmurchie – 1360 – Shawinigan Lake, British Columbia Canada: bicycle (n): a precision device for converting
bananas to kilometres.
Aaron Davis – 1361 – Sheridan, Montana – U.S.A.: I reached a personal best this year in distance total with 6,625 km on Trek
road, Giant Mountain MTB and a Diamondback Cross bicycles. I also broke 1,000 km in a single month for just the 2nd time since
joining CKAP
Marcel Gingras – 1369 – Port Colborne, Ontario Canada: Good morning, Sir James: You will find another website I now use
to keep track of my rides, it works from my new cell phone GPS. Endomondo By clicking on the website, you can see all the rides
I did since getting this phone, including my first ride in 2016. – I still have a computer on the bike =, just in case the other one
fails. I look forward to have a better year in 2016. Happy New Year to all.
Leonard W. Wright – 1373 – Sebring, Florida U.S.A.: Had a good year, passed 100,000 miles (160,934 Km) in August (started
logging miles on September 17, 2007). Also completed the year without missing a single day of riding – actually as of December
31st I’ve ridden 615 CONSECUTIVE days. I’m averaging 54 km a day (some may only be a few km but at least I’m getting out
and riding…) Have a safe year and enjoy your rides.

Kate Reed – 1377 – Edmonton, Alberta Canada: Unfortunately, not as much time on the bike this past year as I would have
liked, but at least I was able to spend some time on the bike!! For some reason, I was unable to indicate such on the form; however
my mileage is recorded by Bicycle computer. For those CKAP members that are not familiar with using the formula bar at
the top of the page to type into for cells which already have typing in them in a Excel log I suggest that you use the typeable
PDF log which can be typed direct on to the log. Left click the check boxes to put a check mark in them.
\Richard den Braber – 1393 – Chilliwack, British Columbia Canada: Another year with just a bit over 10,000 km. I am very happy with
that as I had some medical issues (a mini stroke/? TIA of as yet unknown origin) in August I still managed to make my goal. Would have been
higher but it is a little more difficult to ride when you spend time in doctors offices and hospitals waiting for test and results etc. Decided that I
would get on with ridding and then we got snow for Christmas in the lower Mainland and ice and it became more difficult to ride. But
hopefully will be back at it again this week even though the prediction is more snow. I am motivated to carry on. The doctors did say that had I
not been as fit as I was thanks to my active lifestyle things could be have been more serious. To all the CKAP riders keep it up you all motivate
me. Stay safe and ride a much as you can. Rick den Braber.
Mark Schofield – 1398 – Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Canada: 2015 was relatively good year of cycling after the brutal winter
subsided. Nova Scotia received 277 cm's of snow over February and March compared to the” normal” 82 cm's which was a big
deterrent from getting started on outside kilometers. I started a new job in April which limited my cycling adventures to Nova
Scotia. In 2016 I am planning to return to the Gran Fondo Gatineau and hope to start commuting to work by bike. Regards.
Tim Hore – 1408 – Ottawa, Ontario Canada: Managed “only” 6,080 km this year, so it’s the first time my annual total has not gone up since
I joined and indeed since I bought my road bike about 6 years ago. That said, I did manage to complete my two longest ever solo rides in 2015
– a 258 km ride from Ottawa to Campbellford in late August and a 222 km ride from Demorestville (near Picton) to Ottawa. In both cases, I
was on unfamiliar routes and added 10 or 15 km by getting slightly lost.
Michael Bos – 1409 – Ottawa, Ontario Canada: Here is my total for 2015, better than last year. I hope to get off to a good start this year too.
– Just sprained my ankle, but I guess better now than in August. All the best, Cheers.
William Dickey – 1412 – Londonderry, Northern Ireland United Kingdom: Slight reduction in quantity in 2015 but many quality km with
Paris=Brest-Paris the highlight of the year and numerous Audax Ireland brevets with rain, sleet and incipient hypothermia as constant
companions. Best wishes for 2016! William
John McFayden – 1413 – Dundas, Ontario Canada: this year went well and I was able to get in a lot of riding once the cold winter air and
snow went away last spring. I also was able to do nearly 1,000 km in Florida.
Liz Overduin – 1417 – Auburn, Ontario Canada Two days into 2016 and I already have 2 days of cycling in. Not high kms, but loads of fun.
I bought myself a Fat Tire bike…and now all the other bikes sit collecting dust! Seriously, if you haven’t tried the Fat Tire bike – you don’t
know what you are missing. When you do get around to trying it – you will feel like an invincible kid again. Maybe you already know.
John Cumming – 1429 – Ilderton, Ontario Canada: For 2015, well over 80% of my cycling was in Ontario, with the remainder in Cuba,
Kentucky and NY State. I’m assuming a detailed breakdown is not required (but ca provide it if necessary. Only Canada, not home Provence
Julian Lunardi – 1442 – LaSalle, Ontario The Metric Century Cycling Group (MCCG) starts their season with a Century ride around Essex
County capped of with a pasta dinner, Every week we train with two 50 km rides during the week and a metric century ride on the weekend,
Our season ends in October with a century ride from Key Largo to Key West in Florida. A small handful of us continue riding year round in
our Winter Warrior Challenge in adverse winter weather conditions in Ontario. We travel to participate in organized fund raising events in
Michigan, New York and even Italy. Our small group of 20 has logged over 75,000 km in 2015. For 2017 we are planning a two week ride
from Canada to Florida as a fundraiser for Leukemia. We promote teaching new cyclist the sport of road cycling with safety as our main
concern. Our motto is “Enjoying life 100 kilometers at a time
