Linear actuators for applications with
high protection class
The encapsulated linear actuators of the SL 95, SL 80 and KL 95 series
are mainly distinguished by their compact and rugged design, the stroke
lengths and traversing speeds individually adapted to an application
and their powerful and low-noise operation.
The actuators are suitable for operation in humid environments and
high-safety applications because of their encapsulated design in
protection class 2.
HANNING linear actuators are absolutely maintenance free and their
reliability is well established. They offer the highest operating safety
possible.
3
SL 95 linear actuators
Powerful and quick
The range of HANNING encapsulated linear actuators is headed by
the SL 95. It enables pressure and tension up to 12,000 N and
traversing speeds up to 42 mm/s or 50 mm/s which almost remain
constant even at rated load.
The SL 95 linear actuators are ideal drives for a powerful and safe
adjustment of therapy tables and many more medical and industrial
applications. The reliable and rugged linear actuators can be adapted
to the requirements regarding traversing speed and accuracy of
position. Different stroke lengths are possible. They can be individually
controlled by either the patented HANNING pneumatic control or
electrically.
As option, the linear actuators are also available with a declutch
system. The power transmission can be interrupted in one direction
so that the traversing in is only caused by the weight which is
loaded on the drive.
The declutching is achieved by a special bearing which ensures the
power transmission between worm and motor shaft.
The linear actuators of these series are also available as low-voltage
three-phase AC system with frequency inverter (DC-FI system).
Please ask for our DC-FI broschure.

SL 80 linear actuators
Universal and compact
The new SL 80 is very powerful and covers up to 8,000 N. Many new
applications are possible. Its newly developed housing with
integrated endshield ensures a very compact design. The SL 80 is
now also suitable for smaller mounting spaces. The very rugged
motors enable almost a load-constant speed up to 15 mm/s.
As option, the SL 80 is also available with a declutch system. The
power transmission can be interrupted in one direction so that the
traversing in is only caused by the weight which is loaded on the drive.
The declutching is achieved by interrupting the power transmission
between screw nut and travel tube.
HANNING’s engineering department offers the development and
implementation of individual solutions. Together with the customer
we define the drive requirements regarding power, traversing speed
and accuracy of position and adapt the drive accordingly.
The linear actuators of these series are also available as low-voltage
three-phase AC system with frequency inverter (DC-FI system).
Please ask for our DC-FI broschure.

KL 95 linear actuators
Small and individual
The KL 95 is the smallest linear actuator of this series. Nevertheless
it is as rugged as all the other drives. It is suitable for applications up
to 4,000 N and traversing speeds of 18 mm/s.
Of course, the linear actuators can be adapted to your individual
application regarding power, traversing speed and accuracy
of position.
As option, the KL 95 is also available with a declutch system. The
power transmission can be interrupted in one direction so that the
traversing in is only caused by the weight which is loaded on the
drive.
The declutching is achieved by interrupting the power transmission
between screw nut and travel tube.
The linear actuators of these series are also available as low-voltage
three-phase AC system with frequency inverter (DC-FI system).

Accessories
To complete the drive system, HANNING offers an extensive range
of accessories including different control variants, hand and foot
switches.
A drive can either be controlled through a HANNING pneumatic hand
or foot switch or an electrical hand or foot switch in low-voltage
technology.
Furthermore it is possible to control a drive with an infra-red remote
control and the CTRL universal control unit. This system includes a
comfortable memory function which finds programmed positions
directly. The switch design and the control type can be selected as
desired.

Safety
Medical applications require a very high safety standard. HANNING
linear actuators are equipped with different active and passive safety
devices which ensure that they can be safely and perfectly integrated
into our customers’ applications.
In addition to the safety options directly integrated into the motor
as declutching functions, HANNING offers you a safety-lock-box.
Our safety devices ensure a very high safety standard for our
customers’ applications.
Our products are certified and approved by all common standards
and regulations to ensure trouble-free operation in medical
applications.
Active safety devices
Pneumatic stop-button
The pneumatic stop-button can be used as external limit switch
(at zero current).
Declutching system
As option, HANNING linear actuators are also available with
declutching, i.e. the power transmission can be interrupted in one
direction so that the traversing in, for instance, the ingoing
direction is only caused by the weight which is loaded on the drive.
The declutching is achieved by a special bearing which transmits the
power between worm and motor shaft or interrupts the power
transmission between screw nut and travel tube.

Safety
Passive safety devices
Safety-lock-box
The HANNING safety-lock-box meets all regulations of the BfArM
(German Institute for medical Products). It interrupts the power
supply of HANNING drives even before the motor so that improper
handling becomes impossible.
Pneumatic control
About 30 years ago HANNING patented this pneumatic control which
enables the control of linear actuators at zero current. The operator
does not have to touch any live components and its rugged design
ensures highest reliability.
Innovation
HANNING is presently developing an innovative drive system which
operates at variable speed and offers interesting performance
features.
The current consumption could be considerably reduced so that the
drive is absolutely suitable for constant operation even when being
used with batteries.
This low-voltage three-phase AC motor can be driven by a transformer
or a common lead-gel battery which makes it appropriate for mobile
applications.
HANNING’s brushless DC system is an alternative to a standard DC
drive and avoids all known disadvantages.
