Performance additives for EMULSION PAINTS Performance additives for emulsion paints: wetting agents, stabilizers and antimicrobial protection Regulatory constraints, environmental considerations, novel effects and changing customer tastes require constant reformulation. Under the brand names Genapol®, Emulsogen®, Dispersogen® and JMAC® Clariant offers a broad range of wetting agents as well as specialty additives such as stabilizers and silver biocides for antimicrobial protection. Our additives enable the manufacture of paints and coatings that comply with ecolabel criteria for low emission wall paints. Wetting agents are added to waterborne coatings to improve the wetting of the coated surface and to improve the stability of the paint formulation. Further benefits such as increased open-time, defoaming effect or improved compatibility with pigments and other paint components can be achieved by selecting the right performance additive.
