Gateway Resort is located north of Sauk Centre on Sauk Lake. Take US 71 north from Sauk Centre to the junction of Hwy. 71 and 28. Turn right onto Hwy. 28 and follow until you come to County Road 24, approximately 3/4 mile. Turn left onto County Road 24 and follow about 4 miles. Turn left onto Bittersweet Drive. Nestled among the maples and pines, our newly remodeled cabins offer the perfect getaway for families, fishermen, and small to mid-size groups. Conveniently located just 10 miles off I-94, Gateway Resort is close to home for almost anyone. We’re a half hour from St. Cloud, and an hour and a half from either Minneapolis or Fargo. Sauk Lake offers 2,094 acres of surface water with an abundance of panfish, large mouth bass, northern pike, and walleye. Gateway’s five cabins range in size from one to three bedrooms. Tenting space and RV hookups are also available, and public showers are conveniently located on the resort grounds. It’s perfect for hiking, biking, or inline skating. The Sauk Centre Golf Club is a mature nine hole course running along the east shore of Sauk Lake. The Lynx National Golf Course in an eighteen hole course located just a few miles south of Sauk Centre on Hwy. 71. Greystone Golf Club is the newest golfing addition in the Sauk Centre area. It is an eighteen hole Scottish style Links course and features greens designed by Tom Lehman. Located north of town on U.S. Highway 71. I-94 Speedway is a 3/8 mile asphalt racing track just one block east of I-94 at the intersection of Highways 28 & 71. Sauk Centre is the boyhood home of Pulitzer Prize winning author Sinclair Lewis. Visitors are welcome to tour his boyhood home from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Built in 1880, this one and a half story home has been restored with period furnishings to resemble life as it was around the turn of the century. The Sinclair Lewis Museum and Interpretive Center provides visitors with an insight into the writing process as well as a biography of one of America's finest authors. Open Memorial Day until Labor Day. Palmer House - This historic hotel and restaurant was built in 1901 and has been recently restored. DETAILS Check-in time is 2:00pm, check-out is 11:00am. Bed linens, dishes, pots/pans, and charcoal grills are furnished with each cabin. Guests are asked to bring their own bath towels, dish towels, soaps and other items listed on the recommended “What to Bring” list on the back of this brochure.
