EVENT & PARKING GUIDE
11th Annual Pat’s Run | Sun Devil Stadium
PARKING
Limited free parking is available in the parking garages and lots
surrounding ASU. Due to race-day traffic congestion, participants
are strongly encouraged to carpool, walk, bike or ride the light rail
to arrive at the event site. Approaching the race venue from south of
Rio Salado Parkway is advised, to avoid delays. Be aware that Lot 59
on the north side of Rio Salado is no longer available for parking,
due to construction.
ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION
Think green and avoid race day traffic by riding the Valley METRO
Light Rail to Pat’s Run. The light rail has a stop conveniently located at
Veterans Way and College Avenue (approximately 1/2 mile from the race
start line) and various Park & Ride locations, including McClintock Dr/
Apache Blvd and 101 Fwy/Apache Blvd. Trains run every 15 minutes
starting at 5 a.m. Day passes cost $4.00 per person ($2.00 for youth &
seniors) and are available at all stations and online at www.valleymetro.org.
Many participants choose to ride bikes from home or park and pedal from
Tempe Marketplace as a pre-race warmup. You may secure your bike on
the bike racks available near the start line.

REUNION SQUARE – FIND FAMILY
AND FRIENDS
Make arrangements to reunite with family and
friends after the race in Reunion Square, located
south of the Finish Line Expo and Kids Corner,
west of Packard Drive. Plan to meet under the
letter of the alphabet that corresponds to your
last name, team name, company name, etc.
For the comfort and safety of all race
participants, please do not select the finish line
as a post-race meeting spot for your group.
IT IS THE RUN
Please take a moment to review the following
Final Instructions carefully as they contain
important details for all participants.
START LINE CORRALS AND WAVE START
In order to accommodate a record number of participants and provide an
enjoyable race experience for all, each runner/walker will be assigned
to a start line corral based on the expected finish time provided during
the registration process. Your start line corral number will be printed on
your race number. You are only permitted to enter your assigned corral
or any corral behind your assigned corral. If you wish to run/walk with
family and friends, all members of your group must start in the highest
numbered corral assigned to any particular member.
To alleviate congestion on the race course and at the finish line, each
start line corral will be released in a rolling wave starting at approximately
30-second intervals. Please be patient and remember that your timing tag
(activated as you cross the start line mats) will ensure that your official
race time is not affected by your corral assignment. Race participants will
be invited to enter their assigned corrals at 6:30 a.m.
CHRONOTRACK TIMING
When you pick up your race number, a state-of-the-art ChronoTrack
bib-tag (B-Tag) labeled with that race number will be attached (please
visit the Solutions table if the numbers do not match). This year’s B-Tag
should remain attached to the bib (do not remove as in years past –
you can simply walk away without having your tag collected) and
pinned to the front of the runner’s outfit. Please follow the instructions
provided in your registration packet. PLEASE NOTE: All participants
must wear the ChronoTrack timing B-Tag on your race shirt or
shorts for your time to be recorded. Race results will be posted at
www.patsrun.com live on April 25, 2014.
CHRONOTRACK TIMING TAG RULES
• DO NOT forget your tag on race day – NO TAG, NO TIME.
• DO NOT exchange your tag with any other participant.
• DO NOT remove your B-Tag from your race bib.
• You MUST cross the start line during the official start, before the
timing mats have been removed, to receive an official time.
• Personal timing chips will NOT work with the ChronoTrack timing system.
RACE NUMBER REQUIREMENTS
PAT’S RUN KIDS RUN (FOR CHILDREN 12 AND UNDER)
• Your race number must be visible and worn on the front and outside
of all clothing during the entire race.
Pat’s Run Kids Run is a 0.42 mile non-competitive run/walk for children
12 years and under. The Kids Run begins at 9:45 a.m., starts just south
of the 4.2 mile run/walk start line and finishes on the 42-yard line of
Frank Kush Field inside Sun Devil Stadium. For their safety, Kids Run
participants will enter age-specific start line corrals that will be released
in waves beginning with the oldest kids. Please note, Kids Run
participants may move backward in age-group corrals to accompany
younger siblings, but younger participants may not move up into older
age-group corrals. Registered Kids Run participants will receive a race
number, cotton T-shirt, goodie bag and post-race refreshments.
Race-day registration is available for Pat’s Run Kids Run; the entry fee
is $10 per child.
• Your race number is non-transferable and may only be worn by you.
• Do NOT alter your race number in any way.
• Securely fasten your race number to the front of your running/walking
outfit with safety pins.
1302
• When we say “Run With It”… What is “It” for you?
This may be a word like “passion” or “guts”… Or It
could be the name of a loved one, service member or
Tillman Scholar who inspires you. Write on your bib
that one thing that will push you forward for 4.2 miles.
• Upload a photo of you and your race bib to Twitter
or Instagram with #NeverStop and #PatsRun
tagging @PatTillmanFnd
RACE SHIRTS
All registrants will receive a commemorative
race shirt in the size requested during the
race registration process. Only on race day
may unworn race shirts be exchanged –
pending availability – at the race shirt tent
located in the Finish Line Expo.
KIDS CORNER
The Kids Corner is an interactive play zone for children ages 12 and
under. Kids can enjoy inflatables, an obstacle course, Pat’s Run tattoos
and crafts. Members of the ASU football team and Arizona’s most
popular sports team mascots will be on hand to meet the kids and sign
autographs. The Kids Corner opens at 6 a.m. Please note: children
should not be left unsupervised in the Kids Corner; no drop-off for
adult race participants allowed.
Things to note
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
For the safety of all participants, the following
are prohibited: dogs and other pets, bicycles,
in-line skates, skateboards and all motordriven vehicles. Participants who do not

and field. Thank you in advance for your
understanding and cooperation.
RUNNER REFRESHMENT ZONE / FINISH LINE
Both the 4.2 mile and 0.42 mile events finish on the 42-yard line of Frank Kush Field inside
Sun Devil Stadium. Upon crossing the finish line, participants are urged to quickly exit the field
and proceed to one of two Runner Refreshment Zones where they will receive fruit, snacks
and beverages provided by Sam’s Club and Powerade. Please help our Race Crew see to the
safety of several thousand finishers by keeping the finish line area clear of congestion. Note:
due to construction, there will be no exit from the South end of the stadium this year. See
Stadium Map on page 16.

You can visit the Finish Line Expo before and after the race where over 40 local and national
vendors will be on hand displaying, sampling and selling merchandise, food and drinks.
The Expo will open at 6 a.m. Be sure to enjoy post-race refreshments, vendor sampling,
giveaways and Kids Corner activities before you head home.

MEDICAL INFORMATION
The Medical Team is a dedicated group of
medical professionals available to assess your
race day needs and administer acute first aid
if necessary. Medical stations will be located
at the start, finish and every water station
along the course. For race day help, look for
the volunteers dressed in red shirts with a
white cross.
STROLLERS/BABY JOGGERS
In an effort to address safety concerns
regarding baby jogger strollers pushed by
runners on the crowded Pat’s Run course, a
start line corral has been created. Participants
with baby joggers who wish to run (and finish
in less than 40 minutes) will be allowed to
start in a corral marked “Running Strollers”
directly behind the last runner’s corral,
number 12, regardless of assigned corral.
Only individual runners with jogging strollers
may enter this corral; no family members or
running buddies. All walkers, slow joggers
with strollers, or baby joggers, regardless of
estimated finish time, will be required to start
in the final corral, number 28.
