He treated the Petes not just like they were a professional hockey team, rather than a junior outfit, but like they were the only team in the world. His passion for the team, and his job, was evident every time he fired up his equipment and brought the action into the cars, work places and living rooms of Peterborough residents. Bill had the good fortune of calling one NHL game, the St. Louis Blues at the Toronto Maple leafs, but his heart was really in junior hockey. As the players from the Ontario Hockey League championship team from 1988-89 gather in Peterborough to celebrate their 20th anniversary, I hope they never forget the man who passionately broadcast their hockey exploits with the same professionalism they displayed on the ice.
