2015 Colonials Territorial Rendezvous Packet
COLONIALS TERRITORIAL RENDEZVOUS “AD DARE SERVIRE” 1 PETER 4:10 NY District Ranger Camp Greene, NY October 8-11, 2015 Dear FCF Brothers of the Colonials Territory, As the 2015 Colonials Territorial Rendezvous approaches, the Territorial FCF Staff invites you to be a part of this great event. Rendezvous will be held at the New York District Rangers Camp in Greene, NY. We will continue with the tradition started at the 2013 Territorial Rendezvous by having Chapter Chairmen as our guest speakers. This year, Steve Monez (Adirondack), Ellwood Cutler (John Fenwick), Greg Scott (George Washington) and Rev. Tim Haynes (King’s Pine) will present us with challenging words from God. We are anticipating this to be the greatest Rendezvous to date as we gather this fall to rekindle friendships, compete in exciting events that will test our skills, show young bucks what being a Christian man is about, and hear from God through four very special men. Plan to join us this October, and bring your young bucks with you. See you at Rendezvous! Brian “Patches” Miller Colonials Territorial Representative Guest Speakers Steve “Trail Runna” Monez New York District Director Steve gave his life to the lord in June of 1974 and began working in Royal Rangers in September of 1975. He had served his local outposts as a Lt. Commander, Outpost Commander and Senior Commander. In 1985, Steve moved to the Long Island Section and began working with the Sectional Staff there as Area Commander and Sectional Commander. He has served the New York District as Division Commander, Training Coordinator, Deputy District Commander and is currently District Director. Steve is chartered with outpost 99 in Valley Stream, NY where he currently serves as an Assistant Group Leader. He is a wilderness member of the FCF and has taken the name “Trail Runna”. Ellwood “Trapper” Cutler New Jersey District Director Ellwood started in Royal Rangers back in 1980 in the Georgia District. A short time later he moved to NJ (where he’s originally from) and he mentioned to a person he did not know that he had been introduced to Royal Rangers but really did not know a lot about it. Little did he know he was talking to the District Commander. He saw to it that Ellwood got the training he needed and before long he was wearing many hats. In 1984 Ellwood joined FCF but it was many years before he really got plugged in. After being heavily involved at the outpost, section, and district levels Ellwood suffered a heart attack in 2000. He thought his involvement was coming to an end but God had another plan. He became FCF Scribe and took on other support functions at the district level. He just wanted to help where he could. Unexpectedly he was asked to take on responsibility for the district in 2008. The pace has been fast ever since. “I learned that while you can have health setbacks you need to let God guide your path through life.” Rev. Tim “Circuit Rider” Haynes Northern New England District Director Pastor Tim was appointed as the Northern New England Royal Rangers District Director after many years of involvement in the ministry. He remembers some men in his home church who took up the challenge to start a Rangers ministry, and met with the boys of the church, took them camping and hiking, and taught them the Motto and Pledge. Although it wasn’t a model outpost, the impact of those men investing in the lives of boys inspired him to want to do the same when he was called to be a pastor. Pastor Tim has not only supported the Royal Rangers ministry, he has been personally involved with local outpost and district events. He has served as Chaplain, Missions Coordinator, and Certified Instructor, and has led worship and spoken at numerous district events. He has also helped plan and lead most of the Ranger activities and trips in his local outpost. Pastor Tim and his wife, Sue, who is also a supporter and volunteer for Ranger events, have four sons, and a daughter. Three of their sons are now Rangers Leaders, and their grandsons are growing up in the ministry. He has been Senior Pastor at Calvary Pentecostal Church, in Madison, Maine since 1991. The Haynes family has also been involved with MAPS Construction projects, and has helped build three churches and a Bible School in Latin America. Greg “North Arrow” Scott Penn-Del District Director Commander Greg, from Camden, DE, assumed the office of Penn Del District Royal Rangers Director on January 1, 2006 where he serves today. Greg, well trained and well traveled for Royal Rangers throughout his Royal Rangers career of 33 years, has assumed many other responsibilities such as Senior Commander of his outpost, Delmarva Sectional Commander, East Division Commander, Junior Training Camps and National Training Camps staff, and currently serves on the Honey Grove Royal Rangers Camp Council Board.
