FIRST AND TEN
BY THE NUMBERS
• The only meeting between ULM and Appalachian State was a 31-29 Mountaineer win
on Nov. 8, 2014, decided by a field goal in the final minute.
• ULM held Appalachian State to 154 yards below its season average in that game.
• The Warhawks have teamed up with Susan G. Komen to raise awareness for breast
cancer throughout the day.
• ULM, one of four FBS teams to not have back-to-back home games all year, hits the
road for its next three Sun Belt contests after the Mountaineers leave town.
• ULM’s 173 yards on the ground against Tulsa were its most against an FBS squad
on the year.
• The Tulsa contest was a homecoming for head coach Todd Berry, a quarterback for the
Golden Hurricane from 1979-81. Asst. HC Steve Farmer as well as student-athletes Brayle
Brown, Will Collins, Colby Mitchell and Keaton Baggs also hail from the Sooner State.
• The matchup was the final installation of a home-and-home series that began in
2007, when Tulsa came to Malone Stadium.
• ULM ran 77 plays from scrimmage. Its previous season-high was 66 against Nicholls
State. It marked the most since having 78 in the 2013 Wake Forest win.
• ULM had season-highs of three sacks and 10 TFL against Tulsa.
• DeVontae McNeal’s 43-yard dash was his longest since unleashing a 77-yarder for
a score at UL Lafayette in the 2013 finale. He missed the 2014 season due to injury.
• Ajalen Holley’s 11 catches for 113 yards gives him 36 for 472 in his last four games.
• The Golden Hurricane’s 16-play drive in the middle of the second quarter was the
longest against the Warhawks on the year.
• Garrett Smith finished with 48 pass attempts, the most in his young career.
• ULM’s field goal to open the second half was its third time scoring to begin that half
in five games on the year.
• Hunter Kissinger missed the first two games due to surgery and has already moved
into second on the team in tackles. He tied his career-best on Saturday with 13 stops
(including 2.5 TFL), one week removed from having 12 against Georgia Southern.
• Ben Banogu had a pair of sacks among four tackles-for-loss. That gives the redshirtfreshman seven TFL in his last two games and his eight for the season are one off the
Sun Belt lead.
• Jared Mapps had three catches for a career-high 47 yards on Saturday.
• Kaylon Watson’s 37-yard run early in the fourth quarter and 73 total ground tally
marked career-bests.
• Lorenzo Jackson’s blocked field goal was the first by a Warhawk since Ray Stovall did
so on a PAT at Troy on Halloween 2013.

ULM junior wide receiver Ajalen Holley has enjoyed playing in front of the home crowd recently... In two home games this season, Holley has
amassed 324 receiving yards on 16 catches for a yards per reception total of 20.25... In ULM’s homecoming contest against Georgia Southern on
October 3, 2015, Holley hauled in a career-long 69 yard reception that highlighted a three-play, 80 yard scoring drive in the third quarter... He
went on to finish with 166 yards (20.75 yards per reception) against the Eagles... In the home opener against Nicholls State, Holley finished with
eight receptions for 155 yards (19.38 yards per reception) and two touchdown receptions.
Dating back to the 2014 conference opener against Idaho (Sept. 6, 2014), Holley has tallied 100 or more receiving yards in five of the six home
games... The only outlier, an 89 yard receiving night against Texas State (Oct. 25, 2014).

Lindy’s Preseason All-Sun Belt (Second Team Defensive Back)
December 3, 2011 when ULM blanked Florida Atlantic, 26-0, in Boca Raton, Fla... The 47-0 win over Nicholls State was the first shutout win at
Phil Steele Preseason All-Sun Belt (Second Team Def. Back)
home for the Warhawks since a 58-0 win over Texas Southern on September 12, 2009.
QUICK SCORING
ULM took a 40-0 lead into the locker room at intermission against Nicholls State as the Warhawks tallied 30 points in the second quarter... 16 of
the 30 points came in a span of just 48 seconds late in the opening half... With 2:09 to play in the second quarter, Garrett Smith connected with
Harley Scioneaux for a 17-yard touchdown and Craig Ford hit the PAT to put ULM ahead 31-0... Just 32 seconds later, Caleb Tucker blocked a Chris
Sciambra punt and it went out of the endzone for a safety, putting the Warhawks ahead, 33-0... After a Colonel free kick, the Warhawks needed
just one play to increase the lead to 40-0 as Garrett Smitth found Ajalen Holley for a 47-yard TD and Craig Ford hit the PAT to conclude ULM’s 16
points in 48 seconds.
DEFENSIVE PRESSURE
The ULM defense limited Nicholls State to just 32 yards of total offense in the opening quarter of the September 12th contest... The Colonels did
not pickup a first down as they ran nine total plays in the first quarter... In all, the Warhawks limited the Colonels to just 260 yards of total offense
and ULM recovered a pair of fumbles and turned them in 14 points... The defense also blocked a punt for a safety and in all the Warhawks finished
with nine tackles for loss (17 yards) and two sacks (five yards).
STREAK ENDED
ULM’s streak of defeating at least on power five team came to an end as the Warhawks fell at No. 12 Alabama on Saturday, September 26... The
Warhawks streak stood at three consecutive seasons after power five wins over No. 8 Arkansas (2012) and Wake Forest (2013 & 2014)... The streak
was the second longest active streak among non-power five programs... ULM trailed only BYU who currently has defeated at least one power five
team in 10 straight seasons.
OFFENSIVE STUDENT ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONOREE
After recording career highs in both receptions and receiving yards on Saturday at No. 9 Georgia, Rashon Ceaser has been named the Sun Belt
Conference’s Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Monday, September 7, 2015... Ceaser hauled in a career-best
13 catches and went over the 150 yard mark for the first time in his career as he tallied 153 receiving yards... He also tied a career high with two
touchdown receptions in the contest against the Bulldogs.
His 13 grabs are tied for third in ULM single-game history and it marks the second time in the Warhawks’ last three games that a player had 13
receptions (Kenzee Jackson, 13, at New Mexico State, Nov. 22, 2014)... Ceaser’s 13 catches pushed his career total to 175 and he now ranks sixth
in ULM history... His 153 yards increased his career total to 2,251 as he moved from eighth to fifth in program history. In addition to his Sun Belt
honor, Ceaser was also named College Sports Madness’ Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week as well as Warhawk of the Week.
ROAD WARRIORS
At a quick glance, it’s not hard to notice the Warhawks play a total of 13 games this season... What may get overlooked is that ULM plays a total
of eight games away from the friendly confines of JPS Field at Malone Stadium... ULM is the only FBS program this season that will play a total of
eight road games... Via Google Maps the distance from JPS Field at Malone Stadium to all eight road venues comes to a total of 8,612 miles and
that is just one direction -- double that amount and the round trip from ULM to each road venue comes to 17,224 miles.
Not only do the Warhawks play a total of eight road games this season, they have a stretch in late October to early November where they play
three consecutive conference road games... The Warhawks open up the stretch with an October 24th contest at Idaho inside the Kibbie Dome... A
week later, on Halloween, the Warhawks battle in-state rival UL Lafayette at Cajun Field... The three-game road stretch comes to a close on Nov. 7
with a Sun Belt tilt at Troy.
The Warhawks are just one of four FBS programs to play three consecutive conference games away from home this season... Joining ULM on the
list is fellow Sun Belt Conference member Arkansas State as well as Southeastern Conference members Arkansas and Florida... ULM is the only one
to play three straight weeks in true road games... Arkansas State has a bye week during its three-game conference road stretch from Thursday,
November 5th to Saturday, November 28th (Bye Week - November 21)... Arkansas and Florida each play three straight games away from home,
but one of those is a neutral site game (Arkansas vs. Texas A&M, Arlington, Texas - Saturday, September 26th; Florida vs. Georgia, Jacksonville,
Fla., Saturday, October 31).
ZERO BACK-TO-BACK HOME GAMES
ULM is one of six teams in FBS that will not play back-to-back home games this season and they are the only Sun Belt School on the list... Joining
the Warhawks on the list are FIU, Middle Tennessee, San Diego State, UMass and Western Kentucky... UMass plays two games in its home state,
but one is in Amherst vs. Kent State on Oct. 17, followed by a game at
CONSECUTIVE GAMES WITH A RECEPTION (TOP 10 ONLY)
Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. on Oct. 24.

players in the FBS ranks to have tallied 200 or more tackles in a career and 20 or more tackles for loss... Johnson is the only player from the Sun
Belt Conference on the list and he is also the only defensive lineman to make up the group of six... The Rayville, La., native enters his final collegiate season with 200 tackles and 29.5 tackles for loss... The list was compiled by Art Chase, Asst. AD / External Affairs at Duke.
Through his first five games in 2015, Johnson has tallied 26 total tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss to push his career totals to 226 tackles and 33.0
tackles for loss.
GETTING TO THE QUARTERBACK
In the 2014 season, the Warhawks tallied 36 total sacks, the most for the program during its time in the Sun Belt Conference (previous high 27, in
2009)... It was also the first time the Warhawks tallied 30 or more sacks in a single season since 1998 when the squad finished with 31 sacks... The
sack total of 36 was also the most for the squad since the 1997 campaign when the Warhawks sacked the quarterback a total of 39 times.
The Warhawks have also tallied at least one sack in 20 of their last 22 games dating back to the 2013 campaign; the only games in which ULM
didn’t record a sack during the recent stretch: Nov. 8, 2014 at Appalachian State and Oct. 3, 2015 vs. Georgia Southern

DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS
Among FBS programs that reside outside of the state of Texas, the Warhawks, with 36 players from Texas, rank fifth nationally... Oklahoma

PUTTING POINTS ON THE BOARD
Since the Warhawks joined the Sun Belt Conference to begin the 2001 season, the club has scored in 160 of its 170 games (dating back to Sept. 1,
2001 vs. Sam Houston State)... The Warhawks have scored at least one time in each of the last 10 games... ULM was shutout in the 2008 season
opener at No. 10 Auburn, snapping a streak of 32 consecutive games of recording at least one score... A 59-0 loss at Ole Miss later that season
marked the first time that ULM had been shutout multiple times in the same season since 2000 (Memphis; Middle Tennessee; Central Florida)...
The squad was shutout in its road tilt at Alabama (Sept. 26, 2015) and it snapped a streak of 11 straight games with a score.
NEW TURF, NEW NAME
Thanks to a generous donation of $450,000, the largest single gift in ULM athletics history, the Warhawk football team is in year two of playing on
FieldTurf Revolution... The donation from JPS Aviation/JPS Equipment Rental covered the cost of the new FieldTurf Revolution and for the donation, the name of the field will now be JPS Field at Malone Stadium... The length of the naming rights was set at a minimum of eight years... The
new FieldTurf stretches wall-to-wall and totals 78,000 square feet... It is the same playing surface the Warhawks played on at Wake Forest in 2013
and other notable FBS schools that have the FieldTurf Revolution are: Louisville, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Texas, Texas
Tech and Wisconsin... There are also 23 NFL football teams that have the FieldTurf Revolution.

• ULM’s first offensive play of the second half was a 69-yard connection from Garrett Smith to
Ajalen Holley, the Warhawks’ longest play from scrimmage of the year. It was also Holley’s longest
career reception.

against Wake Forest in 2014. It marked back-to-back weeks a Warhawk collected his first career
interception (Tre’ Hunter against Alabama).
• Ben Banogu had three tackles-for-loss on the heels of getting his first career TFL against
Alabama. It was the most by a Warhawk since Michael Johnson (4.5) and Lorenzo Jackson (3.0)
accomplished the feat against New Mexico State in 2014.
Tre’ Hunter had a career-high nine tackles. Hunter Kissinger’s 12 stops were his most since a careerhigh 13 against Texas A&M in 2014.

POSTGAME NOTES
• ULM captains: Frank Sutton, Jr. (offense), Trey Caldwell (defense) and David Griffith (special
teams).
• The contest marked ULM’s first against an American Athletic Conference foe. Its previous game
against a team currently in the league was in 2013 versus Tulane.
• The matchup was the final installation of a home-and-home series that began in 2007, when
Tulsa came to Malone Stadium.
• ULM ran 77 plays from scrimmage. Its previous season-high was 66 against Nicholls State. It
marked the most since having 78 in the 2013 Wake Forest win.
• DeVontae McNeal’s 43-yard dash was his longest since unleashing a 77-yarder for a score at UL
Lafayette in the 2013 finale. He missed the 2014 season due to injury.
• Ajalen Holley’s 11 catches for 113 yards gives him 36 for 472 in his last four games.
• The Golden Hurricane’s 16-play drive in the middle of the second quarter was the longest against
the Warhawks on the year.
• ULM’s field goal to open the second half was its third time scoring to begin that half in five
games on the year.
• Ben Banogu’s had a pair of sacks among four tackles-for-loss. That gives him seven TFL in his last
two games.
• Jared Mapps had career-highs of four catches for 47 yards.
• Kaylon Watson’s 37-yard run early in the fourth quarter and 73 total ground tally marked careerbests.
• Chris Qualls had his first 50+ yard punt of his career in the second quarter.
