One of the most well-travelled concert pianists in the world, this is his 15th tour of New Zealand featuring works by Haydn, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Liszt, and others. DATE EVENT VENUE DETAILS Until 7 Mar The Hollings Show Taupō Museum Russell has worked in many mediums but has a great love for the special qualities that oil paint offers. The exhibition features central North Island landscapes including the Taupō and Rotorua areas. 13 Feb IHC Extend Amazing Race Cenotaph and Tongariro South Domain All ages – teams of 2-5 persons ($10 per team). This is on foot, around town and will finish with a picnic in the park and prizegiving at the Tongariro South Domain. The Pumice Valley Whoopie (Ukulele) Band will be playing from 12.30pm to 2pm. Registrations from 9.15am at the Cenotaph, the race begins at 10am. 20 Feb 21st Taupō Great Lake Relay 18 Feb Quiz Night Taupō Library This popular event is brought to you by the Friends of Taupō Public Library. Kick off at 1.30pm. 6 Feb-14 Mar Lyrical Waxing Taupō Museum These exquisite batik wall hangings created by Ann Hay of Taumaranui feature birds, animals and farming scenes.
