Chief Engineer Montogomery Scott served
aboard the original Enterprise, that is, the Enterprise NCC-1701; no bloody A, B, C, or D.
Scotty, as he was known, was a good-natured
Scotsman with a knack for coming up with creative solutions to mechanical problems that
would save the ship from destruction just in
the nick of time. Off duty Scotty was an avid
drinker, once putting back bottle after bottle of
scotch in the process of drinking an alien from
the Andromeda galaxy under the table.

Chief Engineer Geordi La Forge held the
rank of lieutenant commander for the better
part of his tenure aboard the Enterprise-D. A
gifted engineer with a taste for technobabble,
Geordi was born blind but can see light beyond
the visible spectrum with the aid of his signature ocular prosthesis, known as the VISOR.
Geordi is most at ease in the company of male
friends, while, on the other hand, he can be
painfully awkward in the presence of women.
Notable Feats of Engineering: The fate of the Enterprise-D and its crew often rested on Geordi’s shoulders. When an Iconian computer virus infected the
ship, Geordi averted a warp core breach by performing
a complete reboot of the central computer core. He
averted another warp core breach, perpretrated by
the Romulans, by appearing out of thin air at his own
memorial service and ordering the warp engines to be
taken offline. He was also instrumental in setting up a
tachyon detection grid, backfiring a soliton wave, souring Junior’s milk, surfing distortion waves in the Hekaras Corridor, preventing a nuclear winter on Penthara IV, and subverting a particle scattering field to beam
up Captain Picard at a critical moment. And although
not exactly a feat of engineering, it bares mentioning
that he commanded a skeleton crew to vicotory in a
hard fought battle against a cloaked Minosian probe.
