Measurement Technique to verify electrical safety Success is contagious – worldwide. Unique technologies are being incorporated in vehicles to an unprecedented extent. The dynamic interplay of all pulses and signals are crucial to their success and constant development. After all, the pace of technological change is faster than ever before. Speed counts from the very start, and the right results win the race. That‘s why Manfred Stohl/OMV World Rallye Team relies on AVL‘s fast and technically sophisticated tools. Our major task is to ensure perfect motion for the entire lifetime of the vehicle. Our weakness for technologies that readily meet all requirements is our strength in these efforts. Moving Performances The Corporate Philosophy of AVL. Our journey of systematic research into the technical world of motor vehicles began more than half a century ago with the establishment of AVL in Graz, Austria. Our core activity has remained unchanged ever since: to develop engines, testing and measuring equipment on a large scale. A holistic view of the automotive world is essential for the development of a vehicle to perfection and to ensuring its flawless operation in daily use. Guided by this principle, AVL DiTEST accepts the challenge of equipping workshops and test centers with high-tech diagnostic systems destined to set the standards of tomorrow. The result of these efforts is perfect performance based on individual service and revolutionary AVL technology. Expertise gained in our over fifty-year love affair with technology has allowed us to achieve unsurpassed precision. With our aspiration to perfection and to a pole position world-wide, it is no wonder that AVL in Graz has become a central hub for all renowned auto-mobile manufacturers. Subject to changes without notice Future solutions for today AVL DiTEST HV Safety 1000 MEASUREMENTS IN HYBRID AND ELECTRIC VEHICLES – 3 in 1 High-Voltage Measurement Technology 3in1 automotive measurement technology Maximum benefit, low investment. GUARANTEED SAFETY IN Workshops AND VEHICLE PRODUCTION -- Digital voltmeter up to 750V -- HV insulation resistance measurement with up to 1,000V test voltage -- HV insulation resistance measurement under voltage according to SAE J1766 - - For use in workshops, production and vehicle development. Safe and correct measurements Maximum protection for your staff and the vehicle. - - Automatic testing of device and test cables before each measurement - - Harmless test current max 1mA - - Rapid automatic interruption of test voltage in case of a fault or if touched - - Automated software-assisted pre-selection of test parameters - - Software-assisted measurement with warnings and detailed instructions in every test sequence With the arrival of electric mobility due to E cars and hybrid technology the subject of electric safety becomes more and more important. What is already established in installation technology will catch on more and more in electric vehicles. Due to the high vehicle voltages of 500Volt and more, touch hazard and fatal electric shocks may occur. AVL DiTEST HV Safety 1000 is a high-voltage measurement device specifically designed for automotive applications meeting the extreme requirements concerning: ■ Maximum safety of workshop staff, ■ Safety of vehicle and vehicle components, ■ Comprehensive protection against warranty claims and product liability. Customized measurement technology solutions Flexible system for simple integration in test and diagnostic platforms - - Investment protection due to future-proof PC based system - - Communication and voltage supply via standard USB interface - - Flexible interfaces for device control - - Adaptable interfaces for documentation of the test process and test results. Service and repair in workshops as well as development and production of modern hybrid and electric cars pose particularly high challenges to the high-voltage measurement technology. In order to protect the vehicle and the environment against damages strict compliance with safety regulations is absolutely necessary when dealing with high voltages and/or currents. Even for simple service and repair works, such as battery replacement or works on the electric vehicle system, the voltage free condition of the vehicle must be established, proven and documented over the entire duration of the works. After completion of the task, the high voltage must be re-applied without faults. - - Maintenance-free system - - Immediate measurement availability since no configuration is required - - Intuitive operation due to fully software-assisted test instructions - - Quick and easy to the test result and to extensive documentation - - Robust standard 1000V probes -- Integrated safety sensor of probes allows START/FREEZE of measurement directly at the probe tip - - Easy to operate even with HV protective clothing -- Supplied with calibration certificate according to DIN EN ISO 9002, recalibration possible at any time - - Worldwide certification, e.g. UL, FCC, CE -- Robust design, suitable for workshop use The AVL DiTEST HV Safety 1000 guarantees high level of safety due to integrated measurement of zero potential and insulation resistance. Electrical components and elements can be checked reliable for insulation damage and also localization of faulty components during diagnosis. The integrated digital voltmeter makes HV Safety 1000 a universal high voltage measurement device which is a must in all workshops dealing with electric mobility. AVL DITEST HV SAFETY 1000 Technical specifications: can be selected between 500Volt and 1,000Volt in increments of 50Volt Test current 1mA, active current limitation at 1.2mA Measurement functions --Integrated digital voltmeter up to 750Volt (measurement range 1,000Volt) Insulation resistance active via test generator (Ohm, Ohm/Volt) Insulation resistance according to SAE J 1766 (under operating voltage) Voltage measurement up to 750Volt Probes Safety probes and cables in black and red, 2m length each --Zero potential measurement Triggering the measurement via buttons at the probe tip Operating temperature range 0 to +40 °C Voltage supply via USB interface, 500mA Protection type Probes IP 54, housing IP44, CAT I / 750V, UL201 Interfaces USB 2.0 --Active insulation resistance measurement by means of integrated test voltage generator --Assisted diagnostics and measurement sequence through PC user guidance --Can be connected to every PC --Voltage supply via USB interface --Documentation of test sequences by means of measurement protocol Due to the integrated data base of hybrid and electric vehicles the vehiclespecific test parameters, such as measurement range and test voltage, are adjusted fully automatically after selection of the vehicle. Manual selection of the settings is also possible. Operating errors are almost impossible. Operation of HV Safety software by technical staff requires minimum training effort. The entire measurement is software-assisted. Every individual test sequence of the measurement includes a detailed description with detailed safety instructions and warnings. Everything in view due to workshop-oriented representation of test conditions and measurement results Test voltage INFORMATION: Fault-free measurements - due to automatic presetting Maximum safety for persons and vehicle due to menu-guided test instructions Quick to use and efficient to work with intuitive operation Quality in automotive use Low operating cost, easy handling and long service life MENU-GUIDED MEASUREMENTS AND DETAILED DOCUMENTATION Due to the clear and generous representation all important information can be seen even from a distance. The graphical user interface presents the current status of the measurement device, the current test sequence including a prompt for the next sequence and the current measurement results. All measurement results receive a colored and verbal evaluation. Quality assurance and accountability under control comprehensive recording and documentation The HV SAFETY Software records every individual test sequence including settings, test medium test and measurement results during the application. At the end of the measurement a detailed test report is prepared which can be printed out or saved for electronic processing.
