Installing the grass catcher Follow the safety instructions and operating instructions in the operating manual for the lawn tractor. Before installing the grass catcher, park the lawn tractor on a level surface, apply the parking brake, switch the engine off and remove the spark-plug terminal. Installation diagrams The installation diagrams 1 to 13 are at the front (illustrated fold-out pages) of the manual. Fig. 1 shows the individual parts of the grass catcher. Installing the grass catcher Figs. 1 – 13 1. Remove the 4 bolts from the rear frame of the lawn tractor (Fig. 2). Note: The bolts are no longer required for further installation of the grass catcher. 2. Using the 4 bolts (H), mount the holder (E) on the rear frame of the lawn tractor (Fig. 3). Note: Ensure that the bolts have also been inserted through the rear tubular frame to secure it correctly. 3. Insert the retaining plate of the basket support (D) into the recess of the holder (E) mounted previously and secure the basket support to the holder using the screw (J) (Fig. 4). Note: Ensure that the components are positioned correctly. 4. Using the two stud bolts, insert the cover (B) through the mounting holes (on left and right) of the basket support and secure the cover with the 2 nuts (L) – (Fig. 5). 5. Open the cover (Fig. 9) and hook both grass catcher bags (A) into the basket support (Fig. 12). To do this, hook the grass catcher bag at the front into the basket support and then press the rear area of the grass catcher bag downwards until it is positioned firmly in the basket support (Fig. 12). 6. Close the cover on the grass catcher (Fig. 13). Note: Ensure that the cover engages correctly. 7. Install the discharge channel (C) – ( Figs 6 and 7): Insert the upper end of the discharge channel (C) into the opening in the grass catcher cover (Fig. 6). Note: In doing so, turn the discharge channel slightly. Remove the discharge flap or the mulch locking part from the cutter deck. Mount the lower connection piece of the discharge channel on the cutter deck and secure the connection piece with the screw removed previously from the discharge flap/mulch locking part (Fig.7). Note: Ensure that both bolt heads are positioned correctly in the recesses of the cutter deck. 8. Mount the front counterweight (F) on the front frame of the lawn tractor (Fig. 8). Turn the steering wheel all the way to the right. Push the front counterweight along the front frame until the mounting holes of the front counterweight and frame are in alignment. Put the wheels back into the straight-ahead position and attach the front counterweight to the tractor frame using the 2 bolts (I), 4 washers (G) and the 2 nuts (K). 9. Inspect the installation and perform a function test. Operating the grass catcher ! The unit, with attached grass catcher, may be operated on slopes with a maximum incline of 15% only. Attention ! Switch off the engine before opening the grass catcher cover. Emptying Switch off the engine and wait until all rotating parts have come to a standstill. Apply parking brake. Open grass catcher cover and lift up (Fig. 10). First lift grass catcher bags (A) slightly in the rear area and then take out of the supports (Fig. 11). Empty grass catcher bags. Re-attach grass catcher bags (Fig. 12). Close grass catcher cover again (Fig.13). When closing the cover, ensure that it engages correctly. 4 Cleaning Warning Do not use a high-pressure washer, because the grass catch bag could get damaged. The easiest time to clean the grass catcher is immediately after mowing. Remove and empty the grass catcher attachment. The grass sack can be cleaned by means of a powerful jet of water from a garden hose. Allow the grass catcher attachment to dry thoroughly before using it again. ! Warranty The applicable warranty conditions in different countries are issued by ourselves or by the respective national distributor. During the warranty period, any malfunctions of the unit caused by a material or manufacturing defect will be repaired free of charge. In the event of a warranty claim, please take the unit to your original dealer, or to the nearest authorised customer service centre. Additional information To ensure that the grass catcher functions optimally, the “Highlift blade” (optional accessories / or included in product package depending on model) should be installed (tightening torque of the blade screw 120 Nm). Only allow installation to be carried out from specialist garage. If required, contact your local dealer. Assistance with malfunctions Malfunction Clippings are no longer conveyed into the grass catch bag. Clippings are conveyed into the grass catch bag at a reduced volume. Possible cause Driving speed too high. Cutting height too low. Grass catch bag full. Air movement is restricted due to blocking/ matting of mesh fabric of grass catch bag with accumulation of clipping residue. 5 Remedy Reduce driving speed. Increase cutting height. Empty grass catch bag. Remove grass catch bag, and clean (see Cleaning, above).
