19 Seating Adjustment Hang Tag
® #19 Introducing a design that is the sum expression of 18 integral parts, plus one equally integral human being. PURPOSEFUL DESIGN #19’s design is based on the most advanced ergonomic and technical information available. Using a combination of passive adjustments, thermal regulation, and innovative materials, #19 delivers unsurpassed comfort, performance, and sitting health. Tria #19’s seat is made of channeled foam, Technogel®, and microporous upholstery. This is Tria®. It’s designed to breathe and dissipate heat, ensuring you’re not too hot or cold as you work. Technogel eliminates pressure peaks and conforms more effectively to your body than traditional padding. You gain even, long-term comfort. TM Tria Avatar Avatar The perfectly balanced, passive recline motion, Avatar®, requires no tension adjustment. As you recline, the back of the seat gently rises to support your pelvis and keep your spine aligned properly. The same motion also opens your body angle at a 4:1 back-to-seat ratio (more than traditional chairs) for optimal circulation. In addition, Avatar maintains your line of sight as you recline, while the armrests remain stationary for continuous support. PURPOSEFUL DESIGN VenTech VenTech™, the thermal weave used in the chair back, is designed to manage heat accumulation and loss. This helps your body maintain a steady temperature, so you’re not too hot or cool while working. Plexus The Plexus™ lumbar system increases fabric tension for contoured lower back support. A sliding component tightens the fabric and can be easily adjusted while you’re seated, providing continuous, uninterrupted lumbar support. TM VenTech Plexus CONTROLS:OVERVIEW ARMRESTS LUMBAR SUPPORT Press the button on the underside of the arms to move armrests vertically. Pivot armrests inward or outward to one of many positions. Reach back with both hands and slide the mechanism up or down to the desired height. SEAT HEIGHT SEAT DEPTH Pull up on the lever to adjust the seat to the desired height. Turn the knob clockwise to release, then slide the seat forward or backward. Turn the knob counterclockwise to tighten. TILT LIMITING Choose from three recline positions by pulling the lever forward or backward. CONTROLS:HOW TO Lumbar Support Lumbar support can be adjusted using Plexus, the sliding mechanism that increases the back’s fabric tension. While seated, reach back with both hands and slide the mechanism up or down to the desired height. Total support range is 3.25". Tilt Limiting The tilt limiting lever, located on the left, has three settings that correspond to three recline positions: upright work posture (11º back angle), relaxed work posture (20º back angle), and full recline (30º back angle). Pull the lever forward or backward to achieve the most comfortable recline position. Tilt limiting lever Seat Depth The seat can be positioned front-to-back to accommodate different thigh lengths. The seat depth knob is located directly below the front of the seat. While seated, turn the knob clockwise until you reach a stop, then slide the seat forward or backward. When the desired position is achieved, turn the knob counterclockwise to lock. A clicking sound will be heard throughout the entire range of rotation, however the seat is not properly locked until a series of deep, loud clicks are heard. Total seat depth range is 1.5". Seat Height The seat height adjusts from 17"-22" (standard cylinder) or 15"-20" (two-stage cylinder). From a seated position, pull up on the right-hand lever and adjust the seat to the desired height. Armrests Armrests can be positioned vertically from 7"-11" and pivoted 30° inward to 15° outward. The vertical adjustment button is located on the underside of the armrests. While seated, press the buttons while moving the armrests to the desired height. To angle the armrests in or out, simply rotate them to the most comfortable position. CARE AND CLEANING Very little is required to keep your #19 working properly long-term. Raising and lowering the pneumatic height adjustment cylinder (see seat height adjustment) at least two or three times per year is beneficial to your chair’s performance. Tria Solid Seating Upholstery Spot cleaning may leave rings. For best results, clean the entire seat using water-based cleaning agents, foam, or pure, water-free solvents (Energine, Carbona, Renuzit, or other similar products). Vacuuming or light brushing is recommended to prevent dust and soil buildup. VenTech Thermal Weave To maintain the back’s appearance, frequent vacuuming or light brushing to remove dust and soil is recommended. Avoid using a rotary brush, as this will damage the nap. Spot clean with an upholstery shampoo if necessary. Solvents containing petroleum distillates should never be used. Frame and Base Wipe clean with warm water and mild soap. Extendable Life #19’s frame and base are made from 100% recycled aluminum. 88% of the materials that go into #19 are recyclable. As new features are developed, the chair can be upgraded, which means #19 will fulfill its design function as long as your workplace needs it. #19 Lifetime Warranty Allsteel warrants #19 to be free from defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns it.
