A city divided and defined by the Danube- wide and mighty as it threads around the Buda hills, home of Buda Castle and the scenic
Royal Palace. A throng of Museums and a whirlwind of festivals await you throughout the year. The capital also contains some of
the finest wine cellars where connoisseurs can enjoy great wines from all over the country. To the East is Gödöllô, with its famous
Grassalkovich castle museum, and to the North is the Danube bend region, the art community in Szentendre and the huge Basilica
in Esztergom, a Catholic centre of historical importance, are popular destinations. Enjoy a commanding view of the river bend from
Visegrad Castle, where you can enjoy demonstrations of jousting.
Balaton region
Dip into the summer! A favourite for children, the ‘Hungarian Inland Sea’ is actually the largest freshwater lake in Europe, with shallow
banks excellent for paddling. With facilities for a mass of water sports, there is also fun for the whole family. The surrounding area
boasts excellent full-bodied wines, natural treasures and ancient ruins, for a full and varied holiday. There are also sources of medicinal water nearby, including the unique Thermal Cave baths at Tapolca. The Badacsony grapes of this area are known for the spicy,
aromatic flavour they contribute to local wines. The foremost cities in this region are Keszthely, home to Festetics castle and museum
and Tihany, on an isthmus in the middle of the Lake, and site of an historic abbey.
Northern Hungary
Hungary’s tallest peak is a treat for nature lovers in this hilly region, which contains Hungary’s only ski slopes. It is also straddles the
great Tisza River, and has opportunities for water sports. History lovers will find castles, churches and cathedrals several hundred years
old. The fauna of the Aggtelek area is interesting, with 262 different species. This region is the homeland of Palóc and Matyó popular
art. Kékestetô and Galyatetô are most popular with winter sports fans, there is a 2400 m long ski slope and ski-jump beside it. In Eger,
you can sample the famous ’Bull’s Blood’ wine that fortified the defenders of the famous Turkish siege, and view the tallest minaret in
the county. Tokaj is the place where the world-famous wine made from raisins originates from, having gained respect and rank for this
town.The area is renowned for its excellent wines and colourful traditional dress
Great Plain
As well as the sun-drenched plain, this region crosses the River Tisza, and has a varied landscape of plains, rivers, woods and includes
reserves such as the Hortobágyi National Park, part of UNESCO’s World Heritage. Gawp at galloping herds and spy on rare species
of birds. The region is especially rich in small game; and has possibilities for nature watching or hunting pheasant, hare or deer. The
natural splendours are in marked contrast to the humble manmade sights–many villages still live a traditional agricultural lifestyle,
though there are wonderful examples of roman and baroque churches and solitary bell towers. This region is one of the richest supplies
of medicinal waters. It seems as though almost every city and large village has a beach or therapeutic baths. The Great Hungarian
Plain regional specialities include Szeged fish soup with fiery local Paprika, Kalocsa embroidery and wall-painting, lace from Halas
and peach brandy from Fütyülôs.” All this is waiting to be discovered!
Transdanubia
This popular region is a haven for people who want to escape the bustle of the city. Hike through the untouched landscape of Pannon
and Köszegi, or visit the Danube-Drava National Park, 50,000 hectares of unspoiled flora and fauna. Peaceful villages, well-stocked
lakes, and forests rich in game are wonderful sources of traditional recreation, while Lake Velencei offers warm water for swimming and
modern water sports. In the region you can find some internationally known thermal spas, curative waters of Zalakaros, Bük, Kapuvár,
Sárvár. The gentle slopes and curves of this region have seen a rich and stormy history, such as the ancient capital of Székesfehérvár,
the town of kings and cradle of statehood, and Veszprém, the town of queens. A wealth of memorials and archeological wonders–some
UNESCO listed, await you. The history lives on today in the colourful “Busójárás” in Mohács and the international wine-song festivals
held in villages in the Villányi Wine Region. Cycle paths thread along the regions many lakes and rivers. Mediaeval castles and baroque
palaces stand timeless, while modern festivals bring the culture to life before your eyes. The rivers of Danube and Rába are excellent
for angling and for water sports. However you wish to spend your free time: looking at cultural sights or entertaining yourselves free of
cares, the Transdanubian region may be an ideal place for you.

The Holiday Centre is located in grounds of
approximately 209 hectares, on the shore
of the biggest fresh-water lake of Europe,
in the beautiful environment of the Balaton
highlands, rich in historical and natural
treasures, near to many popular tourist
attractions.
Nature-lovers can find footpaths and a forest exercise path. There is also easy access
to buses and sailing boats for excursions.
The holiday Cener is an ideal environment
with natural woods, an open-air theatre,
and it’s own beach and harbour. Other
facilities include a theatre, conference hall,
sports facilities and a wide variety of accommodation, with the option of full-board.
The facilities at the Zanka holiday center
are extensive and can accommodate up to
3000 during the peak summer months of May to September. Around 600 beds are offered in the winter months.
Welcome: Our holiday home is situated
next to the Zsóry Spa and Bath which is open
to the public throughout the whole year and
offers indoor and outdoor baths and natural
curative-baths as well.
Location: The Zsóry Zsibongó Children’s
Holiday Home and Accomodation is situated
at the foot of the Bükk Mountains beside the
highway 3 between Budapest and Miskolc,
at a distance of 130 km from Budapest, at
the limit of Mezôkövesd, at Zsóry fürdô.
Rooms: The holiday home is open to guests
the whole year. In the winter season we can
accomodate 120 persons, in the summer
period up to 220 persons in our 13 chaletunits, each for up to 16 persons. Every unit
has one double room, a four-bed room, two
five bed rooms and a lounge.
The major part of our guests are hungarian children, and youth groups,
but we are ready to welcome thousands of children from all corners of
the world.
Location: Natural grounds on the shore of Balaton, behind the Csorsza
brook, on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, Hungary. The centre is accessible by bus, and has it’s own railway station and harbour.

Welcome: Baja with its 40,000 inhabitants is a town that lies on the bank of the
southern part of the Danube. The three star Hotel and Campsite are situated on
Petôfi Island, in a beautiful and quiet environment, which is only a few hundred
metres away from the town’s main square.
Location: The Sugovica Hotel and Campsite, situated on an area of about 5 hectares can be found on Petôfi Island, which is surrounded by the Sugovica and the
Ferenc-Canal, a few hundred meters from the main square of the town.
Rooms: Our hotel offers 32 rooms each with bathroom, balcony, telephone, radio,
fridge and minibar. The campsite has 19 bungalows (each with its own balcony,

Welcome: Nagykanizsa is in the centre of the Somogy-Zala hills between the west
side of Lake Balaton and the Slovenian and Croatian border. This vital border town
of 55,000 inhabitants is a transport hub of south-western Hungary, a traditional
waypoint on the route to the Adriatic and Italian harbours.
Location: Hotel Touring is in the centre of Nagykanizsa. The famous Zalakaros spa
baths are 15 km away from this Holiday Centre. The hostel is signposted from the
M7/ E-71motorway.
Rooms: 40 double and triple rooms with shower and WC, some with SAT-TV. Carpark, breakfast room, facilities for football, handball and basketball are nearby, and the town has an indoor swimming pool,
sauna, solarium, supermarket, shopping centre, cinema,

Welcome: Our campsite stands at the beginning of Pomhagen Street, which leads
to the Austrian border checkpoint 7 km away, directly along the cycle path which
runs around Lake Fertô. Our surroundings are rich in scenic spots, and there are
many opportunities for leisurely excursions.
Location: The Dori Hotel-Campsite can be found in the north-western part of
Hungary, 25 km from Sopron, 3 km from the central building of the Fertô-Hanság
National Park (part of World Heritage) in Fertôd, near to the historical EsterházyCastle.
Rooms: The apartment-style
wooden houses stand in a wonderful
sylvan setting of ancient trees. As well
as the hotel, the site also includes
extensive space for camping and
also facilities such as restaurant,
bistro and conference room.
Welcome: We offer this youth activity centre not only for students, but also for

Location: The centre is situated in Sopron, 260km from the capital Budapest. You
