From the Barbed Wire - Brown (M), cut: Place Mats: • (1) 3 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut strip into (10) 3 ½” squares. 3. Place another 3” Fabric D square on the right side of the 3” x 5 ½” Fabric C strip, right sides together (Fig. 4). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 4). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 5). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance to make (1) DCD unit. make 24 From the Stars - Ivory (N), cut: Place Mats: • (2) 3 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut strips into (22) 3 ½” squares. From the Signs - Brown (Backing), cut: Runner: • (1) 28” x 58” strip for the backing. Place Mats: • (8) 21” x 25” strips for the backings. F 2. Place (1) 3” Fabric D square on the left side of (1) 3” x 5 ½” Fabric C strip, right sides together (Fig. 2). Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the center block to make the runner top. 8. Sew the (4) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric E strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. Sewing Instructions Runner: 1. Use the 3” x WOF Fabric F strips to border the bank strip. Sew the strips to the top and bottom of the bank strip, then sew the strips to the two sides of the strip. Cut the strip into (8) equal lengths. Fold these strips in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. Sewing Instructions Silverware Pockets 28. Place (2) Fabric L pocket backs right sides together. Stitch around the pocket, leaving an opening for turning. 29. Turn pocket right side out and stitch the opening closed. 30. Repeat with (2) Fabric D pocket fronts. 31. Position front and back together. Top stitch together to complete (1) silverware pocket. 32. Repeat Steps 27-30 to make (8) silverware I N 25. Layer and quilt as desired. 27. Bind as desired.
