Why do our clients come to the Côte d’Azur?
At a time when the economic crisis has become a new way of living?
l
At a time when countries in southern Europe are better value than ever before?
l
At a time when companies are prioritising Europe's major capitals or their head offices for meetings?
l
The figures are consistent and speak for themselves - clients are indeed coming! The 28 pages of this
press kit provide insight into the reasons why they choose to come here.
World-renowned brands, exceptional airport access, a consistently innovative approach displayed by
our professionals, certified convention centres both new and renovated, magical venues from boutique
hotels in the heights of Saint-Paul de Vence to the Palace on the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula, and
more.
No other French region can boast of having hosted the G8, the G20, NATO, the International Congress
of Cardiology, the annual International Film Festival, or the MIPIM and its 20,000 participants.
Our Côte d’Azur, with its 40 kilometre-coastline stretching from Mandelieu-La Napoule to Menton,
with its 300 days of sun and its rich and varied landscape, welcomes in 1% of the world's tourists each
and every year. This tour de force is made possible by stakeholders who are continuously reinventing
themselves in a bid to keep events' organisers interested and intrigued.
The key to success in tomorrow's global world, then, is to renew, surprise and innovate to better
welcome and host our visitors.
Welcome to the Côte d’Azur!

Hospitality, catering
and well-being
Accommodation - restaurants - well-being
Hospitality facilities in the Alpes-Maritimes have been reinforced with the addition of
several newcomers, particularly in the 4- and 5-star category.
In Saint-Paul de Vence, Le Mas de Pierre***** has invested in a little Provençal farmhouse,
the Bastide des Fleurs, fully available for private hire with all the services and features of a
luxury hotel. Blending in seamlessly with the landscaped garden, this natural stone building
houses six new luxury suites.
The La Vague de Saint-Paul (formerly Unisis) hotel has been completely restyled for a new
colourful, cutting-edge look.
The Le Haut de Cagnes-sur-Mer also proceeded to renovate one of its historic hotels,
Le Cagnard.
The Pierre & Vacances Group opened a brand-new tourism residence in the heart of a fully
restyled eco-district in Roquebrune-Cap-Martincœur, designed to reduce the building's carbon
footprint as far as possible both in terms of its construction and use.
In Nice, the Hyatt group bought the Palais de la Méditerranée and the Mariott Group has fully
renovated the Elysée Palace.
PROJECTS
Marineland has announced the opening of a hotel at the famous Antibes site in 2015.
In 2015-2016, hospitality facilities in Cannes will be supplemented with the addition of a
brand-new 4-star hotel near the SNCF train station. Okko Hotels announced an extra 125 rooms
designed by Patrick Norguet.
l
Getting out and about for a breath of fresh air
The Côte d’Azur's climate allows for fantastic outdoor escapades, even in winter:
- Hotel roof-top terraces with spectacular views, such as the Plaza, the Méridien, the Aston
La Scala, the Exédra, the Radisson Blu in Nice, the 1835 in Cannes, or the swimming-pool
terrace at the Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Méditerranée, as well as the restaurant
terrace at the Palais des Congrès in Antibes, christened "The View", the Cannes terraces
of the JW Mariott Cannes hotel, the Five Seas Hotel & SPA and the 3.14. The terrace at the
Oceanographic Museum of Monaco offers an incredible 360° panoramic view!
- The Destination features a "winter beach" aspect, allowing guests to enjoy breaks and
cocktails on the seashore, whatever the season. The Majestic Barrière in particular has fully
renovated its beach on the Croisette, as has the Beau Rivage in Nice.
Nautical activities
All year round and across the entire département, a number of nautical centres set up in
the coastal towns offer a variety of facilities: stand up paddle boarding, canoeing, sailing or
catamaran excursions for small groups, as well as bigger features such as the Trans Côte d’Azur
or the company Planaria (Lérins Monastery) which recently acquired a catamaran and barge
boat designed to hold events, respectively.
l
We've said it once, and we'll say it again:
They don't come more beautiful than the Côte d’Azur's sea view Suites!
The Côte d’Azur's iconic 19th century hotels lie at the heart of the region's reputation,
and have excelled in adding to their facilities and meeting the requirements of the most
demanding of clients.
The exceptional range of products available includes the fabulous 'Les Oliviers' suites at
the Grand Hyatt Cannes Martinez, the 2 Penthouses ('Majestic' and 'Dior') at the Majestic
Barrière hotel overlooking the Palais des Festivals, the 'Grace Kelly' Suite at the Carlton
Intercontinental or the suites at the Négresco hotel in Nice…
The Thalazur Thalassotherapy Centre in Antibes has been fully renovated and offers elegant
spaces featuring terraces with breath-taking views of the sea and mountains.
The Hard Rock Café has set up its 2nd French restaurant on the Promenade des Anglais
(20 years after Paris), combining jazz and sea currents in a nod to the spirit of Nice!

2014
The Palace in Nice
This former nightclub was transformed into a venue complete with Belle Époque-era décor and
room to host 500 for cocktail parties.
The école de croupiers in Mandelieu-La Napoule
A year ago, the singular Côte d’Azur croupier training programme was launched in Mandelieu
La Napoule, a place renowned for its many casinos (around fifteen in the Alpes Maritimes alone).
Following in the wake of their highly successful training programme, the two directors are now
focusing their attentions on professional and private "Poker and Casino" events organising. A
fun, original idea for evening entertainment, seminars, incentives, gala events or team-building
activities, in which a casino complete with professional gaming materials is set up on-site. The
Ecolecasino.com team takes care of organising this custom-designed event, from organising
transport to leading poker tournaments or 'casino' events complete with prizes, catering and
attractions to be selected on-site.
Designed for groups of 30 or more, whether as competitive tournaments or introductory
sessions, participants are immersed in a fun and friendly atmosphere where no money changes
hands.
This list of renovations and new facilities is far from complete - other catering services in particular are available.

Convention Centres
on the Côte d’Azur
Antibes Juan-les-Pins – The latest of
the Côte d’Azur's Convention Centres
Designed by the Jean-Jacques Ory architects' firm, this elegant, streamlined building is an
illustration of daring and contemporary style, sending out a strong architectural message from
within the coastal resort of Juan-les-Pins.
Topped with 14,000 m² that it shares with a collection of boutiques and restaurants, the
PALAIS DES CONGRÈS boasts an amphitheatre to seat 500, 1,600 m² of exhibition space, 12
conference rooms and 500 m² of reception areas with a panoramic terrace.
Ideally located in the heart of Juan-les-Pins opposite the famous Pinède Gould and just 150
metres away from the sea, the Palais des Congrès is an exceptional location where all comforts
are accessible by foot for the convenience of convention participants.
Cannes - Major renovations in 2014
As the beating economic heart of the City of Cannes, the LE PALAIS DES FESTIVALS ET DES
CONGRÈS, is the Côte d’Azur's largest convention centre, spread across 80,000 m² including
35,000 m² of exhibition space, 26 auditoriums to seat between 40 and 2,300 as well as Gala
and meeting rooms with panoramic terraces. It has been undergoing profound change since
2013, and has carried out refurbishing and upgrading works while expanding its areas of
activity.
Following the overhaul of its façades and the Théâtre Debussy, the restoration of convention
organisers' offices and the renovating of its small auditoriums and famous steps, a 3rd phase
of work has just been completed. The Palais offers its event organiser clients, Cannes locals,
visitors and spectators a new space featuring clean, contemporary lines and an iconic Grand
Auditorium Louis Lumière room, which has been fully refurbished and upgraded.
In addition to these major works, the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès proceeded to bring
some of its existing lifts up to scratch, to restore its logistics, security and sanitary facilities, to
replace flooring, walls and ceilings and to make the move to energy-saving lighting in compliance
with its Sustainable Development policy (Iso 9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001 certified and Iso 26000
assessed).
Since 2009, the Palais has been reinforcing its commitment to this issue by prioritising
Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility. The latter have taken shape
via HQE-certified sustainability projects that aim to reduce environmental impact (waste
recycling, pollution prevention and reduction, relationship with locals, etc.).
"Through these different stages of work, we have realised just how crucial it is that our
building now meets environmental requirements, both for our own company and for our
clients. By autumn 2015, we will be enjoying unique facilities that will strengthen our presence
and influence in France and abroad," explains Martine Giuliani, Director General of the Palais
des Festivals et des Congrès.
Mandelieu-La Napoule
Located in the heart of the town and the Côte d'Azur itself, the CENTRE EXPO CONGRÈS in
Mandelieu is made from glass and concrete, combining modernity with tradition thanks to
its landscaped garden. The building was designed with High Quality Environmental (HQE)
standards in mind.
2014 – The Centre Expo Congrès auditorium is fitted with new stands.
Following a 15-million euro investment for extending and restoring the building, the Convention
and Tourism Bureau and the local authorities are continuing to invest in upgrading the initial
building. Full replacement of the 1,000 auditorium seats is said to have cost €700,000.
This major change will improve users' physical comfort and views. Alongside this, works
carried out within the framework of Agenda 21 objectives have been launched on several
fronts: air-conditioning in the boxes, emergency exit doors changed for better sound and heat
insulation in the auditorium.
In 2014, the CEC was granted the Iso 14001.
Monaco
The GRIMALDI FORUM MONACO is first and foremost a unique place in the heart of an
exceptional destination. This smart, high-tech, luminous convention centre can be adapted to
suit a variety of events, adding an extra dimension to all projects.
Located by the Mediterranean Sea, the Grimaldi Forum offers 35,000 m² of space, fluid lines
and creativity. Its recognised expertise as well as its experience in events has allowed it to
impose itself as a beacon in the field of international business tourism.
Boasting 10,000 m² of exhibition space, 3 auditoriums, 22 meeting rooms and 2 catering areas,
the Grimaldi Forum Monaco is a hotspot for all professional events: seminars, congresses,
conventions, trade shows, exhibitions, product launches or gala dinners and large-scale shows
can all be held here simultaneously, in tailor-made spaces.

Nice
2014 – 2015: NICE ACROPOLIS CELEBRATES ITS 30-YEAR ANNIVERSARY!
Located in the heart of Nice, a stone's throw from the Old Town, the Acropolis is celebrating
30 years of modernity and functionality. The latest redevelopments at the Palais des Congrès
affected the Agora, the Muses and the large Apollon auditorium, with the project being based
on existing architecture.
The Agora has been fully reworked to enhance its monumental cement pillars that bear the
weight of the upper levels and add structure to the space. The large Muses room has been
treated to a monochromatic anthracite grey makeover.
All technical components have been integrated into the false ceiling between layers of tensioned
fabric. The large Apollon auditorium boasts a new wooden outer layer, reminiscent of a musical
instrument. This immense wooden shell combines with the Klein blue of the armchairs to create
a rich, warm atmosphere.
In addition, it has been awarded the Iso 14001 standard.
Key figures:
Acropolis-Congrès and Acropolis-Expositions measuring 38,000 m²
5,500 potential gross m² including the Esplanade, adjustable/modular according to each event,
5 auditoriums to seat between 250 and 2,500,
Over 50 meeting rooms,
Fully modular infrastructure.
A total of 74,000 m².
Nice's large-scale projects
THE ÉCO-VALLÉE: An "operation of national interest", the Éco-Vallée is spread across
10,000 m² to the west of Nice. The Grand Arénas international business district has planned
350,000 m² of office space, 80,000 m² exhibition grounds as well as 1,350 accommodation and
business units, all located close to France's 2nd biggest airport, the Multi-modal Hub and the new
tram line.
NICE MÉRIDIA, Nice's upcoming science and technology park, is set to encompass 100,000 m²
of office space, laboratories and research centres and 2,100 accommodation units, and is turned
towards the green growth and sustainable development sectors.
The foundations were laid down in October 2014.
The Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis start-up incubator (CEEI) supports young, innovative
companies. Buildings such as "The Crown" are taking shape as we speak, with more works
planned over the next two years. Large companies such as IBM and EDF have already decided
to make the move. The urban science and technology park will be served by the new tramline.
In 2018, the Marché d’Intérêt National will relocate to the Éco-Vallée's La Baronne, on a 45,000-m²
site. Its development is key to maintaining and sustainably developing agricultural activity in
Nice and the Alpes-Maritimes.
Tram: the West-East line will be completed in 2017. Work started on the West-East tramline
in October 2013, and is set to be completed in 2017. This will provide access to the airport in
under 26 minutes thanks to partial underground construction, and will also serve the Éco-vallée.
The tramline is also an alternative to personal cars and will reduce the number of vehicles on the
Promenade des Anglais by 20,000 per day, thus contributing to improving quality of life in the
city.

New event venues
on the Côte d’Azur
The Côte d’Azur is a regular favourite with event organisers. This means that high
performance facilities are often refurbished to meet clients' requirements.
A handful of exceptional locations have opened their doors and gardens recently. From
villas and boats to gardens steeped in history with exceptional views and astonishing
architecture, the imaginations of event organisers are seemingly boundless, and are once
again put to good use in meeting the needs of their most demanding clients.
Cannes
Among the newcomers on the scene, Cannes' latest offerings are a breath of fresh air.
There was a real need to diversify facilities in Cannes, which are often very urban and
glamorous, and are now moving towards preserved areas, as exemplified by the new nautical
facilities or the brand-new Camp des Trappeurs.
ILE SAINT-HONORAT
A new boat at the Saint Honorat Monastery: the Saint Maxime.
Thanks to its multi-purpose spaces, its layout and cutting-edge facilities, this is the perfect
venue for high-end events.

THE CHÂTEAU DITER is a magnificent Renaissance-inspired estate.
The property emerges from within a fully preserved landscape, at the top of a green rolling
hill amidst a natural amphitheatre bordered by trees and terraced gardens. Thanks to its
spectacular views over an olive tree grove, orchard and grounds, the Château enjoys an
exceptional and utterly exotic atmosphere reminiscent of the Tuscan hills.
The Château is easily accessible from the towns and ports of the Côte d’Azur thanks to its
heliport, yet the historical and spiritual influence of the manor has been perfectly preserved.
A wander through its flowered, citrus-infused gardens allows visitors to soak up its timeless
beauty and Italian charm.
In 2013, the gardens of the Château Diter were awarded a special panel prize by the prestigious
EBTS international organisation.
L’INSTANT BASTIDE
This new farmhouse is perfect for seminars, with a capacity of around one hundred guests.
THE CUBE
Overlooking the valley in the midst of countryside linked to Grasse's perfumery heritage, the
Cube is a dense complex of different reception areas and activities. Contemporary in feel and
elegant in design, the Cube offers fantastic reception areas.
Mougins
CANNES CAMP TRAPPEUR
MOUGINS is an interesting site thanks to its monumental
contemporary architecture, its 5-hectare grounds in the La Valmasque forest, midway
between the Sophia-Antipolis Science and Technology Park and the remarkable
biodiversity of the Etang de Fontmerle.
This new eco-themed leisure park invites explorers into the heart of dense forestland just 15
minutes away from the Croisette. The "Camp Trappeur" offers trails midway between sky and
ground, fully accessible with no technical gear needed.
Monaco
Grasse
Grasse offers a range of remarkable new locations.
THE VILLA SAINT-GEORGES Georges in the Grasse highlands is a majestic 19th
century residence built for a famous Grasse perfumer. The estate's 3-hectare grounds are also
available for use.
The Château encompasses various quirky indoor reception areas: sitting rooms, a library,
7 furnished rooms, a kitchen with a luminous glass section in which to host cookery classes
provided by a professional chef. An incredible indoor pool complete with a well-being area.
ECO’PARC
YACHT CLUB DE MONACO
The Principality of Monaco is now equipped with a development and promotional tool to
reinforce its position as the world's yachting capital.
Authorities selected Lord Norman Foster, a famous British architect known for his love of
technology and eco-friendly choices, for the project.
The building was brought to life in cooperation with Monaco-based architect Alexandre Giraldi
and was supervised by the Department of Public Works.
NEW EVENT VENUES ON THE CÔTE D’AZUR 10 11
Designed to be both aesthetically pleasing and at the cutting edge of technology, it was built in
compliance with HQE High Quality Environmental standards.
Alongside the Société Nautique and the Section Sportive (Youth & Adults) of the Yacht Club
de Monaco, this nautical hub includes an atrium in the YCM's Club House, the heart of the
building both in terms of its strategic position and its architectural originality. A monumental
spiral staircase gives onto a collection of new spaces such as an exhibition room, a VIP lounge, a
swimming pool and terrace, a library, a gym and five spacious 'cabins' to host short-term guests.

THE ODYSSEY AT THE METROPOLE MONTE-CARLO
A new swimming-pool complex with a capacity of 70 for private dinners or 120 for cocktail parties.
This large-scale architectural project created by Karl Lagerfeld was founded in June 2013.
The Odyssey space (including a pool house, a terrace, gardens and a restaurant) is a veritable
masterpiece designed especially for the hotel.
The hotel's clients will enjoy a wonderful new decorative area, as well as an innovative
gastronomy space by Joël Robuchon, who currently heads up both of the establishment's
restaurants - the Restaurant Joël Robuchon Monte-Carlo (2 Michelin stars) and Yoshi, his only
Japanese restaurant, which has also been granted accolades by the famous guide.
By day, the Odyssey is a haven of peace and tranquillity reserved for the hotel residents and
'Odyssey' members of the Métropole ESPA Monte-Carlo.
From 24 June 2014, the Odyssey has been flinging its doors open to the wider public by night,
transforming into an authentic Mediterranean restaurant - Joël Robuchon's third restaurant at
the Métropole Monte-Carlo hotel.
The lounge area invites visitors to relax, party and sample "chic finger food" by Joël Robuchon,
in an original musical atmosphere designed by Béatrice Ardisson, with a resident DJ appearing

THE NATIONAL SPORT MUSEUM
On 27 June, the National Sport Museum opened in Nice in the heart of the Allianz Riviera
stadium. Over 45,000 objects and 400,000 documents (equipment, strips, trophies, mascots,
posters, paintings, films, photos, archives, etc.) combine to create one of the world's biggest
collections, showcased in a setting designed by Jean-Michel Wilmotte.
Thanks to immersive museography, the National Sport Museum will help visitors experience
the past through the eyes of champions and relive the emotions and sensations that have
marked our collective memory.
Awarded the Museum of France label, the National Sport Museum is the only facility dedicated
to the subject. Thanks to its exceptional collection and with the support of leading specialists,
the museum will uncover the secrets of sport in a cultural and scientific light, exploring its
social, economic, technical and artistic roles...
Challenge lies at the heart of all sporting accomplishments, and this concept was therefore
chosen as the National Sport Museum's overarching theme in displaying the collections.

THE ALPES-MARITIMES,
NATURAL SPACES
ONE
OF
EUROPE'S
LARGEST
Thanks to its location, tucked between the sea and the Alps, our département enjoys
biodiversity that is unique in Europe. The region is home to over 12,000 different species of
flora and fauna. Our network of protected spaces, reserves and centres for the protection of
large animals means that most of Europe's biggest mammals can be seen at the Parc aux
Loups Alpha and the Scénoparc® in Le Boréon, the Monts d'Azur biological reserve and
bison in Thorenc, or the Pelagos marine sanctuary.
THORENC – THE MONTS D’AZUR BIOLOGICAL RESERVE
The Monts d’Azur Biological Reserve is located 45 minutes away from the Capital of Fragrance:
Grasse. This 700-hectare natural sanctuary allows visitors to freely explore a landscape
overflowing with protected wildlife: animals here are left to roam wild, and visitors find their
way around by tracking bison, Przewalski's horses, deer, etc.
The story of the Domaine du Haut-Thorenc is as old as time itself. Remains of the inner
fortified sections and vaulted cellars indicate that construction began on the manor in around
1550. The manor was then completely overhauled during the 17th and 18th centuries, and has
retained all of the charm of a Provençal farmhouse with its circular north-facing towers.
Whether visitors choose the Ecolodge, the bio-climatic cottage or the 'Petite école',
accommodation options here vary from season to season, but all have been designed with
one key principle in mind: eco-tourism.
A variety of themes are on offer: discovery, adventure, 'the stag's bellow', 'scientific stays', etc.
Activities are custom-made.

SAINT-MARTIN-VÉSUBIE – THE PARC AUX LOUPS ALPHA
Stretching over 12 hectares at 1,500 metres of altitude, this is an open-air observatory where
visitors can watch wolves in their natural habitat (19 wolves - 3 packs), assist a trainer in his or
her activities or learn more about the history of wolves through educational set pieces.
A DESTINATION FOR INCENTIVES 14 15
In the mood for... Astronomy
In the mood for... Silver screen glamour
The Côte d’Azur is the perfect place to star gaze thanks to a host of astonishing sites that are
surprisingly easy to access for event organisers.
In CANNES, the Palais des Festivals is the most obvious and highly sought-after choice for
holding film-themed events, starring red carpets, backstage areas, screenings, meeting rooms,
etc.
Yet many other sites in Cannes are also linked to the world of cinema: the Palm Beach where
Any Number Can Win was filmed, the hotels on the Croisette, the Lérins islands, with the
Croisette as a stunning backdrop...
In addition, the Cannes tourism office is offering a new "Cinema" tour.
Embark on a trip in the footsteps of the Côte d’Azur's astronomers and the biggest names
in turn-of-the-century architecture (Cassini, Eiffel, Garnier) and discover our département's
leading space industry.
The Côte d’Azur was one of Europe's very first astronomical observation sites and home to
some exceptional equipment. Today, it remains a key centre of research.
THALÈS ALENIA SPACE is dedicated to space engineering. Europe's biggest satellite and
probe testing and manufacturing centre is located by the sea between Cannes and Mandelieu.
THE OBSERVATOIRE DE NICE, was founded in 1881 by Raphaël Bischoffsheim, and boasts an
exceptional heritage in many natural, architectural, scientific and technical fields.
Rising up to 374 metres over Nice, the Mont Gros is one of the Côte d’Azur's most
spectacular sites, with views stretching from Corsica to the Gulf of Saint Tropez. The grounds
include almost forty hectares of Mediterranean woodland, and are part of the Gros – Eze –
Tête de chien natural area that is of great environmental and ecological interest. As the last
continuous zone of vegetation characteristic of the Alpes-Maritimes coastal ecosystems, it is
of great naturalist value and is spectacularly beautiful.
Designed by Charles Garnier, the "cité de l’astronomie" includes around fifteen buildings. This is
one of the most significant architectural complexes to emerge from 19th century science.
The dome on the equatorial refracting telescope was designed by Gustave Eiffel. To this day, it
remains Europe's largest mobile dome.
All buildings have been classified as listed historic monuments.
THE ASTRORAMA in Eze is an events venue, a place to enjoy planetarium sessions, exhibitions
and observations and is home to the year-round "Star Shows".
In NICE, the Studios Riviera (formerly the Studios de la Victorine).
A space dedicated to the silver screen that has been put to use by some of the biggest names
in French and international film.
The Studios Riviera are available to hire for congresses, product launches, high-end soirées,
seminars, meetings, corporate conventions, and corporate shows. Boasting 7 hectares of
studios, backdrops and gardens, the Studios Riviera combine all the elements required for a
successful event.
Here, the Promenade des Anglais serves as a natural backdrop, as well as the Négresco and
the Palais de la Méditerranée, the narrow streets of Old Nice, the castle hill and the historic
districts, all of which have set the tone for a number of films.
Another idea is to play at the Great Gatsby for the day in Antibes, taking in the hotel Belles
Rives, the Cap d’Antibes and water-skiing...
In VILLEFRANCHE-SUR-MER, the Citadel was used in many a Bond film and old movies that left
their mark on the history of black and white cinema.
OUR PICK! OUT FOR THE DAY… IN A CLASSIC CAR – RIVIERA CLASSIC TOUR
The Riviera Classic Tour is an extraordinary group activity that takes visitors down the back
roads of the French Riviera and along the coast, showcasing one of the world's most beautiful
locations from behind the wheel of a 1950s, 1960s or 1970s classic car.
A full "package" ready to be integrated into incentive programmes.
Visitors can now put together packages that include renting a fleet of classic cabriolets, a
"road book" including the most beautiful routes on the French Riviera, multilingual support and
guides, a quiz or treasure hunt complete with vintage prizes, a gourmet lunch or dinner, cultural
and sight-seeing breaks - all the right ingredients for an unforgettable day out!
In the mood for… Flowers and fragrance In the mood for… DIY and Creativity
Grasse and the Grasse region are synonymous with perfume. The region grows flowers for
some of the most prestigious names in the industry, including Chanel, Dior and Guerlain.
Vuitton has announced its decision to move to Grasse.
The region has also applied to register with Unesco for its: "EXPERTISE RELATED TO
PERFUMERY IN THE GRASSE REGION: KNOWLEDGE OF RAW MATERIALS, GROWING
PLANTS DESIGNED FOR USE IN FRAGRANCE, THE ART OF PRODUCING PERFUME" for
inclusion on the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage sites in France and in the world.
Drawing on this historic identity and its wealth of experience, Grasse is home to master
perfumers.
In addition to the classic perfume-making workshops offered by Fragonard, Galimard, and
Molinard, the Ecole des Nez de Grasse is now opening its doors to event organisers.
GRASSE INSTITUTE OF PERFUMERY
Featuring over sixty companies that produce raw materials, compounds for fragrance and food
flavourings, employing close to three thousand employees, the companies generate over 50% of
French revenue and almost 6% of global revenue.
With thirty years’ experience of training in the fragrance and flavouring industry, ASFO-GRASSE
followed the sound advice of a panel of experts and set up the Grasse Institute of Perfumery in
February 2002.
The GIP premises are located 5 minutes away from the historic town centre in a typical early
20th century Provençal house. The atmosphere here is both warm and professional. The institute
includes a large training room, a practical work room (perfume organs), and a collection of over
800 natural and synthetic raw materials.
All of the teachers are professionals (perfumers and fragrance technicians) from prestigious
companies (Givaudan, IFF, Quest, Takasago, etc.).
As well as training up-and-coming perfumers, the GIP also offers professional seminars, summer
seminars and introductory perfumery courses designed for fragrance fans.

Charter for Business Tourism in Nice
Only Cannes
Nice enjoys international attractiveness and high spontaneous awareness abroad, particularly in the
field of business tourism: aspects that are enhanced by its quality infrastructure.
Yet key stakeholders in this extremely competitive arena wanted to join forces to reassert their
shared goals and to make their objectives official by way of a charter.
Cannes is a leading international destination offering the very best to visitors and local
clients - which is why it operates based on a quality approach. The City of Cannes draws on this
approach via its Palais des Festivals et des Congrès to guarantee high service levels from its
various tourism professionals in order to continuously satisfy the needs of the destination's
clients.
The objectives of this charter are:
l to make it easier to hold conventions in Nice at all stages of the process, from putting
together an application to the event itself;
l to ensure Nice's continued long-term attractiveness;
l to provide all congress and event organisers and convention participants with an exclusive
hosting experience;
l to establish an official MICE hosting policy;
l to capitalise on Nice's experience in the sector, garnered over more than 30 years.
Signatory parties of the charter are:
the city of Nice,
l the Nice Côte d’Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry,
l the Nice Côte d’Azur Airport,
l the Nice Tourism and Convention Bureau and its Convention Office,
l the Palais des Congrès et des Expositions Acropolis,
l the Hospitality Union,
l the hotels,
l the Travel Agent Union (SNAV),
l DMCs and PCOs,
l the Taxi Union, representing the entire profession.
www.meet-in-nice.com
The objectives set by the City and signatory professionals are:
l To boost Cannes' image on a European and international scale in terms of both business
tourism and leisure.
l To renew client confidence via a reliable, quality selection of services offered by professional
partners. This charter is optional and freely accessible to member establishments who undertake to comply with requirements in terms of quality of service and pricing on one hand, and a
code of conduct on the other. Compliance with these commitments will be monitored by the
Cannes Tourism Board, comprised of representatives of the City, the Palais des Festivals et des
Congrès and relevant trade unions.
l
This charter is based on the following principles that make up the signatories' three key
values:
l Trust: guarantee continuous high-quality services and reasonable prices to provide clients
with the very best value for money.
l Exclusivity: provide a personalised welcome in which the client is respected, and adapt the
offer via exclusive services.
l Pleasure: reinforce the pleasure of hosting and looking after visitors in Cannes.
l Commit to providing the client with the very best experience via the service on offer,
ensuring their stay in Cannes is as pleasant as possible.

Air France & KLM Global Meetings
The Destination's main entry point is undoubtedly the Nice Côte d’Azur airport.
CEO Dominique Thillaud and his teams have put together a number of initiatives designed to
benefit convention participants:
Air France is the Nice-Côte d’Azur airport's leading operator, with over 200 weekly direct flights
to 7 Air France destinations and multiple connections via the Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Lyon
St-Exupéry hubs as well as Amsterdam-Schiphol with partner KLM.
A special convention offer established in partnership with the main convention organisers
and tourism offices in Nice, Cannes and Monaco aimed at hosting new conventions. Beneficiary
conventions will be able to give their participants the perfect welcome as soon as they touch

These participants also enjoy access to a number of individual advantages, such as the "Nice
Access" queue-jumper, allowing VIPs to skip ahead to their boarding gates, as well as 10% off
in all of the airport's stores.
Since 1 April 2013, HOP!, a new airline born of a merger between Régional, Britair and Airlinair,
has been operating up to 42 weekly direct flights to 4 destinations.
l
A partnership with REED-MIDEM has allowed a new enterprise to go ahead, designed to
provide convention participants with the very best experience and thus contributing to the
region's influence and presence as well as its attractiveness as a destination.
With this partnership agreement, REED MIDEM is granted the same advantages given to new
conventions.
l
Client airport support from start to end (travel planning, departures and arrivals, etc.) is
important to business leaders and directors. The airport has been rated by its clients as the
best French airport in terms of service (SKYTRAX 2014 ranking).
