Where they served? What branch of military? Metals/honors earned? Each soldier needs to have personal connections concerning any of the following: - War itself - Letters home - Quotes and stories WORLD WAR 1 – UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL Soldiers experience in words and photos – Need to find at least 4 soldiers - Where did they live prior to war (family)? Where they served? What branch of military? Metals/honors earned? Each soldier needs to have personal connections concerning any of the following: - War itself - Letters home - Quotes and stories Art and the War Discuss how Art and Propaganda were used during the war? What type of Music and Literature were inspired due to the war? - include at least 2 authors and the titles of their books and a brief plot summary - include at least 1 musical artist and the title of his/her song *Include the lyrics How were artists and authors censored during the war? - Give at least 2 examples Art and the War Who were 2 Commissioned war painters and what did they paint? - Be sure to include pictures of their work (if possible) How did the American culture change because of the war? Where are there World War 1 memorials? (ex: Washington DC? Pittsburgh? Butler or surrounding areas?) - Be sure to include pictures of the monuments (if possible)
