Important Information - Must read prior to starting installation.
1) Before installing the CardAccess 3000 web interface, you must install
IIS (Internet Information Services). IIS is a Microsoft product. It is
included in Windows 7 Professional and Server 2008 R2 operating
systems. It is recommended to have an experienced IT associate turn
on and configure IIS.
NOTE: Internet Information Services (IIS) is a Microsoft web server.
The CardAccess 3000 web interface is a web application developed
by Continental Access. All web applications need a web server to run
on. The CardAccess 3000 web interface must be installed on the
computer with IIS installed on it.
2) The use of the CardAccess 3000 web interface requires a five user
CardAccess 3000 security key. Much like a CardAccess 3000
workstation, the web interface requires a license. The five user
security key must be on the CardAccess 3000 Server.
3) Internet Information Services in Windows 7and Server 2008 R2 are
version 7.5.
4) If you have problems installing and executing the CardAccess Web
Interface, refer to appendix C for troubleshooting tips.
5) This procedure was generated using the CardAccess 3000 V2.8.2. It
can also be used for the CardAccess 3000 V2.9.x.

Scope
This document contains information regarding the installation of the CA3000 web
interface. This document was generated utilizing the CardAccess 3000 V2.8.x. As per
the previous notes, Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) must be installed on the
computer prior to installing the CA3000 web interface. Installing the CA3000 web
interface from the V2.8.x DVD will be identical to the steps in this document.
NOTE: The following procedure can also be used for the CardAccess 3000 Version 2.9.x.
CA3000 Web Interface Installation
If auto start is enabled on your system, the Auto Play screen will display after inserting
the CardAccess 3000 DVD in the DVD drive (Refer to figure 1). Click “Run Launch.exe”.
Verify the CardAccess 3000 Version 2.8 Setup screen displays (refer to figure 3).
Skip ahead to the steps following figure 3.
Warning: If auto start is not enabled on your system, nothing will occur after inserting the
CardAccess 3000 DVD. Follow the steps below to execute the program.
Click the Start menu on the PC. In the “Search Programs and Files” box or the
Start/Run box, type d:\launch.exe (refer to figure 2). After pressing ENTER, the
CardAccess 3000 V2.8.x setup screen will display (refer to figure 3).
Note: D represents DVD drive letter. This letter might be different depending on the drive
letter of your DVD.

Click on OK in the ‘Run’ dialog. The CardAccess 3000 Version 2.8 setup screen will
display (refer to Figure 2).

Click on the CardAccess Web Interface button.

The CA3000 web interface installation screens will display. Refer to figure 4 if the Visual C++
libraries are needed to be installed. If not, skip to figure 5 (Welcome to the CA3000Web Setup
Wizard screen).

NOTE: The installation of the web interface requires certain components to be installed if
they are not already on the system. If the required components are already installed on
the computer, the installation process will skip to the CA3000Web Setup Wizard (figure
4).
Click on the Install button. The necessary components will be installed. After the
installation of these components, The Welcome to the CA3000Web Setup Wizard
screen will display (refer to Figure 4).

Click Next. The Select Installation Address screen will display (refer to figure 6).

A webserver can have multiple websites on it. On the Site selection screen, you must
select the “Default Web Site” for the “site” and “CA3000Web” for the “virtual directory”
(refer to the figure 6).

Click Next. The Report selection screen will display (refer to figure 7).

Verify the Install Reports checkbox is selected. Click Next. The Confirm Installation
screen will display (refer to figure 8).

The Installing CA3000Web screen will display (refer to figure 9).

A progress bar will display during the installation along with a command window (refer to
figure 9 and 10). At the completion of the installation, the Installation Complete screen
will display (refer to figure 11).

The Database Connection screen will display (refer to figure 12).

NOTE: You must configure the CardAccess Web utilities to point to the SQL server and
the CA3000 SQL Database.
Click Save Settings.

The Settings have been saved screen will display (refer to figure 13).

Click Exit on the database connection screen. The CardAccess 3000 main menu will
display (refer to figure 14).

The CA3000Web interface installation is complete.

Executing the CardAccess 3000 Web client after the
installation is complete.
During the installation, a shortcut to the CA3000Web interface is installed on the desktop
(refer to figure 15). After the installation, everything should be configured and all you
have to do is execute the CA3000Web interface.

Click the CA3000Web shortcut to start the web interface (refer to figure 15). The
CardAccess 3000 login screen displays (refer to figure 16).

Accessing the CardAccess 3000 from a web
browser
The CardAccess 3000 can be accessed from any computer with a web browser.
In the URL window (refer to figure 17), type the following:
http://192.168.1.208/CA3000Web\Login.aspx

NOTES:
1) 192.168.1.208 is the IP address of the computer where IIS and the CA3000Web
Interface are installed.
2) CA3000Web is a folder on the computer with IIS installed on it.
3) Login.aspx is the name of the CardAccess 3000 web application that displays the
login screen and validates the login.

APPENDIX A
Installing IIS (Internet Information Services) on
Windows 7
As previously noted, IIS is a Microsoft product and is a web server that is needed for web
applications to run on. Web applications are then accessed via a web browser (ex.
Internet Explorer). It is highly recommended to have an experienced IT associate who is
familiar with web servers and web applications complete the installation of IIS prior to
installing the CA3000 Web interface. The screens below are just a quick reference for the
installation of IIS. Refer to Microsoft documentation for a complete IIS installation guide.

NOTE: This document references IIS on Windows 7. The installation of IIS on other
operating systems may vary. Windows 7 Professional and Server 2008 R2 install IIS 7.x.
IIS installation on Windows 7 Professional
Go to “Programs and Features” in Windows 7 Professional. Click “Turn Windows
Features on or off” (refer to figure A1).
A “Please Wait” message will display (refer to figure A2).

Click OK. The features list will display. Select “Internet Information Services” (IIS) and
“Internet Information Services Hostable Web Core”. Verify all options under these 2
selections are checked (refer to figure A3).

CardAccess 3000 Web interface configurations
NOTE: The previous example of the CA3000Web installation procedure is done on one
computer with IIS and the web interface all on one computer.
The configuration of the CardAccess 3000 with the CA3000Web interface can vary.
There are 4 components involved with this (CardAccess 3000 software, IIS, CA3000Web
interface, and a web browser) Accessing the CardAccess 3000 via a web browser can be
accomplished with one computer, two computers or three computers.
ONE COMPUTER EXAMPLE – (IN MOST CASES, THIS CONFIGURATION WOULD
BE USED FOR TESTING PURPOSES ONLY)
In this configuration, IIS, CA3000Web interface, CardAccess 3000 application and the
web browser would all be on one computer. You would access the CardAccess 3000 by
clicking the CA3000Web shortcut on the same computer.
TWO COMPUTER EXAMPLE –
In this configuration, IIS, CA3000Web interface and the CardAccess 3000 application
would be installed on the same computer. From a remote computer, you would access
the CardAccess 3000 via a web browser.
THREE COMPUTER EXAMPLE –
In this configuration, IIS and the CA3000web interface would be installed on one
computer. The second computer would have the CardAccess 3000 application installed
on it. From a third computer, you would access the CardAccess 3000 via a web browser.

APPENDIX C
TROUBLESHOOTING WEB CLIENT PROBLEMS
1) Using Windows Explorer, verify the following:
•
Verify IIS created an “Inetpub” and “wwwroot” folder. If these 2 folders
have not been created, you must reinstall IIS (refer to figure C1).
•
Verify the CardAccess 3000 Web Interface installation created a
“CA3000Web” folder. If this folder was not created, you must reinstall the
CardAccess 3000 web interface from the CardAccess 3000 DVD (refer
to figure C1).

2) Open up Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. This can be found under
Administrative Tools (refer to figure C2).

3) On the “Internet Information Services (IIS) screen, right click on the “Default Website”.
Click “Manage Web Site”. Verify the Default Website is Started (Start is grayed out). If
the Default Website is not started, click “Start” to start the website (refer to figure C3).

4) Verify the browser being used is a supported browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox and
Safari. It is recommended to use Internet Explorer (refer to figure C4).

5) Verify the “Pop-Up Blocker” is disabled. If the browser displays “Turn On Pop-up
Blocker”, this confirms the “Pop-Up Blocker” is disabled, and no changes need to be
made. If the “Pop-Up Blocker is enabled, you might experience problems running reports
in the web client (refer to figure C5).

6) On Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2, verify the firewall is started, and all the ports are
opened by setting inbound and outbound to “Allow” (refer to figures C6, C7 and C8).

7) If an error displays “Unable To Connect To Database” while launching the web client,
it is recommended to make a copy of the CardAccess.esf and CardAccess.esx files in the
CardAccess 3000 folder on the CardAccess 3000 host, and paste them into the
c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\CA3000web folder. You will be prompted to overwrite the existing,
click YES. After doing so, reboot the computer and re-launch the web client. The
CA3000web folder is on the computer where IIS is installed. This failure might occur if the
CardAccess.esf and CardAccess.esx files in the CA3000web folder are not initialized
properly.
8) If you are unable to access the web interface using a browser on a remote
computer, first verify you can access the web interface from a browser on the same
computer where IIS is installed. If you are able to access it locally, you must verify the
Windows permissions allow remote connections.
9) On a 64 bit computer, in IIS, click “Application Pools”. The Application Pools will
display. Right click on “DefaultAppPool”, and select “Advanced Settings”. Verify
“Enable 32 bit applications” is set to ‘TRUE” (refer to figure C9).
NOTE: The CA3000 web application uses .NET Framework Version 2.0

10) On a 64 bit computer, if there are any errors regarding “Crystal Reports”, you must
install the 64 bit version of Crystal Reports which is located in the “WebInterface”
folder on the CardAccess 3000 DVD.
