Sri Gurubhyo Namaha SRI MAHA SIVARATHRI 17th Feb 2015 Sri Maha Sivarathri puja was performed in Adiguru Sri Prajna Dakshinamurti Vidyapitham on 17th Feb 2015, with grace of Adiguru and with the blessings & guidance of Sri Swamiji. The traditional way of preparing Vibhuti, called Basmothpaththi, started earlier. Dried cowdung cake and paddy husk was arranged in a tower formation on a brick stage at the Yagna sala. Sri Sivasubramania Gurukal (Sri Ramesh), assisted by Sivachariars from Tiruparankundram Agama Pathasala performed the Viraja homam from 07:30 pm on 17th Feb. It culminated with purnahuti at 08:45 pm, in the presence of more than one hundred and fifty devotees. 2 Sri Vigneswara Puja, Punyahavachanam, panchakavyam and Esanadhi Pancha Brahma Kalasa Puja were performed, before the abhishekam. The Puja started at 09:00 pm, with Mahanyasa Purvakam Ekadasa Rudra Avahanam and Japam.. This was followed by abhishekams – simultaneously for Sri Swarna Kaleeswarar and Adiguru, with eleven draviyams. Suganda Thailam, rice mavu & draviya podi, panchakavyam, panchamirtham, ghee, milk, curd, honey, sugar cane juice, tender coconut, sandal paste with rose water and vibuthi were used. 3 Sri Arun Ganapathigal, Pathasala Adhyapak led the Sivachariars, Pathasala students and devotees in reciting Sri Rudram and Siva Puranam parayanam eleven times. The abishekam started at 11:00 pm and ended with the Kalasabhishekam at 04:00 am on 18th Feb 2015. More than three hundred devotees were present throughout and equal number of devotees visited the Vidyapitham during the Puja. - 4 4 Gold kavacham was adorned on Adiguru. Sankalpam was done - for devotees who had contributed for Sri Maha Sivarathri puja, sankalpam, for Dharmasri Shaswatha Kshema Nidhi patrons, for Dharmasri Varshika Kshema Nidhi contributors and for Trustees.
