This year’s show is slightly different from previous years as we have fewer qualifying classes and ‘upped’ the fun factor with the aim to make it a friendlier show, accessible to more riders and different ages. As ever, we hope you have a wonderful time and a successful and safe event! Qualifiers We have decided, this year, to only have qualifying classes for RB Equestrian Chiltern and Thames Rider Championships 2016. Entrants can have as many goes as they like. £4 per round to be paid at the ring entrance. Commencing 12:30 Classes in this ring are designed to be fun. All entrants must be under 16 years of age apart from the fancy dress. Judges will be encouraging and supportive. All entrants will receive a rosette for classes in this ring. 11 Fancy Dress Peach Ribbons Open to all. Can be led. Can be ridden or in hand. All ridden competitors must have a safety hat and suitable footwear as part of their costume. 12 Novice Lead Rein Peach Ribbons Conformation will not be judged. Will be judged 50% on turnout and presentation and 50% on riding. Children will be asked to carry an object, mount and dismount as part of their individual show. 13 Young Handler Peach Ribbons Ponies manners and child’s handling ability will be judged. Help will be allowed in the ring but the children must handle the pony as much as they are able to. 14 Prettiest Mare Peach Ribbons Open to any horse or pony. To be shown in hand. Conformation will not be taken into account. 15 Handsomest Gelding Peach Ribbons Open to any horse or pony. To be shown in hand. No other change of tack or rider is permitted. Martingales may be worn. Body protectors are allowed. A fall of horse or rider will result in elimination on medical grounds. Class to be judged 60% jumping, 40% conformation and manners. To ensure the smooth running of this ring, we will be using two judges. Competitors should complete their jumping round and then move through to the conformation ring for the conformation and individual show judging. All competitors will then return to the ring for the whole class judging once all competitors have been judged. 17 True Beginners WH Sarah & Brian McCleery Fences approx. 50cm. Riders any age. Horses must have raced and be able to show a race record. Horses will be expected to do a freestyle show. Horses must be 15hh (153cm) and over. Open to geldings and mares only. 4 years and over. Blemishes are not considered. Horses must be registered with Weatherby’s General Stud book or an overseas equivalent. Classes 20 & 21 1st – 10th place. All other classes 1st to 6th Rules RB Equestrian Chiltern and Thames Rider Championships 2016 To be held at Herts County Showground on Sunday 11th September 2016. The Showing and Show Jumping take place at the same venue on the same day. Riders must obtain their membership number from CT Rider before entering a qualifier. They can do this by calling 01582 965760 or visiting www.chilternrider.co.uk/showmembers%202016.html Riders cannot qualify if they do not have a membership card in the ring with them at the time of judging. They must request that the judge sign their card before they leave the ring. More detailed rules are available upon request from C&T Rider. General Conditions of Entry 1. No liability shall fall on the Organisers, Landowners, Judges or Officials in respect of any loss, damage or injury howsoever caused and all competitors are deemed to be liable to indemnify the said persons in respect of any such loss, damage or injury. 2. Every effort will be made to keep to the schedules, but we reserve the right to alter the order and composition of classes or to cancel them. 3. Any competitor may be warned or disqualified for improper or excessive use of whips, spurs etc or other actions which the Judges or Officials consider warrants such penalty. 4. Correct riding attire must be worn at all times. ALL RIDERS, whether competing or not, must wear the correct headgear with a harness properly adjusted and fastened - skull caps must be worn with a silk. The following standard are acceptable - PAS 015: 1998 or 2011 with BSI Kitemark, , VG1 01.040: 2014-12 with BSI Kitemark, ASTM F1163: 2004a or 04a with SEI Mark, SNELL E2001, AS/NZS 3838: 2006 with SAI Global Mark. Riders are responsible for their own safety and failure to wear the correct headgear will result in elimination. 5. All horses being ridden on the showground must be 4 years or older. 6. Stallions must be handled or ridden by people who have attained their 14th birthday on the 1st January in the current year. 7. The ruling of the judges is final. All complaints must be put in writing and handed to the secretary with a deposit of £20 within 15 minutes of the incident, returnable if the objection is upheld. 8. Entries may be refused without reason being given. 9. A refund (less admin fee) will be issued for withdrawn entries on production of a medical/veterinary Certificate or at the Secretary’s discretion. 10. Change of horse and/or rider must be notified to the Secretary 15 minutes before the start of the class or the entry will become void. 11. ALL DOGS must be kept on leads (non-extending) at all times. 12. It is the responsibility of competitors to know the rules – our stewards and officials are there to help and advise. Please remember all our helpers are volunteers. 13. In the unlikely event of cancellation, entry fees will be refunded but the organisers reserve the right to make a deduction to help cover their unrecoverable costs. 24 SORC open show 26TH JUNE 2016 Original oil paintings.
